“I have had the privilege to work with Mike at SciQuest, and there are two things that stand out about him: 1. Mike knows how to manage, not only projects but his team members. He never micromanages, but knows when and how to give direction to his team. He also trusts the people under him to successfully handle their roles and responsibilities for a given project. This garners respect from his team members. 2. He works calmly under pressure. I never saw him upset or agitated even when I knew there was pressure due to time constraints or other pressures. Mike is a professional who possesses the management skills that will move projects and motivate the people under his supervision. I would gladly work under Mike's leadership again.”

The CMS Innovation Center is winding down four payment models — including two focused on primary care. At first glance, it might look like a step back from value-based care. But a closer look reveals a more deliberate strategy taking shape: 🔹 Fewer, more focused models 🔹 Greater emphasis on national, risk-bearing frameworks 🔹 Clearer alignment with long-term system transformation In this article by Gabe Drapos, Pearl Health's Chief Operating & Compliance Officer, and Michael M., VP of ACO Operations & Strategy, we break down why models like Primary Care First and Making Care Primary are ending — and what the continuation of ACO REACH tells us about where value-based care may be headed. 📖 Read the full analysis: https://lnkd.in/dSRp2fRB #valuebasedcare #primarycare #ACOREACH #healthpolicy #healthcareinnovation

Inductive Automation

Nashville's Room in the Inn (RITI) previously struggled with the logistical nightmare of using disparate software packages, spreadsheets, and emails to manage thousands of volunteers and homeless participants across 13 shelters. Despite Ignition not being a traditional choice for non-industrial software, integrator Vertech leveraged its expertise and the platform's strong community to create the solution. More than 150 volunteers worldwide contributed to the project, which was offered to RITI for free! The resulting Homeless Management Information System, deployed in October 2022, is now used daily by over 40 RITI staff to manage operations, provide services, and generate key performance indicators (KPIs) for continuous improvement. This successful initiative to help the homeless community ultimately inspired Inductive Automation's official Community Impact Program. Proud to share a compelling article from our CEO Jay Ackerman, featured in Healthcare IT Today "How Retrospective and Prospective Views Unite to Transform Risk Management." https://bit.ly/4jZKyRd In this piece, Jay breaks down why combining both retrospective and prospective analytics is essential for driving better performance in risk adjustment: 💡 Retrospective insights reveal what happened — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness. 💡 Prospective models predict what’s next — enabling earlier interventions and better outcomes. 💡 Together, they fuel smarter workflows, stronger data capture, and meaningful financial impact. For leaders navigating risk adjustment in value-based care, this is a must-read. #RiskAdjustment #ValueBasedCare #HealthcareAI #ProspectiveAnalytics #RetrospectiveData #VBCTransformation

This statement on information blocking could disrupt EHR vendors’ plans to corner the healthcare data exchange market. Here’s some quick background: EHR vendors like Epic, eCW, and Cerner set up (or are setting up) Qualified Health Information Networks (QHINs) that connect with other QHINs to form a national data exchange network. Healthcare provider organizations must decide whether to participate in the national network, and if they do, whether to join the QHIN that their EHR vendor offers or an independent one. It would have been tempting for the EHR+QHIN vendors to strongarm their provider clients into proprietary QHINs. The EHR vendors could have said things like: 🫸 “Choose our QHIN or you will be on your own to bring data from the national network into the EHR.” 💰 “You will have to pay us so much to ingest data from a competitor QHIN that you might as well join ours.” 🏆 “Joining our QHIN may be costly, but it would help you qualify for our Super Amazing Client Program and avoid costly EHR penalties. And we’ll waive our QHIN costs for a year or two.” ⏳“You could submit a request to bring data from a competing QHIN into the EHR, but it’s not really a priority for us and could take a while. Just join our QHIN.” The section of the FAQ document pictured below says that attempts to limit their customers’ ability to select a QHIN would be considered information blocking. EHR vendors that engage in such behavior could face monetary penalties and legal consequences. I agree with this guidance from ASPT/ONC. Providers and other organizations should be able to select the QHIN that offers the best services at the lowest price - not the QHIN that has the most leverage. EHR vendors that offer QHINs already have systems to connect with other QHINs to bring data into the EHR from the national network. They should allow their provider partners to bring life-saving clinical data into the EHR without forcing them into their QHINs. I’m looking forward to seeing whether the four-sentence FAQ response from ASTP/ONC will change the direction of the market on this. Perhaps you are reading this differently. What do you think? Will the EHR+QHIN vendors still convince most providers to join their QHINs? https://lnkd.in/gwgJTSvC
