A recent PayScale survey shows that women who refuse to disclose their current salary during an interview process actually receive lower offers than women who disclose. When men refuse to disclose, their offers are actually higher. This runs counter to what proponents of a salary history question ban expect, since the impetus for this type of legislation is actually to combat pay inequities. So, what can employers do to ensure offers are both fair and within their budget?
