That is two nine-figure acquisitions in two weeks for Reggie Aggarwal and the Cvent team. It appears that ON24's impressive list of enterprise clients and proven online webinar platform was a perfect fit for Cvent, hot on the heels of acquiring Goldcast just two weeks ago. This level of consolidation is unheard of. At the peak of the Covid-driven rush to virtual event platforms there were a few notable of nine-figure funding rounds, but we may have just entered the next era for event tech. As Matthew Donegan-Ryan and Bob Vaez have noted, this could signal a push from owners Blackstone to go public once again with Cvent, or sell the company on. Definitely an interesting way to end to 2025 in event tech.

Thrilled to have joined the Enterprise AI Sales Collaboration Roundtable this morning featuring Executive Spotlight: Bill Warshowsky, beautifully organized by Cat Valverde. The session was practical, candid, and packed with insights about how enterprise buyers actually evaluate AI value, trust, and proof beyond pilot fatigue.​ A standout takeaway was the Human-in-the-Loop framing of where AI adds the most value across enterprise workflows. Kat Shoa 🎯’s model usefully segments work into: Relational, Analytical, and Transactional. This lens immediately connected to one of my PhD papers, “The Role of Social Media Content Format and Platform in Users’ Engagement Behavior,” where we categorized content into rational, emotional, and transactional types and showed how context moderates their effects on engagement across platforms. In that study, content taxonomy and platform fit materially shaped human behavior and outcomes, an empirical reminder that “where” and “how” content shows up matters as much as “what” it is.​ At Value Aligners, where we specialize in cybersecurity compliance and risk management for SMBs, this framework directly informs how we embed AI into compliance workflows, mapping relational tasks to human-led audits for trust-building with regulators, analytical AI for threat prediction and risk scoring under frameworks like NIST AI RMF, and transactional automation for continuous control monitoring with built-in human validation to prevent compliance drift or false positives. It underscores our approach to AI enablement: not just efficiency, but resilient governance that aligns tech with organizational priorities while mitigating emerging risks like adversarial AI attacks or biased decision support.​ Bridging these two domains suggests a fertile research and product space: 1- Mapping relational/emotional/transactional content to relational/analytical/transactional workflows to architect AI that enhances trust, cognition, and efficiency without eroding human agency, particularly in cybersecurity where AI-generated threat intelligence needs human oversight to counter novel attacks.​ 2- Designing AI guardrails so human oversight is purposeful: explainability for analytical tasks like vulnerability prioritization, escalation paths for relational decisions in incident response, and validation checkpoints for transactional automations in compliance reporting.​ 3- Measuring well-being and behavior outcomes as first-class metrics in AI enablement; how generated content influences societal, organizational, and individual health over time, not just click-through or cost savings, with cybersecurity angles like ensuring AI-assisted content doesn't inadvertently expose sensitive data or enable social engineering.​ Grateful to Bill for the enterprise buyer clarity and to Cat for curating a high-signal forum. Excited to explore collaborations at the intersection of HITL frameworks and content taxonomy.
