🎞️ Exploring Movement Through Muybridge 🎶 I’ve been working on a short animated segment for an upcoming music video for a Slovenian band, using cutouts from Eadweard Muybridge’s book Humans in Motion. These iconic motion studies, created in the late 19th century, mark the very beginning of film and animation. Muybridge’s sequential photographs captured the essence of movement frame by frame — a concept that remains at the heart of animation today. Even after more than a century, these images are still among the most inspiring and useful creative references when studying human motion. They offer a raw and analytical look at rhythm, timing, and form — elements that continue to shape how we bring life to still images. I reimagined these sequences using After Effects, experimenting with rhythm and layering to bridge Muybridge’s pioneering work with a modern, musical context. It’s fascinating how something so foundational to cinema’s origins can still feel so alive and contemporary. #animation #motion #aftereffects #muybridge #filmhistory #cutoutanimation #musicvideo #creativeprocess
