Others have come out before. This guy did not do this because he doesn't believe in the process. He doesn't believe in MS handing it properly and he's not making that up. We all know that. So this is whistle blowing not just vulnerability disclosure. MS gets away with this crap because we let them. Move your workloads off.

All these concepts are gone with quantum computing except that you need a traditional computer in front of it to do anything. Photonic is also a thing but not different in concept just in the components. I think the big shift will be biological computing which there is active research on. I did see one example at the UIUC Grainger startup contest. Apparently it's enough of a thing for a startup to develop a process for producing neurons at scale. I can find the company for you. But AI has taught us that knowledge and reason are just a form of data compression and biology is far better at that than silicon.

Stel Valavanis liked thisStel Valavanis liked thisAnthropic just released a new model that beats GPT 5.5 at coding tasks, which likely, by extension, means hacking. But the more interesting announcement was buried at the bottom of the press release. Anthropic plan to make the model that powers Mythos available to all customers. This'll be the point where we see how overblown the cybersecurity industry's fearmongering has been as threat actors get their first opportunity to leverage Mythos-like capabilities. I'm be paying close attention in both my capacity as a principal threat analysts at Expel, as well as a vulnerability researcher. Should be interesting, but relatively uneventful compared to expectations.

Stel Valavanis liked thisStel Valavanis liked thisSince the modern PC was created, we have been going off the same architecture: CPU, RAM, GPU, Storage, etc. This has worked well for us until this point in the human technology journey. What if the answer for this next version of the Internet isn't more mining to make chips and only more power to supply data centers as they exist today? This is way beyond my intelligence, but what if the architecture we have is incorrect for where we are going. We are trying to solve the next iteration of the modern age and technology utilizing the same architecture of CPU, RAM, GPU, Storage, etc. What if that is wrong? What if the new way doesn't use CPU anymore or GPU anymore? It's an entirely new yet to be invented thing. Is anyone much more intelligent me thinking about and posting about this? Are there companies working on it? If so, where is research and information about this thinking? I'd be fascinated to follow it.

This art work was a theater, the Morgellon, installed at Fringe Exhibitions in L.A.'s Chinatown gallery district. The theater was built to show Disembody.
