As I wrap up my summer internship at
Wesleyan Investment Foundation, I'm grateful for an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute alongside a talented team.
This summer gave me hands-on experience across cybersecurity, IT operations, identity management, network infrastructure, automation, documentation, and governance. What stated as an opportunity to learn quickly became a chance to make meaningful contributions while developing both technical and professional skills.
Internship highlights:
Created tech stack of the company through AI, helping upper management be able to make more informed decisions on the company
Created and implemented a Conditional Access Policy to help with monitoring and security of company devices
Audited Microsoft Intune enrollment status and developed documentation for Intune access management
Assisted with Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Entra ID, and SCIM provisioning
Participated in a cybersecurity tabletop exercise, helping strengthen incident response and security preparedness
Participated in Information Security meetings reviewing risk management practices, risk register, and NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks
Managed internal DNS records and developed documentation for DNS alias administration
Diagnosed and resolved a network outage caused by a failover configuration issue
Evaluated recommendations for improving vulnerability detection and remediation workflows
Leveraged NinjaOne to automate software deployments, endpoint maintenance, patching, and cleanup tasks
Developed a website to improve company workflows
Developed SOPs to have documentation on what to in the future if problems arise
Built SharePoint resources to improve user support, troubleshooting, and security awareness.
Helped improve operational processes by combining automation, documentation, and security best practices
Leveraged AI to improve workflow and troubleshoot problems
Most importantly, I learned that success in IT and Cybersecurity isn't just about technology. It's about communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and continually learning from others.
