I've learned many things over the course of my engineering career, but the most important things I've learned have nothing to do with engineering. People, culture, psychology, fears, bias, and other human centric topics are what have got in the way of some pretty awesome projects over the years. But those human centric topics are also what enable awesome projects to move forward, when they're addressed along with technical and financial topics. At Rathco ENG Ltd., we've incorporated human centric strategies into our feasibility studies for years and are seeing the results. More great projects moving forward. We've gone further by incorporating these human centric learnings into our OVR-VU, powered by RATHCO platform too.

Historic preservation and environmental sustainability can often work hand in hand. One of our recent projects, the Benn High redevelopment, is a great example of this partnership. Benn High isn't just committed to preserving history, it's focused on building a sustainable future. This century-old school building is being transformed into a 100% electric facility powered by geothermal and solar energy. The project also includes brownfield remediation to address contamination from a 19th-century machine workshop that existed before the school was built. Adaptive reuse of the existing structure reduces construction waste while modern green technology ensures energy efficiency for decades to come. CarbiCrete's cement-free #concrete is helping to decarbonize the construction industry through reducing the #carbonfootprint of the most-used manmade material on Earth. Using CarbiCrete products in your next #building project can help you meet #sustainability criteria and set your project apart through reducing #embodiedcarbon. "Legislation is playing a powerful role in accelerating adoption. The introduction of #green building codes, tax incentives, and #carbon reduction targets has created a more favorable environment for eco-friendly #construction. #LEED, BREEAM, and other international certification programs place green building materials at the core of sustainable building practices." 🏙️ Yesterday, Vicinity's Vice President of Business Development Rick Smith moderated the Bisnow Boston panel "Position Your Buildings for 2050 Net Mandates" at the 2025 Boston Sustainability & Energy Conference. On stage, the group dug into how building owners, operators and service providers can upgrade their buildings and diversify energy sources to meet evolving carbon targets. Thank you to the fantastic panelists that joined Rick yesterday: Gretchen McGill of The Davis Companies, James Apodaca of The Congress Group, Kevin Silveira of National Grid, Michael Swenson, CCP, CEM, LEED AP BDC of Suffolk Construction, and Sam Mason of CodeGreen. #Bisnow #Bostondecarb

🏗️ The buildings sector accounts for over one-third of global energy-related CO₂ emissions, yet less than 1% of carbon credits to funding energy-efficient buildings. That can change. Our new White Paper shows how carbon markets under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement can unlock new finance for energy efficiency in buildings from the production of materials, to the construction and use of the buildings until their end-of-life. 👉Discover the landmark White Paper’s key messages: https://lnkd.in/eqZheN6v This first-of-its kind material on buildings and Article 6 was possible thanks to: • coordination and review by PEEB's Anna Zinecker, Joscha Rosenbusch, Loė Guthmann, and Willy Alarcon • valuable contributions from technical reviewers Amandine Gal, Benita Gurung, Carol Torres-Limache, Danjuma Waniko, Gregor Sahler, Hannah Swee, PhD, Nicolas Müller, and Saurabh Saraf • the work of authors Dian Phylipsen, Craig Menzies, Karsten Mølgaard HOLM, and Yalun Jin INTEGRATION environment & energy GmbH SQ Consulting Manuel Cocco Felix Ciosconara Edima Okodi-Iyah Dwi Cahyo Husodo Johannes Anhorn, PhD #Article6 #CarbonMarkets #SustainableBuildings #Buildings #ClimateFinance #COP30

Dear Network, I encourage and recommend you to have a look at a newly published document that I/DEM has contributed to. Carbon finance in the building and construction sector is still facing barriers and challenges. This White Paper provides some guidance and potential solutions to overcome these for the market players. Reposting and comments are most welcome. And you can also look forward to a Handbook on the same topic that will provide more on practical examples. https://lnkd.in/dcv7hKRh
