Let me show you how we help mold machine companies do "post" mold testing with vertical Yamaha LCMR200s and not take up a ton of floor space. Vertical Yamaha LCMR200 Linear Conveyor: ➡️ Compact design fits next to your mold machine. (Wholly molly space saver) ➡️ Up to 2,500 mm/sec. (Fast enough for a 2 second mold cycle!) ➡️ + or - 5 micron for pallet precision. (Good enough for molded medical parts) ➡️ Up to 30KG per pallet. (We hope that you are not molding a 66 lb part!) ➡️ Seamless integration with your existing PLCs. (Controls Engineers, I got you) Imagine this: ➡️ Your robot loads parts DIRECTLY onto the LCMR200. ➡️ No intermediate conveyors. ➡️ No feeder bowls and secondary automation ➡️ No additional floor space for another automation machine. ➡️ No wasted time. Don't you hate having to keep the mold "closed" while the pick robot returns? Mold Process Engineers did all that work to mold the part as fast as possible, all that to wait on the picker robot and down stream automation? Your mold picker robot has the part gripped, place the part directly on the Yamaha LCMR200 and finish the post mold testing you need (hi-pot, leak, vision testing) without having a second automation machine somewhere else on your production floor. The result? Manufacturers are seeing cycle time reductions up to 20%. One case study showed: ➡️ 20% reduction in cycle times. ➡️ 65% smaller footprint for the same automation. Stop letting space constraints and slow automation hold you back. It's time to optimize your post-molding operations. Ready to revolutionize your mold machine manufacturing process? Learn how the Yamaha LCMR200 can transform your production floor: https://lnkd.in/eWt-kEyk Special shout out to Visual Components, Andrew Cox, Brandt Cotherman and the rest of the VC team for helping us out with this one since NDAs prevent us from filming a "real" application. As always, Visual Components is a great company to partner with when you are trying to simulate automation. Thank you so much for your help VC! 🧠 Precision in Every Pass: Why CNC Machining is the Unsung Hero of Modern Manufacturing At AXIS Design and Machining in Glendale, AZ, we believe precision isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. We’re a small CNC machine shop with big capabilities, trusted by clients who know that experience, attention to detail, and strategic thinking matter just as much as the machines themselves. CNC machining is often the invisible force behind modern innovation. It enables: ✅ Repeatable, micron-level precision ✅ Scalable production across diverse materials ✅ Complex geometries that manual machining can’t match ✅ Faster iteration, shorter lead times But too often, companies treat CNC as an afterthought, brought in when the prototype hits a wall or the timeline slips. At AXIS Design and Machining, we flip that mindset: bring your ideas early, and let’s machine success into them from the start. 💡 Why Work With a Shop Like Ours? Big-name shops may have massive floor space, but at AXIS, we offer something just as valuable: experience, communication, and agility. We collaborate directly with engineers, startups, and manufacturers to: Optimize part designs for real-world machining Recommend the right materials for function and budget Navigate tight tolerances without production delays Deliver fast turnarounds without sacrificing quality Being a small shop means we stay personal, accountable, and hands-on. Our clients know the names of the people running their parts, and that makes a difference. 🔧 It’s Not Just the Machines......It’s the Machinists CNC machines are incredible, but they’re only as good as the people behind them. At AXIS, our team brings decades of combined experience to every job. We’ve helped companies move from prototype to production with fewer headaches and better outcomes. Whether it’s interpreting a tight-tolerance spec or solving a fixturing challenge no one else caught, we bring brains and skill to the spindle. 📢 Let’s Talk Before the Parts Hit the Floor If you’re: -Launching a new product -Scaling a prototype -Dealing with quality issues from another vendor …we’re here to help. Let’s start earlier, design smarter, and machine better .....together. 📍 Located in Glendale, AZ, proudly serving innovators across the Valley and beyond. Don’t wait until you need a quote. Let’s talk CNC strategy now. 💬 Have a design you’re unsure how to machine? Want a second opinion on tolerances or materials? Drop a comment or message us. #CNCmachining #ManufacturingExcellence #AZManufacturing #ProductDevelopment #DesignForManufacturing #PrecisionMachining #SmallShopBigImpact #AXISMachining #GlendaleAZ

