Jessica Jensen posted thisAs we close the page on Women's History Month I want to remind us all that EVERY MONTH is a month that women are building businesses, driving economic growth and making history. I had the joy of meeting Akilah Darden, MBA LEED AP🌟 last week. She reached out to me cold on LinkedIn and I said heck yes, let's talk. This woman is a juggernaut. She is the President of The Darden Group, in construction, and she has used LinkedIn to build her business and network. She is also a mom and has written a children's book "My Mom is a Construction Manager." Her success is huge and wide-ranging. I learned so much in my chat with her. Check out her stats!! Women like this are the bedrock of communities and we must celebrate her and them! From Akilah: :In my first year, a global company discovered me on LinkedIn and engaged me to support the delivery of their $16 million manufacturing facility with a clear goal: build with and for the community. Together, we delivered the project using 100% diverse contractors: 97% minority-owned businesses and 3% women-owned businesses. We also created real workforce pathways by hiring 79 individuals new to construction and 46 diverse professionals from the county where the project was built. That success led to the next opportunity: building a grocery store in the parking lot of the same manufacturing campus, where 88% of the contractors were diverse firms. The momentum continued and ultimately opened the door to working with the largest company in Indiana, which brought me in to support the procurement strategy for a $4 billion capital project. Over three years, we led a strategy centered on building with and for the community, resulting in more than $700 million in commitments to diverse firms, $500 million in diverse spend in less than three years, and opportunities for over 178 diverse businesses. On the workforce side, nearly 30% of the jobsite workforce (over 2,500 people) are people of color, with 8% women in the trades, exceeding national industry averages." ROCK ON!!

Jessica Jensen shared thisMost people aren’t looking for another prediction about the future of work — they’re looking for practical ways to navigate what’s already happening. Open to Work is your go-go guide to this moment: how to stay adaptable, curious and confident as AI reshapes how we work–and how to invest in the human skills that matter most. Congrats to Ryan Roslansky and Aneesh Raman on the launch — and to anyone feeling overwhelmed by change, this is a must read. https://lnkd.in/gqt8yRrC #OpenToWorkBook

It was great to reconnect with so many customers at our event and spend time with marketers making meaningful moves in B2B today. In an AI‑powered buying environment, buyers expect credibility, context, and proof. LLMs are re-writing discoverability and LinkedIn is a strategic unlock to win. Jessica Jensen reposted thisJessica Jensen reposted thisThe labor market has lived several lives in the last six years alone. In just a few years, the labor market has moved through dramatic extremes—from the shock of the pandemic, when entire industries shut down overnight, to the rapid churn and elevated hiring levels of the Great Reshuffle. Today, we’ve entered a new phase: slower growth, more caution, and a broad recalibration underway across companies. Here’s what LinkedIn’s data shows: 🔎 Hiring in advanced economies is still 20–35% below pre‑pandemic levels. 📈 Competition has intensified, with applicants per role roughly doubling since 2022. 📣 At the same time, demand for new skills and hiring for entirely new jobs is accelerating: AI literacy is one of the fastest‑growing skills on LinkedIn, and hiring for AI-related specialists from AI Engineers, Consultants and Researchers continues to top our lists of fastest growing jobs. However, this isn’t a collapse. It’s a reset being shaped by macro uncertainty and the rapid integration of AI into how work gets done. For professionals, these shifts mean navigating longer job searches and tougher competition, while also preparing for roles that look different than they did just a few years ago. And for leaders, it means being more deliberate about where and how they invest in talent and new technology. To help people navigate this moment—and whatever our new normal becomes—LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky and Chief Economic Opportunity Officer Aneesh Raman have authored "Open to Work". The book serves as a valuable guide, focusing on clarity over hype, and how people can build durable careers in the age of AI. 📘 "Open to Work" is available to pre-order now at https://lnkd.in/gsn6jRBF. #OpenToWorkBook

Jessica Jensen liked thisJessica Jensen liked thisThere’s no substitute for being in person with colleagues, sitting down with end users of your product, and building real connections. In a world of emails, pings, and constant digital touchpoints, it’s easy to feel connected but still miss the depth. Even the introvert in me gets energy from time with the team. Great week with our teams in Omaha and NYC. Lots of inside jokes. Different cities, different contexts, same reminder: time in the room (or around the dinner table) matters.

Dishwashers. WiFi. (WiFi!) Women have changed the way we live through countless brilliant inventions. These things may never had existed without their innovative and entrepreneurial spirits. As we close out #WomensHistoryMonth, we’re honoring the women who changed daily life as we know it and those continuing to create space for others to do the same.

