The most extraordinary experience of Richard Garriott's life would make a terrible video game. Eight and a half minutes from sitting still on the ground to floating in orbit. He calls it one of the most pinnacle experiences a person can have. And as a game designer, he's the first to admit it wouldn't translate. There's not much to see. What makes it unforgettable is the g-force, the weight of the moment, the knowledge of where you are and what's underneath you. None of that survives a screen. The lesson: Some experiences can't be simulated. They have to be felt. Episode 3 of #StayTuned: Seekers & Disruptors with Rob Garf and Dave Finnegan, filmed live at The Explorers Club in NYC. Could video game movies become Hollywood’s next big obsession? 🎮 🎥 🎙️ In this clip from The Boss Rush Podcast, LeRon Dawkins and I react to a listener question about whether game adaptations are heading toward the same cultural boom we saw with comic book movies. We break down why films like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Sonic the Hedgehog are actually working, while others like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil struggle to stay consistent. We also look ahead at upcoming projects like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and talk about whether video game IPs can ever hit the same unified “mega-universe” level as Marvel or DC, or if they’re just too scattered to ever fully get there. #BRPLive #BossRushPodcast #SuperMarioGalaxyMovie #SonicTheHedgehog #VideoGameMovies #MCU #DCU #VideoGameAdaptations

Not long after I joined CRKT, I started hearing a pattern. People would walk up to our booth at trade shows, pick up an M16, and just...talk. Not about specs. About where their M16 had been. Desert deployments. Jobsites. Decades of daily carry. Stories we had no idea existed. I couldn't stop thinking about that. Two months, a lot of conversations, and one incredible team later, this week we launched M16: Carried. A series and story hub built around one of CRKT's most enduring knives and the people who've actually lived with it. Episode 1 is live. We sat down with Rod and Peggy Bremer and explored the origin of the M16 through the lens of Kit Carson's design philosophy. It's a conversation I feel lucky to have been a part of capturing. Every Monday in May, a new episode. And the ones ahead open it up to the community. The carriers, the tradesmen, the veterans, the EDC enthusiasts. The people who were part of this story long before I was. To everyone who's already shared their story with us, everyone we've had the privilege of interviewing, and everyone on the team who helped bring this to life. Thank you. This one meant a lot to make. Watch Episode 1 and explore the hub at crkt.com/m16 #CRKT #M16Carried #ShowMeYourM16 #EverydayCarry #KnifeCommunity
For 30 years, the M16 has lived in real pockets. Carried by veterans, tradesmen, first responders, and knife enthusiasts who never needed to be sold on it. It earned its place through use. That history deserves more than a product page. We just launched M16: Carried. Every Monday in May, a new episode. Episode 1 is live! Rod and Peggy Bremer reflect on the early days of CRKT, and the lasting influence of designer Kit Carson, whose discipline and philosophy shaped not just the M16, but how we think about knives to this day. The coming episodes get wider. The people who've actually carried this knife are a big part of what's ahead. This is a project that’s been talked about for a long time. Since I started at CRKT, there’s always been this idea floating around of how do we properly tell the story of Kit Carson and the M16? Not just the product, but the people behind it, the thinking, and the impact it’s had over time. At trade shows and out in the world, we’ve seen it firsthand. Someone sees our booth or a CRKT shirt, reaches into their pocket, and starts telling us their story; where they got it, what they’ve used it for, or why they still carry it. So this year, we decided to go for it. We’re kicking off something we’re calling M16 Month. Four episodes rolling out through May, each focused on a different part of that story. Episode One is live now. It’s about the origin: Kit, the early days, and the thinking behind the design. There’s a lot more to tell than we can fit into four episodes, but it’s a start. What we really want is to hear more of those stories. The ones people have been carrying around for years. The ones that don’t show up on a product page, but are still out there doing exactly what they were made to do. Owning an M16 isn’t just owning a knife. It means you’re part of a 27+ year legacy of innovation and purpose-built design. What’s your M16 story? https://lnkd.in/gBEGpkZX

“They admitted they knew the show would hurt our careers.” That was one of the most revealing moments from my conversation with Furonda Brasfield about her experience on America’s Next Top Model. We talked about the emotional aftermath of reality television, the promises contestants believed in, and the painful realization many cast members later faced about how the industry viewed them after the show. Furonda spoke candidly about: • manipulation behind the scenes • gaslighting contestants • producers intentionally choosing damaging images • and the long-term impact on modeling opportunities A conversation about visibility, exploitation, and truth years later. 🎥 “Producers Admitted the Show Ruined Modeling Careers” #CapitalAndCulture #FurondaBrasfield #ANTM #AmericasNextTopModel #RealityTV #MediaCulture #EntertainmentIndustry #WomenInMedia #TruthAndHealing #Storytelling #ClayD

Could video game movies become the next big Hollywood obsession? On this clip from The Boss Rush Podcast, Corey Dirrig and LeRon Dawkins answer a listener question about whether game adaptations are heading toward a “comic book movie” level boom. The discussion breaks down why franchises like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Sonic the Hedgehog are finding success, why others like Tomb Raider and Resident Evil struggle to maintain consistency, and how upcoming films like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat fit into the bigger picture. They also compares the fractured potential of game IPs to the more unified comic book universes of Marvel Entertainment and DC Studios, arguing that video games may never fully hit the same cultural “mega-phase.” This and more on the Boss Rush Podcast. #BRPLive #BossRushPodcast #SuperMarioGalaxyMovie #SonicTheHedgehog #VideoGameMovies #MCU #DCU #VideoGameAdaptations
