One of the frustrations I ran into while working with Constellation was trying to build a graph based on data coming from a REST D-Page. It was cool in Cosmos. Not so much in Constellation. Then a few days ago I saw hot reload support for Pega DX components being available. Well… had to see that with my own eyes. So I thought: “Can I build the graph component I originally wanted, while running the DX component from a local dev server with hot reload directly into Pega Cloud/App Studio?” Maybe this is all easy and ootb in 25.1.2 now. I honestly don’t know yet. I used Claude Code with some DX component examples + a lightweight RAG setup against Pega docs and let it build most of the component almost from scratch. Anyway, I prepared a short video demo showing some of this stuff.

Yesterday I heard a former public tech exec call Pega Blueprint "Claude Code Meets Enterprise Workflow Automation" - I wouldn't say that is a perfect comparison but if you've spent time with tools like Claude Code then I can see how the experience would be familiar. Most importantly - what we generate with Blueprint here is going to be predictable and compliant at scale because of how we manage these workflows... but more on that later. Today I'm back with another Pega Blueprint quick look - this time with a focus on taking what you already have documented today (ex. BPMN from legacy system, or even a process drawn on a whiteboard) and how quickly we can go from diagram into an AI-assisted collaboration space with the business. I'll be sharing more quick looks at Blueprint as we go - follow for more!

***Explain Data Joins in Pega to a 4 year old*** . . . Imagine you have two books. One book has the names of your friends. Another book has the toys they like. If you want to know which toy Riya likes, you look at both books and match the name “Riya.” When you match information from two different places using something common, that is called a join. In Pega CDH, we match customer information the same way. ***Technical Definition In Pega Customer Decision Hub, a Data Join is used in a Decision Strategy to combine data from multiple data sources using a common key. The join is typically performed using a Data Join shape in the strategy canvas. The matching is done using shared identifiers such as: CustomerID AccountID PolicyNumber Data joins allow the system to create a unified dataset by combining: Customer profile data Account information Transaction history Interaction history Product or offer data This unified dataset is then used to apply engagement policies, calculate propensities, filter actions, and perform arbitration. Without data joins, decisioning would operate on isolated datasets, preventing accurate and contextual Next-Best-Action decisions. Example: Banking A bank wants to offer a credit card upgrade. The strategy joins: Customer profile data (using CustomerID) Account data (using CustomerID) Transaction data (using AccountID) After the join, the system evaluates spending behavior, checks eligibility, calculates propensity, and ranks the offer. To summarize: Data Joins in Pega CDH enable unified, context-aware decisioning by combining multiple datasets using a common key. They are essential for building accurate, personalized Next-Best-Action strategies.
