Jack Qin liked thisJack Qin liked this//日本語は下に続きます// We recently hosted a wonderful group of Japanese students at our JPMorgan headquarters in NYC! What started as a 30min office tour stretched into an hour of conversations and photos on the rooftop. My presentation and Q&A session ran way past the scheduled time because of their amazing energy, ranging from JPMorgan, market trends, to leadership. Everyone was at a different stage. Some are already studying at US universities, others know their exact career goals, while some have joined to gain clarity. Throughout the session, I made a conscious effort not to give them answers, but to help them uncover their own "Why." Often, people confuse goals with means. You might think, "This is what I want to do," but when asked, "Why do you want to do it?", you realize your true objective lies much further down the road. What felt like a goal was actually just one tool to get there. Once you unlock your real "Why", so many more possibilities open up, and the path forward becomes remarkably clear. People also often assume that diving into new, global environments requires an outgoing, ultra-tough personality, and people often ask me, "Haven't you always been that way?" But at my core, I am deeply introverted. I've just learned how to flip the switch and turn on my extraverted self when needed. You don't need to cap your potential with thoughts like "I'm too introverted" or "My English isn't perfect." There is always a way to take that next step while staying completely authentic to who you are. Sitting with these ambitious students reminded me of why I am so passionate about coaching and empowering the next generation. It was a deeply rewarding moment of returning to my roots. Huge thanks to Kei Otoi & Miyu Nishimoto, who voluntarily organize this. And to all the students I met, I am cheering you on every step of the way!

Jack Qin liked thisJack Qin liked thisIn October 2020, I joined Boston Consulting Group (BCG) as a remote hire during one of the most uncertain moments in recent history. What started as an admin role quickly became a journey of growth, opportunity, and impact that has shaped the last 5.5 years of my career. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to earn two promotions and support 20+ stakeholders ranging from Project Leaders to MDPs across Core Consulting, Platinion/TDA, and BCG X from coast to coast. I’ve also taken on several opportunities, including serving on the EA/AA New Hire Training stretch assignment for multiple rotations and most recently completing a secondment as a NAMR Operations L&D Specialist, where I onboarded 60+ new admin hires across North America through six cohorts. Some of the most meaningful experiences came from contributing to the broader community. From planning Women’s History Month celebrations with Women@Nexus to moderating a WomenOfColor panel on redefining power in the age of AI, these moments reinforced the importance of connection, representation, and growth. Within BCG Platinion, I had the chance to help plan a BST offsite, lead Agile upskilling for our admin team, and support the recent 2026 Platinion All-Staff Offsite. None of this would have been possible without the people who supported me along the way. Special thanks to Dan Martines for an incredible partnership and for the impact we created together, especially through our global GenAI series, BCG’s longest-running monthly series since January 2023. Thank you to Connie Seldon for consistently advocating for me, to Marissa (Daher) Witkowski for an invaluable secondment experience, and to Brittney Potter for being a true partner throughout every admin cohort we onboarded. With that, I’m excited to share that I’m stepping into a new role as a Global L&D Senior Coordinator on the Delivery Team. Looking forward to what’s ahead and continuing to grow alongside an incredible team! #NewRole