More structure. More strategy. More long-term thinking. And importantly, creators are no longer just distribution. They are brand builders and business partners. For many years, it was hate-hate. When I was in the first grade, our tiny Christian school held a "fun run." My parents were too busy trying to survive in America to prioritize these things, so when race day arrived, neither my sister nor I was prepared. We showed up to the starting line in t-shirts, long pants, and some no-name Kmart "Keds". While I theoretically knew how far one mile was, my body had no idea about the pain it was about to endure from the Southern spring heat, humidity, and sheer exertion. My sister, who was two grades ahead of me, started alongside me. Exercise always came more naturally to her. After about half a mile, I was struggling. My face was beet red, there were no water stops, the South Carolina sun was relentless, and my sides ached. So I stopped running and started walking. My sister announced she was going to run ahead (she finished in under 9 minutes) while I willed myself to just make it to the finish line before I nearly passed out. Little did I know at the time, but I actually had a genetic trait that made it hard for me to release heat through sweat. That puts me at high risk of heat stroke, something that puts me off exercise for many years to come. I didn’t start exercising again until my youngest was born. She had terrible colic, and she struggled to sleep every single night until one day, I put her to bed and jumped on my elliptical. The darkened room and white noise calmed her, and she basically refused to sleep without it. When Danielle learned to talk she would drowsily walk up to me at night and grab my hand to guide me into our bedroom and say, “Mommy, I’m tired. It's time for you to go work out so I can go to sleep.” I had no choice but to comply and work out to lull her to sleep. I kept it up year after year even long after she grew up. But I was half-hearted about it. A diagnosis of osteopenia a couple years ago was a wakeup call. I bought a Tonal and have been weight training at least 5 times a week. The difference has been remarkable. While I am still not a great athlete, I am able to feel the difference in my health and life even as I just turned 50. I am stronger than ever. It's never too late to build your strength so there is not just more years in your life, but life in your years.

Jessica Jensen liked thisJessica Jensen liked thisGlobal cultural events come only once in a lifetime. Make sure your business doesn’t miss the opportunity. I often share data about spending trends during major global events like the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. Clearly, we expect to see a surge of spending as these events are happening. Yet the economic impact lasts long after the event. How? Because the infrastructure remains. Leading up to Milano Cortina 2026, Visa worked with 50 ski resorts in northern Italy to ensure they had the technology needed to meet the moment. And we’re doing the same thing here at home. Enter Visa & Main, a new program designed to give small business owners across the United States better access to the resources they need through the right tools and training. Visa & Main was built in direct response to the most pressing challenges entrepreneurs face: access to capital, visibility, and access to modern business technology. And this program extends to creators too, giving them the tools they need to thrive as small business owners. Send this to or tag a small local business owner you love. This program was built for them. #Entrepreneurship #StartUps #BusinessGrowth #Business

Brands that scale with purpose don’t just look good, they think deep. Operating within a deep-thinking brand framework bridges what happens behind the scenes: your values, your vision, your why, with what the world sees and experiences. This kind of alignment creates trust, traction, and long-term growth. In other words: strategy before aesthetics ... always. #BrandStrategy #AuthenticBrands #BrandGrowth #BuildSmartBrands

Stop Treating Influencer Marketing Like a Side Hustle Today’s School of Marketing (SoM) webinar masterclass with Jennifer Quigley-Jones, CEO of Digital Voices dropped some brutal truths every brand leader needs to hear: 1️⃣ Decisions are fast, emotional, and driven by FOMO, social proof, and micro-trends. Consumers really don’t move neatly from awareness to purchase. 2️⃣ Volume is the New Competitive Advantage Winning brands produce 50-70 pieces of content a week and activate hundreds of creators to saturate feeds, build hype, and drive conversions. 3️⃣ Creators Are Your Strategy, Not a Tactic Influencers aren’t just for reach. They drive paid ads, product launches, community loyalty, and cultural relevance. If they’re not core to your brand plan, you’re behind. 4️⃣ AI Enhances Creativity, But People Drive Trust AI can supercharge ideation and optimisation, but people want to connect with people and not faceless AI avatars. 💡 Duolingo nailed this. They knew their older loyal users weren’t enough for long-term growth. So they unleashed Duo the Owl on TikTok with unhinged, hilarious content to attract Gen Z, without alienating their core base. Result? Massive growth in under-30s and a brand people love to talk about. ⚠️ Key takeaway: Influencer marketing isn’t a side project. It’s becoming core to the operating system of modern marketing. And Ritchie Mehta and I are on a roll now with this webinar masterclass series. Next up with have a zinger! From SEO to GEO: Thriving in the Search Apocalypse 🗓 Max Sinclair - Founder, Azoma 📅 19th August 🕞 3.30-5.00pm 🔗 Register here: https://lnkd.in/eh2PXQMe We are all waking up to a brutal reality: AI Search is rewriting the rules of performance marketing. SEO is hugely challenged and click inflation is accelerating as a result. I’ve heard more and more people scratching their head and/or panicking. If you feel like you’re losing control of your key levers you’re not alone. This is such a hot topic right now and so an obvious candidate for our next masterclass. Whilst most are waking up to the AI meteor in the last 3-5 months, Max has been deep in this space for three years and is further down the road than almost anyone else. Max will explain ✅ What’s really happening to the old SEO playbook ✅ The new rules every marketer must understand ✅ Practical actions you can take now to protect and grow performance We’d love to see you there #InfluencerMarketing #DigitalStrategy #BrandLeadership #Duolingo

