Typography is strategy, persuasion, and first impression.

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

Designers, marketers, clients, and students: you’ve fought for the right font like the last toilet paper roll during the pandemic. There’s a reason for that. Typography is strategy. It’s persuasion. It’s your first impression before your audience reads a word. Bonus points if you know the difference between a font and a typeface (yes, there is one). #TypographyMatters #BrandTrust #DesignThinking

Hmmm I'm still trying to sort this in my. head! I thought "sans serif" is a font, like calibri, arial, or Times NR. Do the options in the Word menu make it more confusing?

I love type and love this!! It's a whole language, and I was so in awe of type as a student that I got ampersand tattoos!

Ugh...when I started reading this I thought I understood what you were talking about and the difference between font and typeface but now I am thinking I don't.

As a communications nerd, I loved this post (especially learning about the difference between typeface and font at the end!). I am not a designer myself, so I do what my designer tells me to do 🤩 Choosing fonts that are readily available across all platforms (or easy to install) is the key to consistency for me!

I am often head scratching about what don’t to use, and why it doesn’t easily translate to every medium. Why for example doesn’t adobe recognize my POT fonts, or Canva have a whole different set than square space?! Please tell me.

Type is a whole vibe and it does speak when done well, I loved all of your examples and you are 100% right!

What a beautiful explanation of the art and science of type and font. Every little detail matters and when it comes to font, I'm grateful to experts like you to tell a powerful story in the type!

Absolutely. Visual choices speak before the message ever lands. Whether it’s branding or budgeting, first impressions matter—and strategy lives in the details. Love this take!

Haha just visualizing that first metaphor, get that toilet paper! And seriously, if I don't like the font, it's over. So important!
