Many of us have faced last-minute issues while presenting slides. Missing fonts, media not playing, files incompatible with the host system, or simply differences between operating systems. These problems can throw you off in crucial moments like conferences, reviews, or lectures. To address this, I’ve started using Quarto with Reveal.js to create HTML-based presentations and host them on GitHub Pages. This makes my slides accessible from any browser. No need to carry files, no risk of version mismatches, and everything works exactly as intended. I’ve written a short blog post explaining how to set this up, for anyone who wants a smooth, reproducible way to present from anywhere. Blog Post: https://lnkd.in/d4cQuxpw Demo Slides: https://lnkd.in/dG-QqUHj Source Code: https://lnkd.in/d2kmzbrW Disclaimer: Slides hosted this way are publicly viewable, so it’s best suited for content you’re comfortable sharing openly.

The team has been busy conjuring up some exciting new updates that you won't want to miss 🦇 Ask Dosu to create documents from anywhere – Struck with a great doc idea while chatting with Dosu? Now you can tell Dosu to create a new document from any channel, including Slack. Just say "@Dosu write me a document about [topic]" and watch the magic happen. 🧙♂️ New login methods – We've added support for signing in with Google and Azure accounts, making it easier for more teams to get started with Dosu (and more login providers planned for the future)! 🧜♀️ Mermaid diagram support – Our documentation editor now supports adding Mermaid diagrams by using mermaid code blocks. 🍂 Document lifecycle improvements – Documents are now Published by default (rather than Drafts), so Dosu can start referencing and updating them immediately. Plus, you can now archive documents when they're no longer relevant instead of deleting them. and much more! Blog in comments 👇

Shipping another free community tool: Slickshot (https://ss.outstep.co) My favorite screenshot beautifier went down recently. I loved it, used it daily, and didn’t want to lose the workflow. So I dug into their public GitHub repo and rebuilt my own version for the community. Credit to the original repo I used: https://lnkd.in/ezVkchw8 Sticking to my "free tools for community" mission, I first launched QuickNote - a fast, minimal scratchpad for ideas: https://lnkd.in/eJe7MRPs Now, Slickshot - a simple, clean way to make screenshots look great in seconds: https://ss.outstep.co If you build products, design, code, or share visuals regularly, try Slickshot (https://ss.outstep.co) and QuickNote (https://lnkd.in/eJe7MRPs). Tell me what breaks, what’s missing, and what would make them 10x more useful for you. I’m keeping these tools free, lightweight, and fast, so the community can move quickly.

Do you need a quick way to take people to a specific part of your document in 📄 #GoogleDocs? Adding a 📑 bookmark can help! When you insert bookmarks, denoted by a 🔷 blue icon, you can easily add references elsewhere in the document that link straight to the relevant section, letting people jump directly to the context they need. You can even share the link outside of the document so that people are taken to the right section immediately as they open it. To add a bookmark, 🖱️ click where you would like to add it and then select “Bookmark” from the Insert menu in the ⚒️ toolbar. You can add multiple bookmarks within the same document. 💡 Tip: you can already create links to any heading or tab without first needing to create a new bookmark. Hear me out -- the problem with every notetaking system that has even the slightest traction is the slew of rabbit holes you fall down about how you can use them for personal organization Currently it's the entire category of tools (in my case Silverbullet) that resemble Obsidian -- that is, they offer backlinking, support plugins, and store everything in Markdown. Plugin availability will vary, but a lot of the ideas around using the backlinks to create notes for later will carry over, *and* with Markdown as a storage medium you can easily bring them over to other systems later (There's an excellent YouTube channel called No Boilerplate that just drove me back down this rabbit hole recently. Highly recommend also checking out "The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Plain Text")

Bjorn's Quikslides A "Notepad" for presentations. A Google Keep for presentations. Based on "markdown" for simple and quick formatting (including tables) for the more advanced user. Use predefined slide and text styles or quickly create your own styles, including gradient and pattern backgrounds. Quickly make presentation more interesting by using random styles and transitions from your "fav list". Export presentation to a web page with a click of a button then embed page into Google Sites or WordPress with a click or two.

Distribution beyond my site 🧰 LLMs surface docs and code often. I seed canonical READMEs changelogs and docs where buyers search. I ensure those pages have clear titles summaries links and update dates so they are safe to cite. ✅ Action now: Publish a concise README or quickstart in a public repository or documentation hub with a one paragraph summary and a last updated line. 📍 Where could a concise README or how to guide live outside your marketing site? #Docs #GitHub #KnowledgeBase #LLMSEO #DeveloperRelations
