Sam Vogel shared thisLooking forward to attending Talking Hedge Events Chicago and hearing Francis (Frank) Kelly as keynote speaker again. I thoroughly enjoyed the Austin event. Sam Vogel reacted on thisI'll be back at CTA Expo in Chicago on October 6th with Adam Passaglia and Andrew Hallett. This year our focus is Manager Sourcing. We are actively looking for systematic CTAs and Managed Futures managers for both ARB Trading Group (prop side) and ARB Asset Management. What gets our attention: • Live, verifiable performance, preferably 2+ years • Daily data and clear attribution • Disciplined risk management • Liquid, scalable strategies • Something differentiated enough to add value alongside what we already run Frank Pusateri made a good point in a recent article. Managers often prepare heavily for presentations, but not for the conversations around them. Be clear about what you trade, where your edge comes from, what the bad periods look like and how you mitigated them, and why your strategy would complement a broader portfolio. If you are a manager and are attending and think your program fits, please message Adam or me before Chicago to arrange a meeting.

Sam Vogel reacted on thisSam Vogel reacted on thisOne Barrel in Seven or Eight of Global Diesel Export Capacity Has Been Removed this October. One barrel in seven to one barrel in eight. That's how much global diesel export capacity has been simultaneously removed this October. Russia banned diesel exports through October 31. China suspended all October fuel exports on September 30. The Persian Gulf war continues to bottleneck Middle Eastern product flows. Three of the worlds major diesel-supplying regions have simultaneously withdrawn from the export market — and that is the number that explains a $6.53/gal US record, a NY Harbor refining margin at an all-time high, and distillate stocks at their lowest seasonal level since 1951. For the corn and wheat farmer heading into harvest, the cost table in AgResources updated Diesel report tells the story: at $7 diesel — where the market effectively sits — the high-yield corn farm is paying $49–$54/acre more than a year ago in fuel and freight combined. Thats not a projection. It's the current row. Now add what the market models don''t capture: 16 US trucking companies filed for bankruptcy in the last 30 days. Eight liquidated permanently under Chapter 7. Over 1,000 vehicles removed from the road — at the peak of harvest season. The freight scarcity premium on top of the diesel cost is real and rising. The real problem is just beginning. The updated report is free and available from tierney@agresource.com Visit the AgResource Company’s web site and check out our products and services. Sam Vogel liked thisSam Vogel liked thisYou shouldn't have to fight your own team to do your job. On the eve of the 2023 World Championships, Swimming South Africa demanded that Tatjana Smith, South Africa’s most decorated Olympian, race in their sponsor’s gear instead of her own. But Tatjana had never even trained in the new suits. So she made the choice to swim in her Speedo gear. And instead of celebrating her, Swimming South Africa slapped her with an R856,000 fine and withheld her $35,000 prize money for a whole year. If she had brought in lawyers to fight for her money right then, she also risked being suspended and missing the Paris Olympics entirely. So, she made a choice. She refused to let poor administration destroy her life's work. She locked her eyes on the horizon, dove into the pool in Paris, and won gold anyway. In life, you will inevitably face unfair hurdles and turbulence you didn't create. And you might want to stop and fight every single battle the moment it appears. But sometimes, the best thing is to forget about everyone else's expectations and just focus on the horizon. You cannot always control the chaos around you, but you can always control how you ride the wave. Block out the blundering bureaucrats, do what you came to do, and fight the rest of the battles when your feet are back on solid ground. Go for the gold Tatjana!

Sam Vogel liked thisSam Vogel liked thisI'm so tired of seeing ugly AI decks. A guy on X said every Claude deck proves McKinsey consultants were artists, not quants. And honestly? He's right. I still make all of mine with AI, but not on Claude. I only use it to think. Instead, I build the slides in Gamma: 1. Go to Gamma .app 2. Do not start prompting right away. 3. Start with a template. 4. Pick "Leadership Keynote" (my favorite). 5. Click "Create from template." 6. Now, open Claude to figure out your topic. 7. Click "Copy page as markdown." Claude is brilliant at thinking, but with zero taste. 8. Paste it into the first line on the left on Gamma. 9. Type: "Make an 11-slide deck with the following topic that I'm sharing right after." 10. Paste your Claude chat below it. 11. Now Gamma uses your ideas & does the art part. Ask for 11 slides. → 20 is too long. Nobody remembers slide 14. → 11 works for me every time. Fix the images before you generate. → Scroll to the bottom of the left panel. → Click Visuals → AI image → ChatGPT. → Pick these 3: Photos. Texture rich. Depth of field. This is the step everyone skips & then wonders why their deck looks like a 2019 stock photo website. Generate. Then click present mode. → Press Escape to change anything. → Add a bullet and the slide fixes its layout by itself. I still can't believe this part works. Using AI to make slides is fine. But your deck failed for 2 reasons: → You had no clear idea before you started. → You asked the quant to be the artist. ♻️ Repost this so your boss stops sending you Claude decks.

