Two excellent days of discussion at the 14th annual #AmericasSpectrum Management Conference. The big theme was the hunt for 800 MHz of additional spectrum for mobile to support 5G and future 6G in the USA. Almost certainly, 100 MHz will come through the release of additional Upper C-band spectrum by satellite. But it is far from obvious where the rest will come from. Yesterday, existing CBRS users put up a robust defense of their band, demonstrating widespread innovation and new deployments. And today, on my panel, Audrey Mikula of Charter Communications, Kristine Hackman of Amazon and Martha Suarez of the DSA all made a strong case for continued WiFi use of the entire 6 GHz band. Campbell Massie of the GSMA appeared resigned to targeting other bands for mobile, perhaps including the Lower 7 GHz.

AI optimism is rising and it’s reshaping CEO priorities.    BCG’s 2026 AI Radar survey of 2,300+ C-level executives across 21 markets shows AI has moved to the top of the CEO agenda, fueled by growing confidence in returns.    65% of CEOs now rank accelerating AI among their top three priorities, while 82% say they are more optimistic about AI’s ROI than they were a year ago.    That optimism comes with pressure.
