Andrew Michael Angelin reposted thisAndrew Michael Angelin reposted thisA lot of people don’t realize just how big Colombia actually is. Colombia is about the size of California, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada combined. People from the US see those states as massive, yet many founders view Colombia as just mid-size. Colombia has 52 million people (California has 39 million), making it the third most populous country in Latin America. Bogotá alone has 11 million residents (compared to 8 million in New York City). Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, and Cartagena are also large, each with its own ecosystem of universities, multinationals, and strong professional infrastructure. Colombia’s top 10% of professionals are not only more cost-effective than US hires, but often a better fit. They deliver more value and better performance than the average US hire, regardless of salary. I stand by this with complete confidence. Many senior Colombian engineers and operators have multinational experience, handle complex challenges, and work well across time zones. In Colombia, calling someone "berraco" is one of the highest compliments. It means someone is gritty, capable, and relentless. The word exists because of the culture that produces people like that. Growing up and working in tougher environments makes them more resourceful and determined, qualities that are rare to find elsewhere. Time zones are another advantage: Colombia is on Eastern Standard Time, so your team starts work when you do. You’ll be on your first call before your tintico gets cold. That’s the small black coffee Colombians serve to everyone, any time, for any reason. If you’ve been in a Colombian office, it's always available. Communication is another strength. Colombians are warm and direct. They often fit into US teams faster than most other regional talent. There’s real depth in the talent pool, with engineers, operators, marketers, finance experts, customer success professionals, and salespeople. It’s the full stack. Founders who have overlooked Colombia are still competing for talent in the same three markets as everyone else. But those who are paying attention are building something different.

Andrew Michael Angelin liked thisAndrew Michael Angelin liked thisI’m genuinely starting to think online job hunting is one giant test of how much rejection and uncertainty a person can handle before feeling completely drained. I’ve applied to so many jobs on LinkedIn and other sites that I’ve honestly lost count. At this point, I’m not even expecting an interview anymore; I’d just appreciate an email back. Anything. A rejection email. An automated response. A carrier pigeon. Something. Instead, it’s mostly silence. You spend hours updating your resume. Rewriting cover letters. Answering long application questions. Filling out forms with information that’s already on your resume. Only to hear absolutely nothing back. And after a while, that silence starts getting to you. Sometimes LinkedIn feels less like networking and more like a constant performance of success. Every post is: “I’m excited and honored to announce…” Meanwhile, there are people applying every single day, doing everything they’re supposed to do, and still struggling just to get a response. And honestly, I think that’s the part people don’t talk about enough. The constant applying. The waiting. The uncertainty. Refreshing your inbox hoping something finally comes through. Wondering if your application was even seen by a real person. And after seeing the same positions reposted over and over again, you start wondering how many of these jobs are actually being filled and how many are just there to make companies look like they’re growing. After a while, it stops feeling like: “Maybe I need to improve my resume.” And starts feeling like: “Does anybody even see these applications?” I know a lot of people are trying their best right now. People want to work. People are putting in effort every single day behind the scenes that nobody sees. It’s just exhausting feeling invisible in the process. And honestly, I know I can’t be the only person feeling this way.
-
Andrew Michael Angelin liked thisAndrew Michael Angelin liked thisOne thing no one really talks about during a long job search is how hard it becomes to keep recognizing yourself. At first, you apply with confidence. Then come the interviews. The “you were a strong candidate, but…” The final rounds. The almost offers. The jobs that felt perfect until they disappeared. And slowly, without realizing it, you start measuring your worth by response times, recruiter updates, and whether your inbox is quiet that day. I caught myself doing that recently. I was sitting there replaying every answer from an interview I genuinely felt good about, trying to decode tiny details like they were clues to my future. Not because I’m dramatic, but because when you want something badly enough, uncertainty becomes exhausting. But here’s what I’m learning: Being in transition does not mean I stopped being talented. Waiting does not erase experience. And rejection does not rewrite everything I’ve already accomplished. The hardest part of unemployment is not just financial stress. It’s protecting your sense of self while the world keeps making you feel “pending.” So if you’re in the middle of this too: Please remember that your current situation is not your permanent identity. Keep applying. Keep showing up. Keep believing your yes still exists, even on the days that belief feels quieter. We are closer than we think.

