Jason LaPorte shared thisHi everyone, For more than 20 years, I’ve been a distance runner—but I’ve always thought of myself as a hockey player who runs, rather than a runner who plays hockey. During those years, I’ve completed dozens of half marathons around the country and the world, but I’ve always stopped at 13.1 miles. Running a full marathon has been a lifelong goal, but if I’m being truthful, it was something I never really believed I could do again. That started to change after I turned 50. Last year, I stood at the finish line of the New York City Marathon to watch a friend complete his race. Seeing him finish, and experiencing the emotion and energy surrounding the race, inspired me enough to finally ask myself: Why not me? So, on November 1, I’m going to find out. I’ll be running the TCS New York City Marathon as a member of Team WhyHunger, raising money for an organization that has been one of Power Consulting Group's longest-standing clients and one that I've been fortunate to get to know and support over the years. WhyHunger does something I believe is incredibly important: it helps people access nutritious food when they need it today while investing in community-led solutions that address hunger for the long term. Last year alone, WhyHunger helped 2.1 million people in the U.S. access food and other vital resources. Training for 26.2 miles while balancing work, family, and somehow continuing to play hockey multiple times a week has definitely been a challenge. But it's also changed the way I think about running—and about what I might actually be capable of. I'm fortunate to have a tremendous amount of support, particularly from my wife Amanda, whose patience and encouragement through all the hours of training have made this possible. Power Consulting Group will also be supporting my run with a donation to WhyHunger. Now I'm asking my friends, family, colleagues, clients, and everyone who's been part of my life over the years to consider joining us. If you're able, I'd be incredibly grateful for a donation to WhyHunger in support of my run. Every contribution, regardless of size, gets me closer to my fundraising goal and helps WhyHunger continue this important work. My company Power Consulting Group will be matching funds raised so remember your contributions will be doubly impactful. https://donations.nyrr.org/donations/new?fundraiser=9183a25e5f8da637f346 I've spent more than 20 years believing that 13.1 miles was my limit. This year, I'm going to find out what happens when I don't stop there. Thank you for the support—and I'll see you at 26.2. Jason LaPorte reposted thisThis May, Amanda and I are running the Brooklyn Half Marathon in support of Team for Kids — and yes, we voluntarily signed up to run 13.1 miles, which already proves we’re committed to the cause. With Passover and Easter around the corner, we’re hoping people are in that seasonal “giving spirit” — the same spirit that convinces us to carbo‑load like it’s a competitive sport. Our goal is to raise $750, and we’d love your help getting there (or even blowing past it). Why this matters to us: Amanda and I grew up with access to sports, running, and the kind of support systems that make staying active feel normal. Not every kid gets that. Team for Kids steps in where those opportunities are missing, providing: · Free running and fitness programs in underserved schools · Coaches and mentors who build confidence and resilience · After‑school running clubs that keep kids active and connected · Free races and events that introduce healthy habits early If you want to support our run, here’s our fundraising page: 👉 https://lnkd.in/evvfqEiF Every donation — even the “I skipped one coffee for this” amount — genuinely helps. Thanks for supporting us and most importantly supporting the kids. We appreciate you.

