Wrote this to our community this week and wanted to share it here too. To the 237 freelancers who signed up before we gave them much in return, thank you. That backing means a lot. We've been heads down. Product testing, real feedback, first pilot business locked in. Getting the basics right before we open the doors properly. If you know a business that needs a hand — website design, social media, videography, marketing consulting — we've got the freelancers. Pilot program is just around the corner, send them through. And if you are interested in our journey check out Mikey's devlog below to see what's been happening under the hood. 👇 #freelancer #marketing #australia
Mikey's Devlog #2 is live 👀 237+ freelancers deep, a gig page taking shape, and two big pillars incoming — a project management system and milestone payments built into the platform. Michael's also having a little too much fun with Go microservices. Classic. Oh, and we've got our first pilot business locked in. Three things that will change how freelancers get paid in the next 5 years: 1. Real-time cross-border rails. Right now, international transfers take 1-3 days. New infrastructure is being built that will make cross-border payments as fast as domestic ones. Some corridors are already there. 2. Multi-currency accounts becoming the default. The idea that you need a “local” bank account is dying. If you earn in 3 currencies, you should be able to hold 3 currencies. Simple. 3. Embedded finance in freelance platforms. Instead of platforms being middlemen for your payments, they’ll plug into the financial tools you already use. You pick your account, your FX provider, your terms. The common thread: the freelancer gets more control. Five years ago, you took whatever PayPal gave you. Five years from now, you’ll have the same financial flexibility as a small business. We’re in the messy middle right now. But the direction is clear.

Benji! - Why are my independent workers leaving the platform? A question that keeps coming up in my conversations with marketplace operators While on-demand freelancer or gig platforms inherently have a higher risk of churn due to the transient nature of work and relationships, there are a few other main reasons why your retention is poor #gigeconomy #retention #platform #ondemand #marketpalce #fintech #payments #freelancers

Ever been stuck on any document ??? I’m a developer— but through my father (an advocate), I’ve seen a clear pattern: Freelancers signing NDAs without clarity. Employees accepting offers without noticing key terms. Founders agreeing to contracts with hidden risks. Even CAs reviewing documents under time pressure. Not complex legal problems— just confusion. Sometimes it’s one small point… and that can change everything. That didn’t feel right. So I built LegalClue. A simple way to understand documents, spot key points, and identify risks—in seconds. LegalClue. Understand first. Then decide. Have you ever signed something without fully understanding it? #LegalAwareness #Contracts #StartupIndia #Freelancers #LegalTech

Freelancers lose billions every year to late payments, ghosted clients, and platforms that take 20% for doing almost nothing. I built FairPay to fix that. 🔒 The idea is simple: before a single line of code is written or a single design stroke is drawn, the client's money is locked in a smart contract. No trust required. The contract is the rule engine. → Client ignores your submission for 48 hours? Funds release automatically. → Client wants to dispute? They stake a financial bond first — eliminating casual abuse. → Client approves 80% but wants revisions on 20%? Only 20% is held. The rest goes to you immediately. No middlemen. No black-box support tickets. Just math. ⚙️ Under the hood, FairPay is a full-stack Web3 protocol: • Multi-milestone escrow smart contracts (Solidity + Hardhat) • GitHub webhook auto-release — push a tagged commit, get paid • IPFS-based deliverable verification • Soulbound Reputation NFTs — a resume nobody can fake or seize • Skill-staked arbitration — mediators bet their own reputation on fairness • On-chain contract templates, retainer mode, and a spam-filtered job board Built with Next.js 14, wagmi v2, PostgreSQL + Prisma, BullMQ on Redis, and deployed on Sepolia Testnet. The global freelance market is $1.5 Trillion. 85%+ of freelancers have experienced uncompensated work. That's not a UX problem — it's a broken incentive structure. FairPay replaces trust with cryptoeconomic guarantees. This is what I've been building. Would love your thoughts. 🙏 GfG Campus Body IEC #GapForge #AIInnovation #FutureOfResearch #MultiAgentAI #SimulationLabs #ResearchAutomation #TechInnovation #LinkedInTech #BuildInPublic

Building a startup forces you to slow down and really understand the problem before rushing to launch. While developing SafeLink, I’ve been spending time speaking with freelancers and clients about how they currently handle payments, disputes, and expectations when working outside marketplaces. The stories are consistent, projects agreed in DMs, payments sent on trust, and problems when expectations aren’t clearly structured. Those conversations are shaping how we’re designing SafeLink. Still early, but every conversation is making the product sharper. If you’re a @freelancer or someone who hires freelancers directly, I’d love to hear how you currently handle payments and agreements. #freelancer

Freelancers, listen up! 🚨 The gig economy is changing. Clients are now seeking not just coders, but problem solvers. Shift your pitch from “I write code” to “I build solutions that drive results.” This mindset will set you apart in a crowded market! #Freelancer #business #tech

"I spent two months building their platform, and now they aren't even answering my emails." A developer completed a high-intensity project based on a Slack conversation and a promise of payment on delivery. Once the work was handed over, the client went silent. Without a signed Service Agreement, the freelancer had no documented scope, no payment schedule, and no evidence to take anywhere. That's why we built Docify.ge — Service Agreements for just 3 GEL, signed electronically in minutes. Scope, deadlines, and payment terms locked in before a single line of code is written. A contract transforms a favor into a professional obligation and gives you the legal leverage needed to ensure your hard work gets compensated. Freelancers — what is your red flag when a client hesitates to sign a formal agreement? docify.ge | @docifyge #FreelanceLife #ServiceAgreement #BusinessContracts #GigEconomy #LegalTech მომსახურების ხელშეკრულება თქვენი ანაზღაურების გარანტიაა — 3 ლარი, 2 წუთი, Docify.ge.
