Zsoka Taylor McDonald shared thisJim Beam is revving up for F1 with team Cadillac!! Jim Beam the man drove a Cadillac and shuttled his proprietary yeast to and from the distillery every day in his car to protect it from fire and prohibition. So it’s only natural to partner with this team!Zsoka Taylor McDonald shared thisToday we announced that Jim Beam, the world's No. 1 bourbon, is now the Official Spirits Partner of the Cadillac Formula 1® Team, uniting two American originals on the world’s fastest stage – Formula 1®. This multi-year global partnership reflects our shared commitment to connecting fans worldwide, kicking off in 2026 when the Cadillac Formula 1® Team joins the FIA Formula 1 World ChampionshipTM as the first new addition to the grid since 2016. Cadillac has played a significant role in Jim Beam's history. Every evening, Jim Beam, our brand’s legendary founder, would place a mason jar of his proprietary yeast – the living heart of his protected recipe – in the front seat of his Cadillac and drive it home to protect it from fire and prohibition, preserving the recipe that defines Jim Beam’s unmatched flavor today. Known as the "people's bourbon," Jim Beam celebrates shared moments of great taste and responsible connection – and we’re excited to see this new partnership come to life next year! Zsoka Taylor McDonald reposted thisZsoka Taylor McDonald reposted thisYamazaki - one of the most admired Japanese whiskies in the world - has introduced its oldest 100% Mizunara-cask-aged expression from the House of Suntory. Mizunara is a type of oak that's native to Japan and notoriously difficult to use. Our chief blender Shinji Fukuyo told Food & Wine that when whisky is aged in these casks for 10 years, the characteristic “spicy aroma of Mizunara can be sensed in the finish..at 25 years and beyond that Mizunara truly reveals its potential." Congrats to the House of Suntory on another stunning launch! Read more: https://lnkd.in/e_ASpaN3

Well done Allison McEneaney and Carol Robert!! 💪Zsoka Taylor McDonald shared this🍹🍺🍷 While beer and wine sales continue to fizzle, ready-to-drink beverages—canned cocktails, hard seltzers and party punches—are the toast of the summer, making stars of fresh brands such as Buzzballz, LLC / Southern Champion, Carbliss - THE PREMIUM Ready to Drink Cocktail and Surfside, and institutions of category pioneers like High Noon. Carol Robert, managing director of U.S. ready-to-drink beverages at Suntory Global Spirits, discussed how Suntory is pursuing innovation in ingredients and formulations, why the company will “overinvest” to build brands, and why getting quality right is crucial for consumer acceptance over the long term. 📲 Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/e8kNTtxF

Zsoka Taylor McDonald liked thisZsoka Taylor McDonald liked thisToday was a powerful reminder of what sustainability looks like in action. We were back in the Central Appalachian Mountains at Ataya Forest with our partners Green Forests Work and The Nature Conservancy —marking our fifth year restoring a former coal mine. What was once degraded land is steadily becoming a thriving forest again. To date, we’ve help plant more than 1 million trees, including 75,000 in this corridor—helping restore habitat in one of the most biologically rich temperate forests in the world and reconnect a critical pathway for migratory species. For us at Suntory Global Spirits, this work is also tied to our craft. White oak, essential for our barrels, depends on healthy, resilient forests—making restoration efforts like this vital for the future. This work reflects what we believe at Suntory: that we grow our business in harmony with nature, not separate from it.

Zsoka Taylor McDonald liked thisZsoka Taylor McDonald liked thisOne year in India — and what an incredible journey. From the vibrant culture to unforgettable culinary adventures, I have been warmly welcomed at every turn. I am deeply grateful to the people across this country for their kindness and hospitality. India hums with an energy that’s hard to describe unless you experience it firsthand. Consumer optimism is strong and the opportunities are immense. At Suntory, we have ambitious plans for India — we see it as a key growth engine for our global business. To mark my first year here, I spent February in-market with our SGS India teams — Gemba visits across Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Gurugram — listening, learning and shaping our strategy for 2026 and beyond. The months were full of energising conversations and practical brainstorming on how we win together in this strategic market. My message was simple. The response from our teams was unmistakable: We are ready. Ready to build sustainable scale. Ready to write the next chapter of Suntory’s story in India. Thank you to every colleague who welcomed me into your territories, shared your market realities, and showed what “Yatte Minahare" looks like in action. I look forward to scaling new heights — together. #InspiringBrilliance Suntory Global Spirits