Jason LaPorte reacted on thisJason LaPorte reacted on thisI did something amazing. Something someone once told me I would never be able to do: I ran a marathon. 26.2 miles. 3 1/2 years ago, a doctor told me I would never walk without my cane again. I never once believed him. In fact, I saw it as an opportunity to remind myself what I was truly capable of. So, I started running 2 years ago. My first run was .44 miles, leaning against buildings on Park Ave because I genuinely thought I was going to pass out at any second. And you know what? I felt proud. Then came my first 1-mile run. I felt proud, again. Then my first 5-mile run. And boy, oh boy, did I feel proud. Then my first half marathon a year ago. Proud. Then my first 17-mile run. I felt like I was flying. Proud. And finally… 26.2 miles in Helsingborg, Sweden. You guessed it. I felt immensely proud. I gave myself the chance to discover what I was capable of by taking small steps that compounded. And somewhere along those miles, I learned to trust myself more and more. With every mile, I became stronger—not just physically, but mentally. I started believing in myself more than I ever had. Every mile of those 1,000+ training miles gave me a little more confidence that I could run 26.2. And when I crossed that finish line, I was reminded of something I hope I never forget: It’s not always about the destination. It’s about showing up when you’re unsure. Showing up when you doubt yourself. Showing up when the finish line feels impossibly far away. Because sometimes, the person who tells you that you can’t, is wrong. Sometimes, you just haven’t discovered what you’re capable of yet. So this is your reminder: Don’t let someone else’s perception of you become your reality. What someone else sees as your limitation may simply be the edge of what they’ve been able to imagine for you. Keep going. Take the small step. Then another. Trust yourself. Don’t give up on what you believe is possible for you. You might surprise yourself (like I did!).

Why Your MSP Might Be Your Achilles’ Heel for CMMC Many organizations assume their MSP has CMMC covered. In reality, that assumption is where programs fail. Here are the red flags to watch for: 1. “Readiness” is just a monitoring tool If their CMMC story starts and ends with an application that monitors controls, you do not have a compliance strategy—you have a dashboard. CMMC requires an active partner, not just software. 2. No real CMMC expertise on staff Ask a simple question: Do you have anyone certified in CMMC? - For Level 1, you should expect CCPs - For Level 2, you should expect CCAs If the answer is no, start asking harder questions. 3. They manage your CUI enclave—but can’t show a program If your MSP is managing your CUI environment and cannot produce a documented cybersecurity program, that is a serious red flag. Ask for SOC 2 reports or artifacts off the Body of Evidence (DM if you want a copy). If they cannot provide them, you are assuming risk you likely do not see. CMMC is not an IT tool problem. It is a governance, execution, and accountability problem. Choose partners who can operate—not just manage infrastructure.

Cyber Earnings Insights: SailPoint (March 2026) $SAIL ARR: $1.125B Growth Rate: 28% YoY Revenue Multiple: 6.2x Operating Margin: 18% Rule of 46 Immediate stock reaction: 🔴 Dropped 15% My Takeaways: ◾The stock reaction was much less tied to past performance as that was fairly solid, and more to the upcoming guidance for this next year of 18-19% growth. Even at $1B+ in ARR investors need faster growth. Slowing down from 28% this year to 18% next year is a 35% slow down, that is pretty significant and if AI identities are only getting bigger you’d think they’d stand to benefit. ◾Taking free cash flow from -13.9% last fiscal year to 4.8% this year is pretty incredible improvement. According to LinkedIn headcount is up 17% so this isn’t “AI replacing jobs” kind of cash flow improvements! Very impressive. ◾NRR has held between 113-115% for the last 9 quarters! Showing they are not seeing large churn and in fact the opposite, they are growing their existing base! ◾They sure got the message around AI agent and machine identities, “Identity Control Plane” seems to be an increasingly popular way to explain platforms. Startup GTM Tips: ◾One of their main sales plays for landing new logo’s was “displace, replace, and modernize legacy IGA” and when they say legacy they mean the older on prem CA, IBM, and/or Oracle. Legacy is a word that is thrown around often in security as a bad thing. Being old isn’t a bad thing, not innovating is. Those aren’t mutually exclusive. ◾Most of the messaging was around how their experience is actually a better thing for Security/IT teams. It was subtle, but they had multiple slides calling out the “data moat” from having the longest history with the largest enterprises, breadth of ecosystem integrations and true enterprise scale. In a word of AI where volume of data matters, Sailpoint is using their earnings call as a marketing message to many of the startups, pointing out that they have a clear advantage when it comes to infusing their product with AI capabilities due to the data history. #CyberBuildingBlocks
