Only the journey.” Jeremy Andrus shares the lesson he wishes he’d learned 20 years earlier: Career, retirement, life, none of it is about reaching an endpoint. The moment you stop labeling moments as “good” or “bad,” you start to see them all as part of the experience. Neal Harmon reposted thisNeal Harmon reposted thisFollowing a legendary startup journey that some might describe as miraculous, Angel Studios (ANGX) debuted on the NYSE today and will continue telling stories that amplify light. The Harmon brothers and their team are among the most dedicated, talented and persevering entrepreneurs I have ever had the privilege of supporting and I couldn’t be more excited to see what they do next as a public company. I made Kickstart’s seed investment in Angel while I was still finishing graduate school in early 2014 and spent over a decade on the board of directors. At the time, I had no idea the perilous path the company would need to navigate to get to this point and I still stand in awe of the founders’ heroic efforts to bring this company to the world. Godspeed, the work has just begun! Neal Harmon Jeffrey Harmon Angel Liz Ellis, PCC Patrick Reilly

Neal Harmon shared thisPassion is the new goal post.Neal Harmon shared thisMove The Goalposts John Malone invented EBITDA in the ‘70s to obscure expense in his business, to make it appear more profitable, and to reap bigger bonuses & richer share prices. Not for nothing, the Gordon Gekkos of the ‘80s adopted this and other BS metrics for destructive leveraged buyouts. In related news, Malone recently admitted he “didn’t do enough diligence” before his Discovery Inc bought Warner Media, setting $45 bil on fire and destroying thousands of careers. EBITDA is one of myriad examples (MAUs, CTRs, Reach, Scale) of industry leaders using a convoluted language of vanity metrics, specifically intended to fool Wall St. into pumping up stocks & convince boards to raise C-Suite Pay. (See David Zaslav’s entire career.) The pathological dedication to the useless talismans of this tower of blather, is a chief reason why the Media - so long run by these frat bros with eyes wide shut - is in such deep shit right now. Resistance to how we speak about and measure our businesses, in the face of massive generational change and technological disruption, is the greatest threat to the Media ecosystem. My #1 goal in the year ahead is to put an end to this BS: To change the language, the metrics, and the game so they truly reflect the time we are in, rather than a time gone by. In the user-centric era, we MUST adopt new metrics, focused FANDOM - we must measure the LOVE audiences show for our content. If you think “dear boy, you can’t measure love,” you’re WRONG boomer. Not only CAN we measure love, in an era where consumers - not execs - control the Media, when artists have intense direct connection with their fans; PASSION is the ONLY metric that matters. So, what does THAT look like? Like Angel Studios: The indie film studio dedicated to values-based content, home of the enormous hit Sound Of Freedom. In the last 3 years, Angel has realized fewer theatrical films than most other major indies. Yet, they are second ONLY to A24 (who had 5X more releases) in total B.O. More impressively, Angel has THE HIGHEST per release B.O. average of ANY indie studio on earth - 3X that of A24; 15X NEON. Is Angel just better at choosing movies? NO! In fact the execs at Angel DO NOT pick the movies they make - their FANS do. If Angel’s 1.5 million Guild Members do not greenlight a film, Angel DOES NOT make it. (That sound you hear is executive butts clenching all over Hollywood.) Angel’s fans LOVE Angel - not JUST their movies. So much so they invest their OWN MONEY in the studio. Through a Reg A+ offering last month. Angel raised $55 MILLION in 18 DAYS from 47K REAL PEOPLE (aka non-accredited investors). AND THAT, specifically, is HOW you measure PASSION. THAT is a new model for this new era. THAT is the future of Media. To dig into the Angel model and learn how to measure passion, see the link at the top of this post. #movies #film #fandom