Locksley Resources Locksley Resources Limited $LKY.AX | OTCQX: LKYRF | FSE: X5L Strong Momentum Building for Locksley Resources Recent developments underscore the company’s rapid progress toward establishing a fully integrated, U.S.-based critical minerals supply chain for antimony and rare earth elements (REEs): • Oversubscribed A$17M Capital Raise (Dec 8): Led by prominent U.S. institutional investors, providing a robust war chest to accelerate mine-to-market execution. • EOI Process Launched for Desert Antimony Pilot Plant (Dec 11): Engaging Tier 1 U.S. engineering partners to advance the 2026 scoping study and pilot-scale design. • Appointment of Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mark C. Schwartz as Strategic Advisor (Dec 14): Bringing decades of senior U.S. military expertise to guide defense, national security, and federal funding initiatives. With these milestones secured, 2026 is set for key advancements: pilot-scale antimony production, ongoing metallurgical optimization, targeted drilling at high-priority prospects, and scaling domestic supply of critical antimony and REEs—perfectly aligned with U.S. national security and supply chain priorities. SHAMROCK MINING DAILY BRIEF Date: Tuesday, February 10, 2026 Price & futures curve • Spot gold: ~$5,040–$5,055/oz, slightly lower on the day but still near historic levels. • Front‑month COMEX: April futures recently settled above $5,079/oz, reclaiming the $5,000 level after late‑January volatility. • Forward curve: Remains in modest contango, indicating normal cost‑of‑carry pricing and no physical‑delivery stress. • Market context: Gold is ~9–10% higher month‑over‑month and ~74% year‑over‑year, after hitting a record near $5,600/oz in January. ⸻ Derivatives & positioning • Open interest (OI): COMEX OI around ~400k contracts, with a small daily increase, suggesting gradual position rebuilding. • Volatility: IV (implied volatility) remains elevated following January’s sharp selloff and rebound. • Positioning signal: Markets continue stabilizing after speculative‑long liquidation triggered by policy‑expectation shifts and margin changes. ⸻ Physical bullion market & plumbing • ETF flows: January recorded ~$19B inflows into global gold ETFs — the strongest monthly inflow on record. • Investor allocation: Gold ETF inflows globally have surged as investors hedge equity volatility and macro uncertainty. • Central‑bank demand: China’s central bank extended its gold‑buying streak to 15 consecutive months, reinforcing structural demand. • COMEX/LBMA: No inventory‑stress or delivery‑tightness indicators reported. ⸻ Macro drivers • USD: Gold supported by a weaker U.S. dollar near multi‑year lows, reinforcing safe‑haven demand. • Policy risk: Ongoing debate about Federal Reserve independence and future rate cuts remains a major gold‑market catalyst. • Geopolitics & allocation: Fiscal uncertainty and global central‑bank diversification continue to underpin bullion demand. ⸻ Mining equity tape • Gold‑miner equities: Continued inflows into gold‑miner ETFs (~$3.6B in January) highlight investor demand for leveraged exposure to bullion prices. • Sector outlook: Elevated gold prices continue supporting project economics, exploration budgets, and capital‑markets activity across the mining sector. ⸻ Tokenized‑gold note • On‑chain bullion markets: Tokenized gold trading volume reached roughly $178B in 2025, growing faster than most other tokenized real‑world assets. • Academic and market research suggests tokenized gold tracks spot‑market pricing closely while enabling 24/7 global trading and fractional ownership.

China’s largest smelters are agreeing to cut output. Negative treatment and refining fees don’t happen in healthy markets. They happen when supply tightens to the point where processors lose leverage and are forced to pull back. At the same time, demand is not theoretical. It’s anchored in real projects: grid expansions, AI-driven infrastructure, EV manufacturing, housing, industrial upgrades — all of it metal-intensive, all of it compounding. What we have now is a rare alignment: • Constrained refined output • Structural demand growth • Low inventories • A decade of underinvestment in new supply Individually, these factors create pressure. Together, they form the kind of setup that often precedes meaningful moves in markets like copper. https://lnkd.in/eVtfs4fy
