A quiet week commercially, but a massive step forward for Plogbook. Our latest update gives schools full control of student training management. Instructors can now cross-check and sign off student records, and each organisation can add its own syllabus, allowing every exercise to be clearly tracked and marked as in progress or complete. This brings structure, accountability and visibility to flight training that most schools just don’t have without digging through paper records or disconnected systems. You can now: View student progress linked directly to tech log entries Sign off lessons as an instructor and have a student counter sign Review and verify records as an admin We also added new reporting tools to help clubs and schools stay on top of: Licence and medical expiry dates on the dashboard Booking restrictions Member status filters for things like activity and currency They’re not flashy features, but they solve real problems - and that’s the goal. Other updates from the week: A conversation with a flying school challenged our approach to logging time (HH:MM vs decimals vs Tacho/hobbs). It reminded me how common this debate still is in GA - and how important it is to stay open to feedback without taking it personally. It’s a skill I’m still learning. On the systems side: HubSpot continues to handle CRM and outreach Buffer helps schedule Instagram content I’ve been trialling Valuecase to improve our client onboarding - looks promising so far Next steps: I’m starting to re-use our recorded demo calls and onboarding conversations (using Fathom) to create short-form video content for social media - the kind of clips that might help spark interest from others in the GA space. I’m also about to launch: A personal Instagram channel focused on actual flying and the behind-the-scenes of building Plogbook A GA education-focused email newsletter, aimed at helping schools, clubs, and syndicates modernise operations and connect with each other.