After winning over the heartland with the 2023 trafficking thriller Sound of Freedom which posted a 3-day of $19.6M (and a six-day start of $41.6M), the values-based media company posted its best opening for a live-action feature with Jon Erwin’s historical period pic, Young Washington, which conquered its $15M forecast with a $20.8M opening. Director, producer and co-writer Jon Erwin (I Can Only Imagine) hit social to announce that a Revolutionary War follow-up, 1776, is already in the works.” — Deadline Hollywood Seeing audiences across the country embrace Young Washington during our nation’s 250th anniversary celebration has been incredibly meaningful. This milestone is a testament to the power of great storytelling and to our outstanding partners at Wonder Project and 2521 Entertainment, who helped bring this remarkable film to life. Neal Harmon liked thisNeal Harmon liked thisAdvice from someone I love and admire held me back for years. The worst part? I never saw it coming. His advice to me was, to some effect: “Dallin, you give people too much grace.” You need to fire faster, hold less grace, and be harder nosed. I remember sitting with that for years. “Was I missing out on opportunities by not showing up that way?” “Was my kindness and compassion limiting me in some way?” Every time I made a call that felt kind instead of ruthless, some part of me wondered if was living beneath my potential as a leader. Keep in mind, this person has given me feedback in the past that has been very useful and on point. He often could see things I couldn’t, he had built things I hadn't, and in his mind, this was the missing piece. The problem? It never was the real me. But I kept telling myself it would become me, eventually, if I just pushed through it. Here's the truth I discovered instead. What you were made to do, It is different than I was made to do. I could never serve people that way I do today… the impact, the lives I help change, the people I get to serve, if I wasn’t kind, compassionate and giving people grace. They wouldn’t trust me to share their deepest struggles. They wouldn't share what is actually holding them back in life, If I wasn’t being the real authentic me. Not despite the grace I give people. Because of it. Kindness and grace was never the problem. It was the gift I almost talked myself out of using. You cannot comprehend what you are truly capable of when you stop apologizing for the God-given gifts you were given to serve and bless others. Sometimes advice from people who love you most, Is not the right advice for you. You know what is right for you, every time? Learn to discern between signal and noise, Develop the ability to receive more light and truth meant for you. Trust your instincts and God-given gifts, And it will take you places you never dreamed possible. Rooting for you.

It is titled 1776 and will be centered on the American Revolutionary War. The news comes after the movie’s $20.8 million opening weekend, which is distributor Angel Studios’ second-best domestic debut of all time. Neal Harmon liked thisNeal Harmon liked thisThe world often celebrates the man, today I am celebrating the woman that helped make my life possible. Today is my wife’s birthday, and as I look at our family, our home, our children, and the life we are building together, one truth keeps hitting me deeply: Nearly everything good in my life has her fingerprints all over it. You probably wouldn’t believe me if I told you she has birthed six children, anesthesia-free. Crazy, right? But that's only a glimpse of who she is. She saw the man I could become, Long before I ever did. She loved and saw me long before I really understood myself. She overlooked my weaknesses, my shortcomings, my straight-up stupidity at times. The inconsiderate things I said. The false beliefs I carried for years. The generational patterns I didn’t even realize were shaping me. She didn’t cause those things. She helped me break them. I relied on her steadiness, belief, faith, patience and her emotional strength while I was still learning how to truly trust myself and rely more on God. In a world that celebrates titles, promotions, influence, income, and public success - particularly for men. I am convinced more than ever that the most sacred and important work happens quietly inside the walls of your own home. The prayers nobody hears. The countless meals and messes. The tears of pain and the joyful laughter nobody sees except family. The hard conversations to support someone in need that is not widely known. The sleepless and exhausted days and nights that would stretch even the strongest person. Aside from God Himself, Nobody will have a greater impact and influence on your life, career and future than the person you choose to build your life with. Together you will have legacy, leadership and love. My wife has poured her heart and soul into our family in ways most people will never fully understand. And, she is my best friend in the whole world. While most people celebrate what they can see. Today, I am celebrating the woman behind so much of what matters most and will never be seen. Happy birthday, babe. I love you through all generations of time and throughout all eternity.