“If every product had perfect quality, MRT wouldn’t be necessary.” But in reality, even the most advanced manufacturers face: • Small variations from high-speed machining • Micro-defects during tapping, welding, or heat treatment • Internal stress changes that are invisible to X-ray or cameras These aren’t signs of poor quality— They are the reality of precision manufacturing. That’s why MRT™ (Magnetic Resonance Testing) is not for low-end defect detection. MRT™ is for companies aiming to preserve ultra-high quality, detect internal anomalies early, and enhance long-term reliability. For global leaders like SK On, MRT™ provides: • A predictive layer beyond conventional inspection • Internal integrity assurance at the microstructural level • Data for AI-integrated, smart factory quality systems 📌 It’s not a replacement. It’s a strategic layer of trust, traceability, and transformation. Let’s talk if you’re building the future of EV, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing. #MRT #MagneticResonanceTesting #SKOn #EV #Aerospace #SmartFactory #QualityControl #NDT #Reliability #ZeroDefect #ManufacturingExcellence

Back pressure is one of the most overlooked causes of product damage. Especially with: • Glass containers • Housewares • Lightweight or unstable parts In this application, we used a side-flexing roller top chain with an accumulating transfer chute to solve exactly that problem. The goal wasn’t just to move product— it was to protect it during accumulation and transfer. By allowing controlled accumulation with minimal back pressure, this type of surface helps: Prevent product damage Maintain flow through curves and transitions Handle delicate parts without sacrificing throughput Because when products touch… they don’t always forgive.

"Just wire up CiA402 — it's a standard." Anyone who's actually integrated an EtherCAT servo drive knows what that line really costs: - SDO timeouts. - PDO mapping mismatches. - State machine transitions. - Modes of Operation setup. And only then — your actual control logic. In this demo we used ICOP Technology Inc QEC-M-01 as the EtherCAT master and a SANYO DENKI CO., LTD. DENKI SANMOTION G drive. The bring-up: 1. Scan the EtherCAT network in 86EVA. 2. Configure the SANMOTION G + CiA402 parameters in the GUI. 3. 86EVA writes the state-machine code for you. 4. Compile your sketch (Arduino-style C++ via 86Duino). 5. Flash. Drive enters OPERATIONAL. Demo video, full step-by-step, and 86EVA download — link in the first comment. #EtherCAT #CiA402 #ServoDrive #MotionControl #SANYODENKI #SANMOTION #IndustrialAutomation #QEC #86Duino

Switch from Casting to Hogouts You can get your parts much faster by switching from cast parts to machined billets (aka “hogouts”). Lighthouse Sales Group LLC works with the highest quality Machine Centers for Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial Machined parts. AS9100 & ISO 9001 Certified. We Can deliver machined parts up to 90 days faster than you’ll receive most cast parts but also ensure exceptional quality unmatched by most casting processes. 7 Facts to Transition from Castings to Machined Billet Parts Rather than forming your parts through casting or forging, LSG Machine Centers will machine billets to create what’s known as a “hogout.” Our shops have the necessary 5-axis machines and a team of design advisors who can provide the latest Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidance for converting your part from casting to hogout. Advantages 1. Shorter lead times – weeks not Months 2. Better strength Castings are inherently porous, which decreases their overall strength. Parts machined from billet material are much stronger and denser than castings. 3. Fewer secondary processes A casting’s porousness also creates challenges when finishing processes are required. Prior to finishing, a cast part must be impregnated with resin—often more than once—in a tedious process intended to fill and seal the poured material’s tiny pores. Pre-finishing processes are not necessary when using CNC machining services since hogouts are already dense, high-integrity parts. 4. Improved finishing results Finishing processes such as powder coating and anodizing are simpler to perform effectively on hogouts versus castings. 5. Expanded material options There are fewer materials available for cast parts than for hogouts. Most castings are aluminum, though stainless steel, iron, and bronze are also options. When you choose billet material and CNC machining services, your material options are limited only by the part’s application and your specifications. 6. Flexible quantities Logically, most casting houses have strict minimums for poured parts. Due to the costs and times required to make castings, shops cannot efficiently make them in low quantities. Hogouts are typically much faster to make, allowing us to offer lower quantities without charging huge fees. If your part is relatively simple with no hidden features, we can likely produce it in a volume as low (or high) as you need! 7. Reduced overall cost – No tooling Design for Manufacturing for Hogouts vs. Cast Parts Complexity of casting may not be a good fit - Determine whether your part is a good candidate for machining instead of Casting or design modifications Contact Lighthouse Sales Group LLC about Transitioning to 100% Machined Parts Submit your Quote Request Email: Sales@Lighthousesalesgroup.com Call - 815-391-3776 https://lnkd.in/g3kgcJpd Lighthouse Sales Group LLC Metallics, Inc.

