I had the chance to host an event at Bibliobar yesterday, and it was such a meaningful experience. Chelsea and Joy were incredibly welcoming, and the entire team created a space that felt warm, intentional, and full of community.
One of the first people to greet me was my coworker
Hannah. She walked in with a big smile and said, “Hi! How can I help you?” and instantly jumped in. That kind of support means more than I can put into words. It set the tone for the whole afternoon.
We even had a couple of lighthearted moments while setting up. The store was getting new cameras installed — sometimes you get help when you can get it 📷 — so there was a bit of drilling. We also had to shift a few chairs so I wouldn’t keep bumping my head on the chandelier. A tall-girl problem that follows me everywhere 😅.
Once things settled, the room filled quickly. Friends arrived. New faces arrived. I read two sections from Finding Jensen: the chapter about my name and a short piece on self compassion that helped introduce the afternoon’s craft. 🫙
The craft portion was one of my favorite parts. A group in the back created some truly beautiful affirmation jars with the small supplies I brought. Their creativity and thoughtfulness were inspiring ✨.
I spent the rest of the event signing books, sharing stories, answering questions, and connecting with people who came to listen, learn, and create together. Moments like this remind me why I wrote the book. Community matters. Empathy matters. Being seen matters. 💚
Thank you to Bibliobar for hosting me so warmly, and thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to show up. I’m still carrying the joy of it.
