Phil Ye, CPSM, MBA shared thisI ran a full mock company‑level AI readiness assessment as part of my AI Consulting accreditation, and even though I used an intentionally oversized business scope, the experience turned out to be incredibly valuable. The diagnostic surfaced a wide range of gaps—missing KPIs, no predictive maintenance, limited analytics, weak automation, unclear CX strategy, and infrastructure constraints. But the real insight wasn’t the list of weaknesses. It was seeing how a structured assessment can open the door to meaningful conversations with real business owners. Most small and medium businesses know AI matters, but they don’t know where to start. A tool like this gives them a clear snapshot of where they stand and what’s blocking progress. It turns vague curiosity into concrete discussion. It also showed me what my role as an AI Consultant is becoming: not just explaining AI, but helping companies map their readiness, prioritize what matters, and build a transformation path that fits their size, resources, and ambition. This exercise made my own progress visible. I’m moving from learning AI concepts to diagnosing real business conditions, identifying capability gaps, and translating AI into practical, revenue‑relevant steps. It’s the shift from theory to applied strategy—exactly what modern businesses need as they navigate AI adoption. As I continue the accreditation journey, I’m gaining confidence that I can help new and existing businesses build their AI foundations, adopt the right tools, and transform with intention rather than hype. It feels like the beginning of a meaningful new chapter.

Applied AI requires $5M and domain expertise. One of these is accessible to 99% of founders. The other isn't.
