We’re thrilled to see our partner Blue Gen Therapeutics Foundation receive a $4.7M grant from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) to advance a novel gene therapy for blue cone monochromacy (BCM)—a rare, inherited retinal disease with no approved treatments—closer to clinical trials. This milestone underscores the promise of single-injection intravitreal AAV-based gene therapy—and the potential of our proprietary AAV.7m8 vector capsid—that aims to restore visual function in inherited retinal diseases like BCM. It also reflects the strength of our shared commitment with Blue Gen to pioneering transformative treatments across the spectrum of retinal disorders. At Adverum, we are applying our intravitreal gene therapy platform to develop Ixo-vec as a one-time gene therapy for #wAMD. Currently in Phase 3 development, Ixo-vec is designed to eliminate or limit the need for frequent ocular injections. Advancing hope in ALS: our partnership with NeuroSense I am proud to share that Recipharm is partnering with NeuroSense Therapeutics, to advance PrimeC, a novel therapy to slowdown #ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). ALS is a devastating neurodegenerative disease, with very few treatment options. PrimeC takes a new approach: a fixed-dose combination that targets multiple disease mechanisms at once. Getting there has not been easy. We made this possible by: - Solving a tough formulation challenge, combining two very different drugs into one stable tablet - Engineering a controlled-release profile, synchronising both drugs for the right therapeutic effect - Ensuring stability and robustness, ready for late-stage development - Building scalable manufacturing, supporting Phase 3 clinical trials and future supply. This is Recipharm at our best: turning complex science into progress that matters, and doing it in a way that brings hope to people living with ALS. I am immensely proud of our colleagues who have made this possible, and grateful for NeuroSense Therapeutics and Alon Ben-Noon and Hagit Binder for trusting Recipharm as a partner on this journey.