Neal Harmon liked thisNeal Harmon liked thisFor nearly three years at Angel Studios, I’ve had a front row seat to how stories are built and what it takes to bring them to life. This past weekend, Young Washington, a project I’ve watched from its earliest stages, opened nationwide. On July 4th, it reached #2 at the box office and grossed nearly $21M over the holiday weekend. That kind of outcome reflects disciplined execution and a team committed to values driven storytelling. I connect with young Washington in a personal way. I’ve had to earn my seat at the table. That pressure continues to sharpened how I think, contribute, and lead. At Angel, I’m in an environment that expects more, and gives you the chance to rise to it. It is thrilling! In Investor Relations, I’m expanding that growth further. Next month, I’m excited to begin my Executive MBA at Brigham Young University. Learning. Building. Growing. #ANGX

Neal Harmon liked thisNeal Harmon liked thisWatching Young Washington in the city named after him, at the Kennedy Center, was an absolutely phenomenal experience! The energy in the room was incredible. One of my favorite moments came when George Washington called out to his fellow Virginians, and the audience erupted in cheers. That moment captured what makes this film so powerful. It is not just a story about history. It is a story about courage, failure, redemption, leadership, and the formation of the character that helped shape our nation. I was grateful to attend this special screening and to see such an explosive response from the audience. A huge thank you to Keith Krach, Vince Haley, Brittany Baldwin, Lilly Gillespie, Dennis Leavitt, Lex Howard, Mike Strong, Michelle Miles, Sarah Hyde, Michael Jenkins, Kelly Shelton, Sebastian Hoffman and all those who helped make this happen. Young Washington arrives in theaters July 3rd, just in time to celebrate America’s 250th birthday on July 4th. I can’t think of a better way for families, students, and communities to mark the occasion than by experiencing this film together on Independence Day.

I work with teams who have plenty of data but still have to decide what to change next.

In marketing, information isn’t scarce. The harder part is that signals arrive out of sync, and decisions still have to hold. Product data points one way. Growth metrics point another. Customer feedback shows up late, filtered, or after the decision was already made. Each input makes sense on its own. Together, they don’t form a clear move.

A decision still has to be made.

I’ve spent a long time working inside that tension.

Since the early 2000s, I’ve co-founded and built several SaaS companies, including Crazy Egg, KISSmetrics, and Nira. Nira was acquired by Dropbox, where I later worked on product and growth for AI products. Across all of that work, the same pattern kept showing up.

Inside larger teams, decisions often sound solid in the moment. The trouble starts later. The context behind earlier calls fades. The constraints that mattered at the time don’t travel. Reasoning gets simplified, rewritten, or lost entirely. When questions resurface, teams argue about direction instead of revisiting the original judgment.

I’m now back as CEO of Crazy Egg. The work there focuses on keeping teams close to what users actually do, especially when opinions start to harden. When user behavior stays visible, decisions tend to settle. When it disappears, debates stretch and momentum softens.

That pattern shows up across most of what I work on.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how GTM leaders make decisions when product direction, growth pressure, and market narrative pull in different directions. Information is incomplete. Costs are uneven. Timing rarely feels generous. What matters is whether a decision holds long enough for a team to move.

If you’re responsible for aligning product, growth, and messaging and feel the weight of getting it wrong, this is the layer I spend my time in.

