Gasgoo 盖世汽车’s Post

As vehicle electrification continues to advance globally, China’s automotive supply chain is increasingly moving from product exports toward the internationalization of technology and capabilities. For core components such as power systems, global expansion is becoming a broader exercise in localization, compliance, and organizational capabilities. Speaking at The 4th China Automotive & Parts Global Ecosystem Forum 2026 (Official Event of Auto China 2026), Wenjiang Zhao, Platform Director, InfiMotion, shared his perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing China’s automotive core component suppliers as they expand globally. Zhao noted that while the pace of new energy vehicle growth has become more measured, electrification remains a long-term direction, with energy-efficient combustion vehicles and optimized electrified driving experiences developing in parallel. China’s accumulated capabilities in new energy vehicles have also enabled its supply chain to develop increasingly mature end-to-end engineering capabilities, gaining greater recognition from traditional OEMs. At the same time, global expansion is facing new challenges, including tariff barriers, rising local-content requirements, and increasingly differentiated regional policies across markets such as North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Localization can also increase operating costs, requiring companies to continuously rebalance manufacturing efficiency and supply chain structures. Against this backdrop, InfiMotion has built a powertrain portfolio covering electric drive, power electronics, and energy storage, while establishing R&D and service capabilities in Europe alongside manufacturing bases across China. Its products have reached 58 countries and regions. Zhao also highlighted the importance of integrating group resources, strengthening ESG practices, developing international talent, improving compliance systems, and expanding global patent portfolios. The broader message is that localization is no longer simply about transferring production capacity overseas. Globalization increasingly requires the export of R&D capabilities, organizational systems, compliance expertise, and cross-cultural collaboration. For China’s automotive core component suppliers, building this integrated capability will be essential to moving from product exports toward sustainable global operations. #Gasgoo #AutoChina2026 #ChinaAuto #GoingGlobal #InfiMotion #Powertrain #Electrification #AutomotiveSupplyChain #Localization #AutomotiveIndustry
