Tracey Newman reposted thisWe're not hitting an AI ceiling. Here's why the AI scaling skeptics are wrong. Exponentials help us understand everything that's going on in AI. For thousands of years, we lived in a linear world. Two apple trees produced about twice as many as one did. Walking half as far took half as long. AI broke that mold - and our imaginations haven't yet evolved to catch up. Since I began work on AI in 2010, the amount of training data that goes into frontier AI models has grown by one trillion times. It's taken us from models that can sometimes identify cars in photos to models that can act autonomously for up to 12 hours at a time, using different apps, taking actions. It's an exponential explosion. Now consider that we're looking at something like another 1000x in effective compute by the end of 2028. Moore's Law, exponential itself, can't even keep up. Training a language model that took 167 minutes on 8 GPUs in 2020 now completes in under 4 minutes on equivalent modern hardware. That's a 50x improvement, when Moore's would predict only 5x. Skeptics who keep predicting these "walls" AI will hit often point to a slowing of Moore's law - when in fact, Moore's law seems to be underestimating what's possible. Sometimes they point to energy constraints - meanwhile, solar costs have fallen nearly 100x over fifty years; battery prices have dropped 97% over three decades. There is a pathway to clean energy at scale coming into view. Impressive stats aside - what does this mean for us? It means we're standing at the precipice of cognitive abundance. Previously impossible benefits in sight if not already within reach, from new healthcare cures to scientific breakthroughs. That's the world our superintelligence lab is planning for and proactively building. I'll leave you with this: I hope all of us start reimagining what might be possible, and how fast. It has taught me patience, resilience, perspective, and what unconditional love really looks like. I am incredibly grateful for the support my family has received. I work for a company with truly exceptional benefits, and Microsoft has enabled Cameron to make meaningful advancements. These opportunities have made a real difference in his life and in ours, and I do not take that for granted. I also know this truth: not every family is as fortunate. In the latest Cyberattack Series report, Microsoft Incident Response (DART) investigates a real‑world intrusion that began with something deceptively simple: 📞 a Microsoft Teams voice call impersonating IT support. No zero‑days. No malware emails. Just social engineering, collaboration tools, and a legitimate remote access utility. After multiple attempts, a threat actor convinced a user to grant access via Quick Assist, leading to hands‑on‑keyboard compromise, credential theft, and follow‑on attacker activity designed to blend in with normal enterprise operations. Copilot can now reason, plan, and act directly inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and the Microsoft 365 Copilot app—completing multistep tasks end to end right in the flow of work. Expanded model diversity with Claude and next-gen Open AI models available today. Microsoft 365 is model diverse by design. Copilot leverages leading models from Anthropic and OpenAI, operating openly across clouds and data services without locking customers in—and now Claude is available in mainline chat in Copilot. Copilot Cowork. What RedVDS is and why it matters: RedVDS provided low‑cost virtual machines that criminals used to send large volumes of phishing emails and gain unauthorized access to Microsoft email accounts across regions. RedVDS activity since September 2025: 🔹 More than 191,000 Microsoft email accounts compromised or accessed fraudulently 🔹 Impact across over 130,000 organizations worldwide 🔹 Highest concentrations in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and India In just one month, more than 2,600 distinct RedVDS virtual machines sent an average of one million phishing messages per day to Microsoft customers alone. While most were blocked as part of the 600 million cyberattacks Microsoft stops daily, a small percentage may have reached inboxes. Microsoft filed civil lawsuits in the United States and the United Kingdom to seize the domains powering the RedVDS marketplace and obtain information about its operators and users. German authorities seized the backend server behind the marketplace, and Microsoft is partnering with Europol to target the broader network of servers and payment systems supporting RedVDS customers. As services like RedVDS continue to emerge, Microsoft will keep working with partners across sectors and borders to identify and disrupt the infrastructure behind cyber‑enabled fraud, making it harder for criminals to profit and easier for people and organizations to stay safe online: https://msft.it/6042t7nDA

On April 20, Microsoft starts the broad rollout of Security Copilot included in Microsoft 365 E5. 400 SCU per month for every 1,000 paid user licenses. Auto-provisioned. Zero-click. No Azure setup, no capacity planning, no provisioning ticket. If you had E5, you now have agentic AI across Defender, Entra, Intune, and Purview. Chat, promptbooks, Agent Builder, APIs. All of it. ⚠️ The catch most people are missing: 400 SCU per 1,000 users is not unlimited. That's 0.4 SCU per user per month. One active analyst can drain a 400-SCU allocation in days, not weeks. Overage lands at $6/SCU pay-as-you-go. Monthly reset, no rollover. The other catch: Sentinel-only shops without E5 get nothing. Microsoft drew a hard line. E5 is the AI-native security bundle. 🎯 Where is Microsoft heading with this? Security Copilot is the interface across every Microsoft security product. Every Defender, Entra, Purview, and Intune workflow gets an agent. The standalone portal becomes the landing strip for customers who haven't consolidated on E5 yet. ⚡ What to do the week your tenant activates: Start with the highest-ROI, lowest-SCU agents. Phishing triage in Defender. Conditional Access optimization in Entra. Access reviews. Get usage data before anyone decides what "real ROI" means for your SOC.
