NEEDLE INSERTION INTO SUBCUTANEOUS TARGET
Filed US WO2020142338A1
Real-time compensation of a needle path into tissue comprises detecting initiation of a needle insertion operation, monitoring a condition associated with the detected needle insertion operation as the needle follows a first path toward a target point, and performing a dynamic compensation modification where a change is detected in the monitored condition that deviates beyond a first predetermined threshold. Dynamic compensation is carried out by calculating a correction necessary to compensate…
Dynamic compensation is carried out by calculating a correction necessary to compensate the needle insertion operation based upon the detected change in the monitored condition, generating a likelihood that the calculated correction will result in a successful needle insertion, and transmitting a command to a delivery system that effectuates insertion of the needle based upon the calculated correction where the generated likelihood exceeds a second predetermined threshold, otherwise transmitting a command to stop the needle insertion operation before the needle breaches the tissue.

SUBCUTANEOUS DELIVERY SYSTEM
Filed US WO2020142340A1
A subcutaneous delivery apparatus comprises a body, an arm having a distal end and a proximal end, the arm coupled to the body about the proximal end such that the arm articulates relative to the body in at least one degree of freedom, a track that extends along at least a portion of the arm, and a drive magnetic coupler that traverses along the track. In use, the drive magnetic coupler magnetically couples to a cartridge magnetic coupler through a sterile barrier that forms a physical…

In use, the drive magnetic coupler magnetically couples to a cartridge magnetic coupler through a sterile barrier that forms a physical separation therebetween such that motion of the drive magnetic coupler along the track causes corresponding motion of the cartridge magnetic coupler across the sterile barrier.

Leak Detection System and Method for Tube or Catheter Placement
Issued US 20130228171
Relates to a leak detection system and method for tube or catheter placement. The system and method includes acoustically sensing a leak in the seal between a tube or catheter within a body and the body cavity against which it is sealed, assisting the user in adjusting the system until the leak has been substantially sealed, and establishing system parameters to be used thereafter to maintain the system in an operating state that will substantially prevent leakage, all using a noninvasive…

Plasma retention structure providing internal flow
Issued US 6406672
A capillary hematocrit separation structure is included within a housing having a fluid inlet port, a reaction region, and a capillary pathway connecting the inlet port and the reaction region. The capillary pathway is dimensioned so that the driving force for the movement of liquid through the capillary pathway arises from capillary pressure. A plurality of obstructions are fixed in the capillary pathway, each obstruction having a concave portion facing toward the vented reaction region on the…

The capillary pathway is dimensioned so that the driving force for the movement of liquid through the capillary pathway arises from capillary pressure. A plurality of obstructions are fixed in the capillary pathway, each obstruction having a concave portion facing toward the vented reaction region on the down stream side of the obstructions as viewed with reference to a liquid flowing from the inlet port to the reaction region. The capillary pathway in a hematocrit separation structure for a single drop sample size includes about 105 obstructions, each obstruction including a concave portion having a volume of between about 10−4 to 10−5 &mgr;l for selectively receiving hematocrit.
