Ashley Skyrme reacted on thisAshley Skyrme reacted on thisThis past weekend, I had the opportunity to travel to New York City with Pitt Business for an immersive site visit experience. Over the course of the trip, we visited companies like Meta and Kantar, gaining firsthand insight into their work, company culture, and how innovation comes to life. A major highlight was connecting with Pitt alumni in NYC who shared their career journeys, advice, and perspectives on navigating the professional world. Hearing their stories, from Oakland to roles in fields like tech and marketing, was incredibly motivating and reinforced the importance of building genuine professional relationships. It was also great to reconnect with so many Delta Sigma Pi alumni throughout the weekend. Seeing DSP members thriving across different industries and taking the time to support current students reminded me why being part of this organization is so meaningful. Beyond the site visits, the conversations and connections built with fellow Pitt Business students made the experience even more impactful. Huge thank you to everyone who made this trip possible! Special shoutout to Kaitlin P., Lucas Walkowski, Alex Byington, Alyssa Rothman, Anna Sheppard, Marcela Fioranelli, Niral Bangha, & Catherine C.! #H2P

Over two days, I had the opportunity to connect with accomplished Pitt Business alumni, explore career paths at Meta and Kantar through exclusive site visits, and build lasting relationships with fellow Panthers. Hearing from alumni about their journeys from Oakland to leading roles in tech and consulting was both inspiring and invaluable. The site visits gave me firsthand insight into how these companies approach innovation, data, and problem-solving at scale. Just as meaningful were the conversations with other business students; exchanging ideas, sharing ambitions, and strengthening the Pitt network. Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible and to the alumni who generously shared their time and wisdom. H2P!

We discuss what CEOs need to do to lead through volatility, invest with conviction, and build cultures that balance risk taking with accountability. A lot of leaders I talk with right now are balancing two realities: delivering today—and investing for what’s next. This conversation is a good one to add to your list. IBM CEO Arvind Krishna joins Eric Kutcher on Inside the Strategy Room to discuss the AI landscape, the potential of quantum computing, and the leadership choices behind IBM’s recent growth momentum—including how to pursue opportunity amid volatility without becoming too risk-averse. 🎧 Listen here: https://bit.ly/4sVKSp4

Insightful perspective in CIO Online on how #CEOs are leaning on #CIOs to speed up #AI deployment and deliver economic value from their #AI investments quickly. Based on my own discussions with CEOs, I fully agree with Mark A. Taylor Society for Information Management (SIM) comment that many CEOs are proactively preparing for the disruptive #transformation that AI is bringing, rather than being caught off guard by competitors. This means that CEOs are looking to #IT to build for the future. They are pushing CIOs to spend less of their IT budgets on 'run' activities to free up capital to drive new capabilities—all to build the enterprise of the new. CIOs are at a pivotal moment. They have to be able to demonstrate—not just to CEOs but to the entire C-Suite—that they know how to get the value from AI and all tech investments that will help their organizations grow and stay competitive in the long term. Mary K. Pratt thank you for giving me the chance to discuss this topic with you. Koenraad SchelfautFrédéric BrunierTejas R. PatelDavid LecksteinChris Roark https://lnkd.in/eEvfUeU5

Great work from my BCG colleagues Vladimir Lukic, Val Panier, John Wu, Margot Bleys, Anna Senko, Ryan Gharios and Trula Rael, in this whitepaper developed in collaboration with the Massachusetts High Technology Council, Inc. on the state of tech talent here in Massachusetts. What stood out to me most, as I read it, was the urgency. We are developing exceptional AI talent, but we are not keeping enough of it. We are losing 60% of our AI grads to other states, while peers like NY and NJ are outpacing us with bigger, more coordinated investments. This is personal, as a Boston native, as a tech leader, and as a father of two sons who are at the beginning of their own careers in tech here in MA (one in cybersecurity, the other soon graduating in computer science). We have the institutions, the talent, and the grit to lead. But leadership now means acting with purpose across business, government, and education. #TechTalent #FutureOfWork

Digital Infrastructure at a Crossroads The data center industry is entering a period of dramatic transformation. As I discussed with Katharina S. from TMT Finance, with less than 50% of players in the DC AI ecosystem having visibility into demand over the next 12 months, volatility is coming. This is amplified by a staggering fact that two-thirds of players anticipate potential distress ahead. This is driven by an expected fundamental shift from training to inferencing, evolving silicon architecture. The question isn't whether change is coming—it's who will adapt fast enough to win. Watch my full interview with TMT Finance to hear more about what's shaping 2026. https://lnkd.in/ejhDFFNY

In a recent report, my BCG colleagues Debbie Lovich, Julie Bedard, Matthew Kropp, and Chenault Taylor make the point that successful AI adoption is not just the technology but people. Companies need to shift their focus towards employees to fully harness the potential of Generative AI. Instead of solely prioritizing productivity, enhancing the employee experience by making work more enjoyable and empowering leads to faster adoption of new tools. Discover how reimagining the employee experience can unlock the full potential of GenAI here: https://lnkd.in/gWkxkU9Y

CEO agendas are changing in subtle ways that do not always show up in strategy decks. In recent earnings calls, AI remains a constant, but the conversation is widening beyond early adopters. Computing demand is bringing data centers and nuclear energy into sharper focus. Cost discipline continues to shape decisions, with less emphasis on blunt cost reduction. BCG’s CEO Data Point captures these shifts by analyzing roughly 6,000+ earnings calls across industries and regions, tracking how leadership language evolves over time. The result is a clear read on how peers are adjusting priorities in practice. The analysis provides a closer look at the latest CEO priorities. https://on.bcg.com/46q8Sqy
