You might despise Notion because of your past experiences And I get it, it's a platform to learn like any other But time and time again you see massive creators use it for their business and think, "Why can't I get it?" Actual valid question because one thing that works for you, may not work for someone else I've used Notion for the last 7 years, built hundreds of databases and workspaces So here's my honest advice on what you should use Notion for and what you shouldn't ✅ FOR ➞ Store your company and client calls, using AI meeting notes and databases to easily organise all the calls you are having ➞ Have your company wiki or SOPs to help the team learn and understand the company more ➞ Company goals, vision and ICP (basically a deeper understanding of your business) ➞ Content Calendar ➞ Client profiles and trackers (to see your full client base and anything that's happening with them) ➞ AI voicenotes to summarise and help you come up with ideas ➞ Simple CRM and Project Management ❌ NOT FOR ➞ Complex CRMs (use a dedicated one, especially if you are dealing with hundreds of people) ➞ Complex Project Management (although Notion has good features for smaller teams with projects, when you have massive teams, there may be better options) ➞ Spreadsheet work (Notion is focused more on databases rather than cells, so stick to sheets for this sort of stuff) Notion isn't for everyone, but it has some of the best features out there and why so many you see use it You can waste all your time trying to build these insane databases but keep it simple and focus on taking action If you want to take Notion seriously, drop me a dm and let's chat about it

Is your decision process lighting fires of trust, or burning down your remote culture? This's what I’ve learned from 50+ podcast chats with CEOs & CHROs of SME. What if I told you that you want your team to trust your decision PROCESS more than your actual decision? Hmmm. Years ago, I thought success was all about metrics. A growing pipeline. Top-line revenue. Promotions. If the numbers were great, surely culture and loyalty would follow — right? Wrong. Then I lost one of my best staff members — someone the company really needed at that time. She was great with people. I’ll never forget what she said: "It wasn’t the decision that made me leave. It was how the decision was made." Great kick in the butt. That conversation was a total eye-opener, and I discovered something that reshaped my approach to leadership: Trust isn’t built when outcomes look great. Trust is built in the PROCESS itself. Here is what I try to do today: (unless I forget) Create transparency in my decision-making process. Teams aren't inspired by "we nailed the outcome." They find meaning in seeing the 'why' and the 'how'—even during failure. Reframe measures of success: If we only reward people for outcomes but never assess the soundness of their process for making decisions, we signal that our priorities are superficial. My truth? Processes build culture and create safety for staff to thrive. It’s not perfection to me that keeps A-players committed — it’s seeing ethics and care reflected in every decision I make. Let’s be transparent to a fault if you ask me. Even the most thriving organizations risk eroding culture when “outcomes at all costs” dominate accountability structures. I see quite a few businesses still treating “hiring” freelancers like hiring employees: applications, job postings, endless hoops. Friends, I say this out of love, freelancers aren't looking for a job. They're running a business. That means the best way to work with freelancers isn't to post a "position" and wait for resumes. It's to start a conversation. ✔️ Share your project or challenge, budget or budget range, and need-by date. ✔️ Look at portfolios and testimonials. ✔️ Schedule a discovery call or communicate via email (your choice!). ✔️ Decide together if there's a fit. It's faster, more collaborative, and it respects the fact that you're working with a professional, not a potential hire. When businesses shift from "posting jobs" to building partnerships, they open the door to better results, smoother collaboration, and long-term relationships. Freelancers don't want to apply. They want to contribute. And when you work with them like the business owners they are, you both win.

Recording artists - did you know it's ILLEGAL to release a song you don't control 100% publishing on without doing a mechanical license with other publishers? That includes cover songs you didn't write at all, as well as songs you co-write with someone else. (YES - your cowrites!!!). Even if you make no money on the recording, you fully credit the other writers and/or you just post it to Youtube or Spotify - you're legally liable if you have no mechanical license!
