- Next is an option that is arguably part of your network, but one so many salespeople forget and it's because of that I wanted to share it specifically. This one is to ask your existing customers, those people you've been selling to for years or you've just managed to win over, go to them and say, I'm looking for these kinds of businesses or individuals. Do you know of any? Or better yet, if you're confident they know the business you're targeting, ask them if they know anyone there. They're more likely to know individuals, not just businesses. They may have dealt with them already. They might have been customers of them or to them. They might just be friends with them. But the important thing is to ask, because this is an underutilized avenue. People are often scared to ask their customers.