If your website isn’t generating leads, the problem usually starts way earlier than conversions. It starts with impressions. Most business owners don’t know what impressions are or why they matter so much. So let’s clear that up. What impressions actually mean An impression is simple: It’s how many times your website appears in search results. Not clicks. Not visits. How many eye balls have seen your website. Every time your page shows up when someone searches, that’s an impression. And if impressions are low, traffic will always be low. No exceptions. Why impressions matter more than people think You can’t get clicks without impressions. You can’t get leads without clicks. You can’t grow without leads. Impressions are the top of the funnel. They tell you: • how often your business is being seen • whether search engines trust your pages • if you’re even in the conversation When impressions are flat, growth is capped. What I usually see in struggling websites In real accounts, the pattern looks like this: • impressions barely move • traffic is inconsistent • owners focus on conversions too early • the real issue is visibility and gets ignored The site isn’t broken. It’s just not being shown. Why increasing impressions changes everything When impressions increase: • more people discover your services • more clicks naturally follow • brand familiarity grows • trust builds before contact • leads become easier to generate Even a small increase in impressions can unlock a big increase in traffic over time. Impressions don’t grow from one “perfect” page. They grow when you: • create pages for specific services and problems • cover topics in depth • add supporting content consistently • organize your site structure clearly • link related pages together Each page is another opportunity to be seen. That’s why websites with more structure and depth always outperform thin sites. If your website isn’t getting business, don’t start by asking: “Why isn’t anyone converting?” Start by asking: “How many people are even seeing us?” Increase impressions first. Traffic follows. Leads come after. Visibility is the foundation. Everything else depends on it.

Partnership Marketing… • 12K followers
Founders: most affiliate and partner programs don’t fail because of bad software. They fail because the hard part was never the software. PRM and affiliate platforms are often bought with the expectation that they create growth. Integrate the tool, invite partners, and revenue shows up. That’s rarely how it works. The real bottleneck is almost always the same: no ready-to-go, high-quality partners. Software doesn’t bring partners to the table. It only manages the ones you already have. And the right partners don’t come from marketplaces or generic invites. They already have distribution, audience trust, and leverage—and they’re selective about what they promote. Finding them is a go-to-market problem, not a tech problem. It requires: • Knowing where your buyers actually get influenced • Understanding which partners can move revenue (not vanity signups) • Crafting a partner value proposition that makes sense for them • Direct, intentional outreach Even after onboarding, partners don’t perform by default. Activation is where most programs break down. Without clear messaging, enablement, and ongoing guidance, “signed partners” turn into inactive accounts you track in a dashboard. This is the part founders often underestimate. Partner recruitment and activation is either: A capability you intentionally build into the company or A specialised function you outsource But it’s not something software replaces. The companies with successful partner programs didn’t win because they picked the best tool. They won because they invested in partner strategy, recruitment, and relationships. PRM platforms help you scale what’s working. They don’t create it. If you’re thinking about launching or fixing a partner program, ask yourself: Do we actually know how to find, recruit, and activate the right partners? If the answer is no, the software isn’t the problem. #Founders #SaaSFounders #GrowthStrategy #GoToMarket #Partnerships #AffiliateMarketing #PartnerMarketing #ChannelSales #RevenueGrowth #StartupStrategy

Why Restricted & Regulated Brands Must Leverage Google Business Profile (GMB) Even if your brand falls under a restricted category (CBD, hemp, vape, kratom, supplements, etc.), Google Business Profile remains one of the safest and most effective ways to build visibility without paid ads. Here’s why: 🔹 1. Free Organic Visibility GMB helps restricted brands appear in local search results and Google Maps—no paid ads needed. 🔹 2. Builds Trust & Credibility Ratings, reviews, photos, and business info create instant trust, especially when paid advertising is limited. 🔹 3. Helps Customers Find You Easily Your phone number, website, service area, timings, and products are available in one trusted place. 🔹 4. Outrank Competitors Locally Most restricted brands do not optimize their GMB, which makes the ranking gap easy to win. 🔹 5. Safe Platform for Organic Lead Generation Google allows listing of legal regulated businesses—meaning customers can reach you directly through Calls, Messages, and Map directions. 🔹 6. Boosts SEO & Website Traffic A well-optimized GMB sends high-intent traffic directly to your website. If your restricted-category brand isn’t using GMB properly, you’re leaving free customers on the table. #SEO #GoogleBusinessProfile #LocalSEO #RestrictedBrands #CBDMarketing #HempBusiness #DigitalMarketing #GoogleMapsRanking #BrandVisibility #RegulatedProducts #MarketingTips #LinkedInPost #GrowthStrategies
