I like these folks; they bring value to me as a human. When I made a recent post of my struggles, I was reminded of how important that is in our lives. Go out there and make friends. Be kind. Learn who they are. Live.

Betty M. liked thisBetty M. liked thisBefore getting laid off (literally a couple of days) we bought our tickets for Portugal. So did our niece (from Japan). So… we decided to go. There’s a spot in Lisbon that has some excellent views of the city. The weather was good and our walking tour took us there. I sat down to have a break while my wife and niece did photos. As I sat there, a couple of guys walked by and, in English, said that they didn’t need to go to the view point because there were too many people (there weren’t, IMHO). A little while later they walked by in the other direction and said the same thing: it was too much trouble. How many projects have failed because the last mile was too hard? It sometimes is; but it sometimes just looks that way because it’s easier to say “that’s too hard” than it is to push through the five people at the top of the steps to realize there’s nobody past them. Go out there and finish your projects. Define your goals and push to the end. People will thank you for it.

Betty M. liked thisBetty M. liked thisThis weekend at Hillsdale, visiting our daughter for Parents Weekend, we had the privilege of hearing Dr. Larry Arnn speak at the President’s Club dinner. His words were both timely and timeless. He reminded us that we are again facing existential questions about the nature of things, what is true, what is good, and what is beautiful. And that without freedom, we lose not only our ability to govern ourselves but also our ability to pursue those higher ends. Freedom, he said, is not simply a political condition. It is the ground upon which human flourishing depends. Looking around the room, I was struck by what Hillsdale represents, not just education, but formation. Students and parents alike, united by a shared purpose: to prepare the next generation of citizens who will carry forward the principles that built this nation. A hopeful reminder that the renewal of our country begins not in politics, but in the cultivation of virtue, truth, and disciplined freedom.

#TrendingReads Health systems are rethinking where clinical informatics belongs in digital transformation. A recent Becker’s Hospital Review article explores how chief nursing information officers are repositioning informatics from reactive troubleshooting to proactive clinical design. As digital tools move deeper into clinical operations, informaticists are being pulled upstream into earlier phases of planning. At Albany Med Health System, CNIO Michael Durling, RN, described early inclusion in procurement and project road mapping as the ideal state. When informatics teams are involved before decisions are finalized, they can assess workflow feasibility, patient safety implications, education needs, and long term support requirements. Without that early engagement, informatics teams are often left mitigating downstream issues. When technology decisions are made without clinical input, informaticists shift into redesign, risk mitigation, and workflow correction after implementation. At Summa Health, this shift has been more formalized. CNIO Marc Benoy, BSN, RN, positioned informatics as a proactive clinical design function rather than a break fix resource. Structural changes clarified role boundaries across IT, applications, analytics, and training. Governance processes now require informatics review for initiatives that impact clinical workflows or sensitive data. The result is stronger adoption, reduced variation, and more sustainable workflows. Instead of correcting problems after launch, informatics leaders are helping ensure solutions are safe, usable, and aligned with clinical reality from the start. The broader takeaway is clear. Digital transformation succeeds when clinical expertise is embedded early in design and governance. Technology decisions must reflect real world workflow, not just technical capability. At Jorie AI, this same principle guides our approach to revenue cycle automation. Intelligence must be embedded directly into operational workflows, not layered on after the fact. By aligning AI execution with clinical and administrative realities from day one, we help health systems avoid downstream friction and drive measurable, sustainable performance improvement. 📚 Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/3OUM3FG 🔗 Explore how Jorie AI supports proactive, workflow aligned automation: https://bit.ly/3ZMcKi0 #JorieAI #TrendingReads #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareAutomation #HealthIT #RevenueCycleManagement

Healthcare organizations are preparing for major changes tied to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule, which requires payers to adopt FHIR-based APIs and accelerate responses to prior authorization requests while publicly reporting denial data. Despite the rule’s intent to improve transparency and speed patient care, adoption remains slow, with only about 20% of providers beginning implementation. Erin Richter Weber, Chief Policy & Research Officer at CAQH, highlights how operational complexity, technology integration challenges, and limited awareness across healthcare systems continue to slow automation efforts. The CMS and CAQH emphasize that revenue cycle leaders must collaborate closely with technology vendors and operational teams to ensure systems, workflows, and compliance readiness before the 2027 regulatory deadline arrives. Our RCM team strengthens revenue cycle and implementation processes by helping health entities align payer requirements, integrate automation strategies, improve prior authorization workflows, and reduce denials. This approach supports operational readiness, financial stability, and patient access while enabling organizations to implement sustainable programs that benefit providers, patients, and the communities they serve. Let’s CoSource! By strategically CoSourcing parts of your processes, your practice or facility can prevent revenue leakage and strengthen financial performance. CMS’ New Interoperability & Prior Authorization Rule — and How Blubyrd Is Leading the Way CMS’ final rule (CMS-0057-F), released January 2024, marks a major shift in healthcare interoperability and prior authorization. Here’s what’s coming—and how Blubyrd is already ahead: Key Requirements Faster decisions (2026): Payers must respond in 7 days (standard) or 72 hours (expedited), with clear denial reasons. API mandates (2027): Patient Access API: Adds PA data for full visibility. Provider Access API: Real-time access to claims, encounters, USCDI data, and PA status. Payer-to-Payer API: Ensures continuity of care with 5 years of shared data. Prior Authorization API: Automates PA requests and responses. These changes cut administrative friction, improve transparency, and give providers more time for patient care. Blubyrd is already ahead PriorAuth Assistance: Direct EHR submission + real-time status updates. Centralized Data Hub: Seamless exchange across providers, payers, and participants. At Blubyrd, we’re not just complying—we’re building the interoperable future of healthcare. Let’s connect and explore how your organization can get ahead of these changes. #interoperability #BluByrd #Healthtech

