The latest results from Natura are a great reminder that the direct sales model is far from outdated — it’s evolving. After completing a major restructuring, Natura reported nearly 𝗥$1 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 2025, alongside continued 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘨𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 $100𝐊–$300𝐊+ 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 once you factor in booth build, travel, staffing, and logistics. Partnerships, retail listings, distributor relationships, and media coverage typically materialize long after the show floor closes. 3. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. The brands that struggle are usually the ones who show up with no defined goal. Eileen I actually didn’t know that—really interesting perspective.
It’s a great example of how even the biggest players can miss what makes a brand truly work. When a company loses that original #DNA and connection to its audience, scale alone doesn’t save it.
I agree with you—this feels like one of those situations where a more focused player like Puig could have the advantage, especially if they stay closer to the brand and its identity.