If you buy custom parts, this will sound familiar… “Our machines contain hundreds of bespoke components. Sourcing manufacturers used to take significant time and resources.” That’s how Benson Viscometers described their procurement challenge before using Qimtek. With strict requirements around traceability, ISO 9001, NDAs and long-term continuity, they needed a faster, safer way to find the right UK suppliers — not just any suppliers. By using Qimtek’s Drag, Drop, Source approach, Benson now: • Speeds up quoting • Keeps production flowing • Maintains compliance • Finds reliable partners for repeat work A great real-world example for any buyer sourcing precision or custom parts. 👉 Read the full case study: https://loom.ly/kuH6nZE

Cornerstone Reshoring • 1K followers
Workflow ownership usually exists, and there’s almost always a name attached to it. The issue shows up when the owner doesn’t match the work the workflow requires. A design engineer can own a process and still lack the day-to-day process engineering depth to stabilize it. A manufacturing or process engineer can own a recurring failure and still lack the design horsepower to fix the fixture, alignment, or machine interface. That gap turns into repeated breakdowns, workarounds, and problems that stay “managed” instead of solved. Cornerstone helps by bringing the missing expertise and building the practical tooling changes that owners need to execute. The result is clearer execution, fewer recurring issues, and a workflow that actually improves over time.

Any machinist utilizing wire edm is aware that some issues with power feed can cause brass build-up on your part, but this is actually how Seibu America Corporation 's patented "core stitch" technology works. This patented Seibu technology is able to control the conditions that cause this brassing, and does so at certain programmed points. A small amount of brass is deposited on those points, which grounds the slug to the part. You can then remove the slug or part on the machine (an additional option on Seibu Wire EDMs), or manually once out of the machine, as we're doing in this video! 🚀 Introducing the STM – Shutter Tailoring Machine Texas Machine Design is excited to introduce our newest automation platform for shutter manufacturing: the STM (Shutter Tailoring Machine). STM is designed to perform the final precision tailoring of assembled shutter panels, automating several critical finishing operations that have traditionally required significant manual labor and operator skill. The system combines laser scanning, automated machining, and integrated quality verification to ensure that each panel is finished accurately and consistently. Key capabilities of the STM include: • Selectable-resolution laser scanning to locate the true panel geometry • Up to a 150-point QC inspection of every panel • Panel conformance reports that can be delivered with the finished product • Automatic panel sizing and trimming • Hinge pilot hole drilling • Flush hinge mortising • End bores for attachment hardware • Automatic job number labeling for full traceability By referencing the actual physical panel geometry rather than relying solely on nominal dimensions, STM ensures each operation is positioned precisely where it belongs—even when panels vary slightly. The result: ✔ Consistent panel quality ✔ Reduced manual labor ✔ Faster production throughput ✔ Built-in quality verification ✔ Improved installation accuracy Over the next several posts, we’ll be sharing short videos demonstrating the key operations performed by STM, beginning today with laser scanning and quality verification. Stay tuned as we highlight how each step contributes to a fully automated panel-tailoring process. #ManufacturingAutomation #IndustrialAutomation #SmartManufacturing #FactoryAutomation #Industry40 #TexasMachineDesign

As CNC Machining - San Diego pointed out on my post yesterday, I forgot to include a video of the actual tool cabinet on the shop floor at Heshel Machine Co. LLC. Wanted to follow up and share it here to get your thoughts, and hopefully see how others are setting up their own systems! This setup continues to work really well for our two-person shop (one full-time, one part-time). The bin colors correspond to different subdivisions of our tool library, and the labels are designed to give just the right amount of information when you’re in the middle of a setup. (Yes I know we don't have every box filled just yet!) Each label shows: -Which subdivision of the library the tool belongs to -The tool number -A short description of the tool I also added a QR code that links directly to the manufacturer’s product page, along with a small reference image for quick visual confirmation. This level of organization has allowed us to handle a large percentage of our day-to-day setups using just two drawers, which has been a huge efficiency win. As a bonus, you can also see how we organize our ER collets! Always interested in seeing how other shops approach tool organization. #machining #cncmachining #machineshop #tooling #manufacturing #shoporganization #machinistlife #metalworking

Predicting Jetting Through a Gate in Injection Molding Using Moldex3D Anytime, Anywhere: Cloud Training for Manufacturing Pros Take a "Kruse" 🛳️ 🛳️ 🛳️ (Cruise) and stay on "Kruse Control". https://lnkd.in/eEKtzA7h Jetting is a common flow defect in injection molding, where the molten polymer shoots through the gate in a fast, narrow stream rather than flowing smoothly and uniformly. This can lead to surface blemishes, internal voids, and poor mechanical properties. Predicting and controlling jetting is crucial for achieving high part quality, particularly in thin-wall, aesthetically sensitive parts.