📈EHR adoption is accelerating across ASCs, yet many centers still rely on disconnected or paper-based systems. As reporting requirements, patient experience expectations, and clinical complexity increase, foundational systems must support how information flows across the organization. Digital readiness goes beyond simple efficiency. It impacts quality reporting, contract negotiations, cybersecurity, and staff workload. When systems aren't built for data sharing, every new requirement becomes harder to manage. For ASC leaders, technology choices shape daily operations. Investing in systems that enable real-time data sharing, safeguard patient information, and adapt as requirements evolve helps centers stay efficient, compliant, and ready for future challenges. 💡How is your ASC preparing its systems to keep pace with change? Interops Team

For leaders and teams who aren’t EMR-trained but must collaborate closely with those who are. Health systems that purchase cusomizable EMR's, such as Altera Sunrise (formerly Allscripts/Eclipsys), Oracle Health (formerly Cerner), or Epic depend on EMR-trained business and clinical analysts, builders, coders and technical staff to keep clinical systems running. But as data moves beyond a single EMR, new challenges emerging standards, integrations, and compliance. Interops Team™ brings Healthcare IT expertise to connect, extend, and secure those environments. Within a provider organization that are not vendor supported, both Health IT and Healthcare IT refer to professionals who are trained and seasoned in EMR environments, designing, building, and supporting clinical applications. They configure modules and workflows clinicians rely on every day: charting, documentation, order sets, medication workflows, and patient-administration functions. Some focus deeply within a single EMR; others work across vendors and facilities to connect EMR workflows with lab, imaging, pharmacy, payer, and external systems. They bring fluency in standards such as HL7, FHIR, C-CDA, DICOM, and X12 so clinical data moves safely and in compliance across the enterprise. Interops Team™ complements EMR teams. We work in the spaces between systems, interoperability, architecture, and governance, so vendor-trained teams can build with confidence. Find out more: https://interopsteam.com/

Big changes ahead: CMS is overhauling prior authorization in 2026. A new federal rule means practices working with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and CHIP plans must prepare for FHIR®-enabled APIs, stricter response timelines, and enhanced transparency. Here’s what’s changing: • Electronic prior authorization via FHIR® API becomes the new standard. • Faster response times: 72 hours for urgent requests, 7 calendar days for standard. • Improved data sharing and traceability across payers and providers. • Applies to 17 outpatient service categories as part of streamlined approvals. This is a critical step toward reducing administrative burden and improving the patient experience but the compliance deadlines are real. Now is the time to strengthen your processes and tech infrastructure. Need help navigating what this means for your practice? Let’s talk! ReveNewCycle is ready to support your transition. Legacy Data Access

Healthcare data archiving is critical for compliance, absolutely. But we started to ask some different types of questions. Such as... Can access to longitudinal data... ✅ Enhance continuity of care for patients? ✅ Improve clinical workflows for providers? ✅ Give providers more information for clinical decision-making and care planning? ✅ Be easier through integration with existing tools? Working with healthcare providers all over the country, we learned that providers, HIM and rev cycle leaders and IT teams all need easier and meaningful access to historical data. There's value in yesterday's data. LDA can help uncover it. https://lnkd.in/ew2_WPXH #HealthcareDataArchive #ContinuityOfCare #ClinicalIntegration #ReleaseOfInformation #ARWorkdown

Waiting on prior authorizations shouldn't slow care or cash flow. Yet too often, teams are stuck manually checking portals, making phone calls, and hoping nothing slips through the cracks. SparkChange turns authorizations into actionable workflows. Systems track status automatically. Alerts surface delays. Escalations happen when approvals are at risk. Payer rules are part of the process, so nothing gets lost. Your team spends less time waiting and more time moving revenue forward. Approvals happen faster, denials drop, and patient care stays on track. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gh2DB3H8