Zsoka Taylor McDonald liked thisZsoka Taylor McDonald liked thisOn March 18, I had the privilege to attend Suntory’s Yatte Minahare Awards at Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan. “Yatte Minahare” is one of Suntory Group’s three corporate values – translated from Japanese, it means having the conviction to challenge convention and willingly pursue bold goals with tenacity. I joined the 10 finalist teams from across the Suntory Group as they presented their inspiring Yatte Minahare projects at the awards ceremony and then spent around two weeks traveling Japan being out in the “gemba” (translates to “the real place,” aka, being away from your desk to observe and connect in the real world). Coming back this week to my real world in New York, I feel so energized and grateful to have experienced the power of Suntory’s brand in Japan and to have connected for the first time in person with colleagues in Tokyo – both in the office and over Kaku highballs. Being there for cherry blossom season wasn’t a bad bonus, either. I had several moments of deep reflection over the past two weeks, especially on applying the Yatte Minahare philosophy to my personal journey. When I graduated from Boston College in 2020, all my plans and all my goals came to a screeching halt. Among all the losses during that time, I was unable to think positively about the future for my career. I never could have predicted that six years later, I would be in Japan for work with a job I love at a company I deeply respect. I am extremely grateful to my wonderful team at Suntory Global Spirits for giving me this opportunity (plus the approved PTO to extend my trip) and to every mentor and friend along the way for pushing me to trust the process, especially those who were there in the early days of my graduation when I was questioning everything. Now in 2026, I can’t wait to see what comes next. Hopefully, many more highballs and cans of -196 enjoyed with colleagues and friends around the world. Yatte Minahare!

This year’s Davos is done and dusted, and WEF is the winner. After being dismissed as increasingly out of touch, they pulled off the near-impossible: bringing countries, industries, and leaders together to tackle the most pressing issues of our time. A few standout moments: Mark Carney's era-defining speech reminded us that middle powers can punch above their weight—but only with courage and intention. As a New Zealander, that resonated. Trump's Davos appearance delivered an unexpected off-ramp from escalating tensions around Greenland. The pivot on military intervention and European tariffs was welcomed and reassuring…for the moment. Energy transition discussions were pragmatic: companies can't solve this alone. Sustainability matters, but only with systemic change. AI conversations were thoughtful and nuanced—especially Accenture CEO Julie Sweet's point that humans need to lead AI, not just be “in the loop”. That demands real commitment from leaders to reskill people and communicate honestly. The diversity imperative was acknowledged: innovation requires it. And cutting funding? That's just handing global talent—and competitive advantage—to markets like China. By week's end, the leaders I talked to felt energized. Problems more manageable. Moods better. But here's what Davos glossed over: According to Section (AI consulting), CEOs and workers see AI completely differently. Workers are anxious. C-suite is bullish. FleishmanHillard's global License to Lead research confirms it: leaders are highly confident of their ability to execute the transformative change AI demands. Employees and other stakeholders aren't convinced—based on their lived experience of leadership communication and follow-through. My question: Do leaders know where the tipping point is for their people? What truly matters to them? Their bottom line? That gap is the real challenge more CEOs need to address through consistent communication and operational accountability. Those leaders who narrow it will have a clear advantage: more productive and happier employees, and a better chance of AI adoption success and realizing the return on their investment.

Trust, Education, Engagement and Collaboration 💡 Four critical elements that communications and public affairs professionals should take note of when navigating the complex and uncertain geopolitical and economic landscape today. These were some of the points raised on of the most engaging panels I've moderated: "Techplomacy at the crossroads: Trade, Tensions and Tomorrow's Innovations" at the #CorporateAffairsForum 2025 organized by PRCA APAC. #Trust is key across all levels when: - new technologies like AI are being deployed at an unprecedented scale in all geographies, and governments are trying to define the rules of engagement - platforms like Uber are expanding at scale but need to ensure that traditional players are not impacted and are being invited to play an active part in mobility innovations - Ensuring the utmost compliance and trust when you are at the centre of global trade and currency flows #Education and communications clarity is central to cutting above the noise. Employing new ways of communicating through owned media like blogs and podcasts ensure that the company's stance is clear. Constant #Engagement with key stakeholders can change conversations from confrontational to #collaborative. Walking the talk, zooming in on the right stakeholders and finding direct and indirect ways to build trust through activities, meetings and programs. Underpinning everything is an acute awareness of the changing landscape, the nuances of each market in Asia Pacific, how actions from other regions can impact locally and pivoting accordingly. A big thank you to Jake Wilczynski (OpenAI), Mae L. (Airwallex) and Pei Chih Marvin Ma (Uber Taiwan), for your candid views and sharing. It was fun! Ed Burleigh #Techplomacy #TheHoffmanDifference

Extra caution continues when professionals in journalism and PR gather information since it can be taken out of context and become misleading. The public/consumers must also work harder to find accuracy where they consume information. Reading and doing research on their own is vital since finding trustworthy information from credible and reliable sources is dwindling. Here is an interesting study: "But a recent study co-authored by researchers affiliated with the University of Maryland indicates that some social media users deliberately repurpose credible journalism to advance misleading claims."

Free speech matters. Impartiality matters. In most workplaces, impartiality is the safer choice. But it shouldn’t come at the cost of honest thinking or measured opinions. Opinions challenge assumptions. There’s no perfect answer, but silence has never moved anything forward. The real tension is how we separate personal opinions and strong perspectives from professional judgement, particularly in an industry where comms sits at the core. The choice is either taking a stance that reflects an organisation’s values or sitting on the fence in the name of appeasement. I prefer the former, as I feel most people do. #pr #comms https://lnkd.in/e9YSNHbA
