Big news for everyone using Windows: From October, Windows 10 will no longer be supported. Here’s what it means for you and your business: 1. Windows 11 and TPM 2.0 Requirement: Mark your calendars for October 14th, 2025. From then on, Windows 11 will be the main operating system. Windows 11 comes with specific hardware requirements, particularly the need for TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module). This is essential for the enhanced security features in Windows 11, making your device safer and more reliable. If you decide to stick with Windows 10 after October, you can opt for a subscription for ongoing security updates. This is known as the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. 2. This Change Wasn't Sudden: The shift to Windows 11 started back in 2021, so it’s not completely unexpected. Many companies have already begun upgrading their systems in preparation, so the number of devices needing replacement now should be less than before. We’ve seen this trend with our clients, where the transition has become smoother. 3. Effects on Resale Markets: Older systems will no longer be eligible for refurbishment programs on sites like Amazon. This may limit resale options and potentially increase the value of compliant devices. I used to believe software vendors were partners. Then I joined went to work for a big tech company. I saw how “independent audits” were sales plays. How “free features” came with million-dollar strings attached. That shift is what Palisade is built on... giving clients leverage, not just advice. If it feels like your vendor holds all the power… You’re not wrong. But there’s a way to take it back.

Last week, my team was stuck on a critical ERP rollout. The tasks were done.  The deadlines were set.  But progress had stalled. Why? Because we weren’t solving the right problem. Here’s what changed:  1. We wrote the problem in one clear sentence.  2. Identified the bottleneck slowing everyone down.  3. Asked “why” until the root cause was undeniable.  4. Aligned every team member on the exact goal. Suddenly, solutions appeared. Decisions were faster. ERP issues, team conflicts, process delays - clarity solved them all. Lesson: Execution matters. 85% of your #transparencyreporting problems when implementing source systems are solved by incorporating the following. 1) 𝐇𝐂𝐏/𝐇𝐂𝐎 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐃. Include an NPI and a Tax ID and you are solving most of the biggest data challenges. 2) 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞. This is an easy one.... sorta. On the ERP side make sure you can get line item expense not just the rolled up "check value" 3) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭. This is a sneaky one often forgot. Make sure it is included in your systems... and a required field. 4) 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞.... Duh 5) 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞. GL account, Expense Type, it doesn't matter just have an easy way to decipher what the payment was for. 6) Bonus points for 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐈𝐃/𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐃 for those in research. I am not saying this solves every problem you have..... but it solves a lot of them. Keep it easy, make it pick lists, and make fields required and data collection gets immediately more efficient.

Most ERPs are designed for companies that build and sell the same thing over and over again. If you're in high-mix, low-volume contract manufacturing, then that isn't you. The quietest phase of any ERP project is the one that matters most. It’s not design. It’s not testing. It’s not the big day when the switch flips and the old system goes dark. It’s the stretch after go-live—when the system works, but people don’t quite know how to make it sing. This is where the magic (or the mess) happens. The processes are in place, but they’re not muscle memory yet. The data is cleaner, but trust in the data still wobbles. People use the system, but some still keep their side spreadsheets “just in case.” I’ve seen two very different paths unfold here: In one, the company treats go-live like the finish line. Training fades. Feedback loops shrink. The ERP becomes a static piece of infrastructure—functional, but never transformative. In the other, go-live is just the start of the learning sprint. Teams share wins, flag gaps, and refine workflows in real time. Reports get sharper because leaders ask better questions. Data quality improves because everyone sees the payoff in their day-to-day work. The difference isn’t in the software. It’s in the culture that surrounds it. Because an ERP doesn’t truly succeed the day it goes live—it succeeds the day people stop thinking about it and simply trust it.

I’ve been getting this question a lot today: “How does Claude with the NetSuite AI Connector compare to SuiteAnalyzer?” So I pointed Claude to the NetSuite reports that were exported by SuiteReports and stored in the File Cabinet, and then asked it for a professional-quality financial analysis. Generally I don't post that much about new platform features, but this one is noteworthy. NetSuite have been beavering away on a host of "in platform" AI enhancements over the past year or so, and I'd expect to see a lot more about this at SuiteWorld in October. However, this popped up today: https://lnkd.in/gEm8pb3d Short version: They now support MCP (an Anthropic initiated open source standardised way of sharing data between AI systems). What does that mean? Well, you can now connect your own AI models from names such as OpenAI, Claude, etc, directly to your #NetSuite instance with appropriate security policies and query your live data using natural language. There's a nice demo video in the link below that's worth watching, as we take the next big step to making your business data useful in real time without big projects to set up shiny reports.

Consultant: "This is an easy enhancement." Reality.... 2 months, 4 change orders, and one CFO who stopped returning calls. You already know ERP projects can get messy. You've watched scope creep happen in real time. But what actually kills momentum? When "enhancements" protect broken processes instead of fixing them. → "We've always done it that way." → "That's our secret sauce." → "Can't we just copy the old system?" You didn't buy new tech to replicate old mistakes. Every enhancement request should answer one question Are we solving a business problem, or preserving a bad habit? Because duct-taping legacy logic into a new ERP isn't transformation. It's expensive procrastination.