March’s geopolitical shock, commodity volatility and rapid de-risking hit macro and multi-strategy platforms hard. April reversed much of that move as equities surged, oil retraced, the dollar weakened and AI-related equities rallied following strong hyperscaler earnings. Reuters reported that stock-picking hedge funds returned more than 9% in April, their strongest month since Goldman Sachs began tracking the category in 2016. Hedge Fund Research said the average hedge fund gained 4.8%, the industry’s second-best monthly return since 2009. Several patterns emerged from the recovery: Managers that maintained core positions beneath index and macro hedges recovered fastest once markets turned. Technology and AI exposure drove a meaningful share of the rebound, particularly across TMT, growth and long/short equity managers including Light Street, Tiger Global and Polymer. The multi-manager platforms also stabilized quickly after March’s stress: • Millennium: -1.2% in March → +2.7% in April • ExodusPoint Capital Management, LP: -4.5% → +4.0% • Balyasny Asset Management L.P.: -4.3% → +3.1% • Marshall Wace Eureka: -5.3% → +7.1% • Pinpoint Asset Management: -2.5% → +5.2% • Verition Fund Management LLC: -1.9% → +3.1% • Citadel Wellington: -1.9% → +1.4% • Man Group 1783: -1.6% → +2.0% Other standout April performers included: • CastleKnight +21.2% in April, 26.9% YTD • Light Street +18.2%, 11.3% YTD • Tiger Global +15%, ~3% YTD • CenterBook Global Active Extension +11.6%, 10.1% YTD • Carrhae +10%, 5.5% YTD through Apr. 24 • Polymer +7.7%, >15% YTD • Graham Tactical Trend +6.6%, 20.5% YTD • Columbus Hill +6.1%, 5.3% YTD • Point72 +4.5%, 8.5% YTD • Citadel Tactical Trading +2.8%, 8.3% YTD Importantly, April was not a uniform recovery. Dispersion across managers remained wide. Some funds recovered nearly all of March’s losses. Others participated only modestly despite one of the strongest equity rebounds in years. For allocators, the March/April sequence was a useful stress test of liquidity management, hedging discipline and the ability to re-engage risk quickly once markets stabilized. 📊 Please see March/April/YTD return table in the image. Data: Reuters, Bloomberg, Business Insider, Hedge Fund Research and PivotalPath. Returns are reported estimates and subject to revision. I will also be in New York for iConnections | 𝗠𝗙𝗔 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝘀 June 8-10th and look forward to discussions with allocators, managers and platform participants across the multi-strategy, macro and managed futures landscape.

Jack Qin liked thisJack Qin liked thisWORTH A L👀K!!!!! Mark Gadala-Maria: A Bloomberg Terminal costs $24,000 a year. Someone just recreated one using Perplexity Computer for $200 a month. Bloomberg's moat was never the data, that's increasingly commoditized. It was the interface: thousands of keyboard shortcuts, proprietary screens, and muscle memory that finance professionals spent years learning. The switching cost wasn't price, it was retraining. AI agents collapse that moat. If Computer can replicate the interface and pull equivalent data from public sources, the only remaining lock-in is the chat network and real-time feeds. One is a social product. The other is a licensing negotiation. Bloomberg did $12.6 billion in revenue last year selling terminals. The first credible open-source alternative just got built in an afternoon. https://lnkd.in/gEWfC_Ys

Jack Qin liked thisWe are now Inframind Labs! 🚀 When Brian Sheil and I started this journey in Cambridge, we asked: infrastructure is part of human life and critical to public safety — so why does it not get the same attention and intelligence as healthcare? For decades, sensors like LiDAR and GPR have been used in infrastructure. The data has always been there — but raw scans alone don’t mean much. What’s been missing is the ability to interpret that data with the depth of a civil engineer, and the scale of AI. That’s exactly what we’re building at Inframind. Our AI analytics take fragmented data and translate it into structural intelligence — revealing hidden risks, predicting deterioration, and guiding safer decisions. The breakthrough isn’t in collecting data, but in finally understanding what it means. That’s why this rebrand matters. "Infra" grounds us in the industry we serve. "Mind" reflects the intelligence we’re embedding into infrastructure. We believe the future of infrastructure will be one where AI makes risk predictable, safety proactive, and resilience the standard. This is the vision behind Inframind Labs — and we’re just getting started. #AI #Infrastructure #RiskIntelligence #InframindJack Qin liked thisWe are now Inframind Labs! 🚀 Formerly JoltSynsor, we’ve rebranded to Inframind Labs, reflecting our mission to bring AI intelligence to the world’s ageing, under-monitored infrastructure. The new name captures our vision: “Infra” for the industry we serve, “mind” for the intelligence driving safer, smarter infrastructure. We believe the future of infrastructure is one where AI makes risk predictable, safety proactive, and intelligence built into every structure. This rebrand marks the first step toward that future — and we’re just getting started. 🌍✨ Full story in link below 👇
