Stop waiting for that perfect job or ideal client! If you’re a designer you have a unique ability to do things that many other professions don’t. You can just make sh*t and put it out there! If you don’t have a real client, you can make one up. If you can’t find the perfect job, you can look for your own projects. Sure, there is a lot to gain from working at an agency or with high profile clients, but you’ll learn endlessly if you design things constantly and put it out there. The more you actually do, the more you end up learning. The opportunities will eventually present themselves because people are attracted to doers. You just have to pound the pavement and put in the work…
