*** Silent Killer in High-Speed Interface Design *** Every engineer working on PCIe, USB, CSI, DSI, LPDDR, SerDes, or any high-speed interface knows: "Timing closure will keep you Up at night." But here’s the thing—It is not always the big violations that kill a design. These can be found and fixed. The silent killers are the marginal cases: * That one Async Clock Domain Crossing that looked fine… until Silicon. * That Power mode Transition that only happens under rare Conditions. * That Corner case in Equalization that only fails in a specific voltage/temp combo. "These don’t show up in the standard verification flow. You have to hunt them down." What’s your approach to catching these hidden pitfalls?

Big news from Micron today—this marks a pivotal moment in our mission to advance U.S. semiconductor leadership. We’re expanding our U.S. investments to approximately $200 billion, reinforcing our long-term commitment to domestic memory manufacturing and R&D. This includes: - A second leading-edge memory fab in Boise, Idaho—complementing the high-volume fab already under construction - Expansion and modernization of our Manassas, Virginia facility - Plans to bring advanced HBM packaging capabilities to the U.S. - A $50 billion investment in domestic R&D - Continued progress toward our planned megafab in New York These initiatives are expected to create around 90,000 direct and indirect jobs and will help us meet the surging demand for AI-driven innovation. As someone closely involved in our U.S. expansion strategy, I’m incredibly proud of what this means for our communities, our workforce, and the future of American-made memory. This is about more than just scale—it’s about building resilience, driving innovation, and securing leadership in a critical industry. Thank you to our federal, state, and local partners for your support—and to the Micron team, whose dedication makes this possible. 🧠 Memory isn't an add-on—it's the core of any truly intelligent agent. In my upcoming blog, I dive into the actual implementation of a layered memory architecture for AI agents—designed to handle fast recall, session continuity, and long-term knowledge grounding using a triad of: 🔹 L1 – In-Memory Cache (Active Context) 🔹 L2 – Vector DB (Session Memory) 🔹 L3 – Graph DB (Knowledge Memory) This isn't just theoretical. I’ve put this into practice with real agent frameworks and explored how memory impacts performance, continuity, and contextual reasoning. From agent personalization to retrieval-aware decision making, memory is what makes agents feel less like tools—and more like intelligent collaborators. 🚀 The blog walks through each layer, how to wire them up, and the tangible benefits they unlock when combined. Innovation starts with railraoders like Chathula Adikary, a Wayside Detector Systems Engineer-In-Training at CPKC. Chathula applies his circuit design expertise to advance technologies that help keep our railway safe, including Optical AEI, a custom designed wayside detector and circuit system that captures critical train data in real time. Our teams analyze that data to identify potential safety issues and prevent incidents. Thank you, Chathula, for driving innovation and safety across our network. #CPKCRailroader #AlwaysInnovating

Almost exactly 3 years ago I was privileged to stand on stage in Santa Clara and announce the first wave of AI for verification. Today we make probably the most exciting announcement since then! Really excited to work with the ChipStack team as we define and develop Agentic AI for IC development together! ~~ We’re excited to announce that ChipStack, a pioneer in agentic AI for chip design and verification, is joining Cadence. ChipStack’s generative AI-driven platform helps accelerate design and verification workflows through deep design understanding, intelligent test planning, test generation, and AI-assisted debugging. Why this matters for our customers: ✅ Accelerated Verification – Move from weeks to days for front end IC design. ✅ AI-Powered Productivity – Scale without proportional headcount. ✅ Unified Flow – ChipStack’s generative AI agents will integrate seamlessly into Cadence’s Agentic AI and EDA solutions. ChipStack brings deep expertise in AI-driven design understanding, intelligent test planning, and AI-assisted debugging—strengthening our commitment to innovation and time-to-market acceleration. 👉 Read blog: https://ow.ly/NX2E50XpxZI #ChipStack #AI #Semiconductor #Design #Verification

the Intel Corporation is laying off hundreds of engineers in California, including chip designers and architects, while shutting down its automotive chip division to reduce costs and focus on core operations. The company will eliminate around 107 jobs at its Santa Clara headquarters starting July 15. These include engineers, architects, and managers working on CPU, GPU, and cloud products. Affected employees will receive notice periods and severance packages. Intel is also shutting down its automotive chip division, mainly based in Germany. The team, once focused on software-defined vehicle platforms, is being disbanded to sharpen Intel’s focus on client and data center products. Tan has emphasized flattening management and prioritizing efficiency. He criticized a culture where leadership was measured by team size and announced that future success will be judged by impact, not headcount. Intel is also outsourcing parts of its marketing to Accenture, using AI-driven solutions. TSMC's new chip manufacturing plant in Arizona broke ground in 2021, and "Fab 1" has already started producing 4nm chips for several big semiconductor vendors. The other 2 fabs, Fab 2 and Fab 3, are planned in the next few years to tackle more advanced nodes. But chip manufacturing in US is not the same as in Taiwan. In this eye-opening article, learn about some of the challenges TSMC encountered due to bureaucracy, water shortage and lengthy training needed to get required skills. https://lnkd.in/gHsdRhCN #silicon #chipdesign #chips #vlsidesign #3DIC #designautomation #eda #chipmanufacturing #smartmanufacturing
