This year, I've worked with senior leaders who have impressive profiles—strong experience, good recommendations—but zero visibility. They're not commenting, not posting, not engaging with their industry. And in a market where recruiters and hiring managers assess cultural fit and thought leadership before they contact anyone, invisibility kills opportunity. You don't need to post daily or share motivational quotes. You need to demonstrate you're actively contributing to conversations in your sector. That means commenting thoughtfully on posts from industry leaders, sharing perspectives on market shifts relevant to your expertise, and engaging with content from organisations you'd like to work for. Even two meaningful interactions per week signals you're engaged, current, and operating at a senior level. When clients start showing up consistently on LinkedIn, the shift is visible within weeks. Recruiters notice them in searches because the algorithm prioritises active users. Hiring managers see their comments and think "this person gets it." Former colleagues reach out with opportunities because you're top of mind again. Activity creates visibility, and visibility creates opportunity. The organisations hiring me to support outplacement care about this because passive candidates stay passive without guidance. Teaching people how to be visible on LinkedIn without being salesy or desperate is part of effective career transition support. It's a skill that translates directly to job offers. TOP TIP: Set a reminder to spend 15 minutes on LinkedIn every Monday and Thursday. Find three posts from people in your target industry and add a substantive comment—not "great post!" but a genuine insight or question. My research focuses on department chairs as the critical bridge between institutional leadership and faculty for the implementation process for the compressed eight-week academic terms. My qualitative research provided a wealth of insights from curriculum and career and technical chairs and their role as change agents to guide course redesign and supporting professional development of their faculty members. I could not be here without thanking individuals who gave of their time and talent to assist me. Over the past few weeks, five women chose growth. They showed up. They leaned in. They shared their truth and their stories, many times through tears. And that’s where real transformation begins. ✨️ My teaching style is one that creates space for honest conversations that challenge, stretch, and empower. I open that door by being transparent about my own journey...filled with trials, trauma, and the joy, peace, beauty, and hope that comes with recovery.This group embraced that fully and I am so proud of them! Although volunteer work requires me to step away from my normal routine and add more to my plate, purpose-driven work will always be worth it.