While most people talk about building brands vs building portfolios… Karan Wats has been doing both, quietly, consistently, and at scale. He’s the CEO of HB Investments (the private investment office of the founders of Huda Beauty) and also serves as Chief Strategy Officer & Board Member at Huda Beauty a rare seat that sits at the intersection of consumer, capital, and compounding. What makes his path interesting is the pattern: Engineering > finance > investing > operators’ boardroom Built and ran a global family office, then moved into leading HBI’s long-term investing + company-building ecosystem. Early career time across corporate finance + principal investing at Deutsche Bank Backed by fundamentals: LBS MBA + Imperial College London (ChemEng) And in an interview, his investing lens came through clearly: teams first founders who think big, challenge the status quo, and can execute. The takeaway for me. The best “strategy” people aren’t the loudest. They’re the ones who can zoom out (capital allocation) and zoom in (execution, board-level decisions) without losing taste for consumer. If you’re studying how modern consumer empires get built in the Middle East, Karan Wats is one of the names worth tracking.

Attention CEOs and CFOs: Don't miss Seth Matlins podcast, “The CEO's Guide to Marketing.” In it, Seth engages with top marketing experts from iconic brands to discuss marketing's misunderstood concepts, focusing on the often-seen disconnect between CMOs and other executives. In a recent episode, Alex Schultz from Meta shared if you're honest, measure well, and communicate openly, you'll find acceptance even with failures. Noting that not everything is measurable. This highlights the importance of accountability, honesty, and transparency to build credibility within the C-suite. At the same time, brands must allow marketers to take measured risks when they've earned that freedom. Furthermore, brand building demands patience. As Greg Wise noted in a post this week, when Chris Davis became CMO of New Balance in 2020, he shifted the focus from direct-response to brand. Though revenue dipped for 18 months, persistence paid off—by month 19, New Balance resurged globally. In an AI-driven world, brand trust, reputation, and relevance are even more crucial. CFOs who dismiss brand investment as trivial risk limiting growth. This is problem I expect to intensify as AI becomes more ubiquitous. Seth is now unpacking everything CFOs and CEOs need to know. https://lnkd.in/efCXzCHr

Scaling With Boundaries: Consent-Based Growth at SX Fusion Link In Bio. Too many agencies treat creators like content machines—optimizing for growth at the cost of personal autonomy. At SX Fusion, we do things differently. Every strategy—whether it’s DM automation, PPV pricing, content cadence, or A/B testing—starts with one question: What does the creator actually want? Our model is built on consent-based growth. That means: No pressure to perform beyond your comfort zone Full transparency around monetization experiments Collaborative decisions on fan engagement style Respect for pacing, tone, and personal brand integrity Boundaries aren't obstacles—they're frameworks. And when creators feel safe, respected, and in control, the results speak for themselves: higher retention, deeper fan loyalty, and long-term success. We’re not just growing brands. We’re protecting people. #SXFusion #CreatorEconomy #OnlyFansManagement #DigitalEthics #ConsentCulture #CreatorWellness #ContentWithBoundaries #InfluencerStrategy #FanMonetization #SexualWellnessLeadership #RespectFirst #SustainableGrowth #CreatorSupport

If you couldn't make it to Las Vegas for #CES2026, ADWEEK just published the highlights from my conversation with Jenny Rooney. 👉 https://bit.ly/3NmAiai In the piece, we preview the AI Disruption Index, Moloco’s new research with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), which maps 15 industries into four strategic realities. When 75% of consumers believe LLMs help them find better deals than they can find on their own, AI isn’t just optimizing discovery. It’s replacing it entirely. With the AI Disruption Index, we wanted to give brands a clear, data driven way to understand their exposure to AI driven disruption, based on the strength of their customer relationships. Check out the article for the initial breakdown, but stay tuned for the deep dive when the full report releases on January 21st. #AIDisruptionIndex #MarketingStrategy
