“I am glad that I had the opportunity to work with Mukund who mentored me as as part of the Women in IT program. As a mid-level IT leader, I had done well at work, but didn’t have aspirations for career advancement. My exposure to parallel streams or other projects was limited, and I had concerns about my language and accent when interacting with customers. My main focus was delivering projects with high quality, and I didn't participate in industry-related events or engage in further learning. However, once Mukund started working with me on a structured mentoring plan, a transformation began. I shifted my focus to exploring other activities and businesses within the organization, actively expanding my network and establishing connections. I developed greater confidence in my communication skills and effectively engaged with customers, even in challenging situations. I embraced participation in all activities outside of the project. I realized that there were many ways to optimize my performance through a more effective team structure. This resulted in fewer direct reports and I started managing my time more effectively. I was able to start looking at the big picture and began to understand the importance of aligning with the overall organization’s goals. I began asking relevant questions in forums and actively engaged in other org activities. Throughout this journey, Mukund consistently supported me, attending sessions on time, creating a supportive environment, and helping me focus on the vision of my current organization. By embracing this transformation journey, I have gained valuable insights, expanded my horizons, and grown both personally and professionally. I am excited to continue this journey of growth and make a positive impact in my organization and beyond. I am grateful to Mukund’s guidance throughout this process and I hope that one day, I too will pay forward by helping emerging women IT leaders.”