Andrew Michael Angelin liked thisSix months ago, I never imagined I’d be here! Unemployed. Exhausting my unemployment benefits. DoorDashing to survive. Donating plasma twice a week to keep the lights on. Making impossible decisions between bills while still waking up every day determined to figure it out. And yet… here I am. Still standing. Over the last several months, I’ve applied to hundreds of roles. I’ve interviewed, networked, followed up, revised my resume, practiced my pitch, stayed optimistic, and kept showing up even on the days discouragement hit the hardest. I recently came incredibly close to landing a contract role I truly wanted. After multiple conversations and strong feedback, I thought this was finally going to be the breakthrough. Instead, the client’s workload shifted and the budget disappeared before an offer could come through. That disappointment hurt more than I can explain. But if this season has taught me anything, it’s this: - Resilience is not pretty. - It’s not motivational quotes and perfectly curated success stories. 👉 Sometimes resilience looks like crying in your car and still logging into another interview. 👉 Sometimes it looks like delivering food while dressed business casual because you came from an interview that “went great.” 👉 Sometimes it looks like praying your gas tank and faith both stretch far enough to make it through another week. I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only one navigating a difficult season quietly. So many talented, hardworking people are struggling right now despite doing everything “right.” And especially heading into a holiday weekend, I just want someone else out there to know: Your current situation is not a reflection of your worth! To everyone who has encouraged me, checked on me, shared opportunities, sent prayers, or simply reminded me to keep going — thank you. Truly. I don’t know exactly when my next opportunity is coming. But I do know this version of me — the one who kept going anyway — is someone I’ll always be proud of. Better days are coming... Ase!

The core of this dispute is whether AI companies can bypass licensing by claiming a market doesn't exist. Now that Warner has signed a deal, that defense is being tested. The outcome will likely determine if AI music generation becomes a 'walled garden' controlled by major labels or remains an open frontier for independent creators and students to explore. https://lnkd.in/ekQZV623 #Musicentrepreneurship #suno David Philp

🎯 Strategy Note for FEC Operators: The modern guest is losing faith in fun. That’s our opening - if we don’t blow it. Here’s what “leisure” looks like for the average person today: 🎮 AAA Games – You thought the cost of entry was low ($500 console, $2500 gaming rig outdated after 24 months) – $70 pre-order for a game that’s still broken at launch – $500 graphics card… if you can find one – Hours of updates before you can even play – And the game? Delayed, buggy, or soulless 🎢 Theme Parks – $100+ tickets – Half the rides offline – Long queues, rushed ops, overpriced food – You leave sunburnt and underwhelmed 🕹 Local FECs – Machines that look 8 years old – Sticky guns, jammed buttons – Staff doing time, not delivering joy – Layout feels like a retail clearance sale with neon So what happens? Guests opt out. Not just from one location—from the entire category of fun. And that’s where FECs can win. Not by copying games or theme parks. But by being the first place that still delivers. ✅ Instant fun, no download ✅ Worlds that work ✅ Hosts that see you ✅ A space you want to come back to Strategic Moves That Matter: Audit for friction like it’s a threat to survival Maintain like pride is on the line Curate joy, don’t stack machines Elevate staff to cast—train for impact, not presence Design for return play, not just redemptions The problem isn’t that guests don’t care anymore. It’s that too many industries trained them to lower expectations. FECs still have a window to be the last-mile heroes of joy. But only if they refuse to settle. Don’t blow it. 👾

https://lnkd.in/d7seVy73 👁️🗨️What may make the Universal AI Threshold Framework (UATF) unique? ✅It is cross-industry, not tied to a single field. ✅It uses modular thresholds, not checklists. ✅It is numerical, allowing automation. ✅It binds human responsibility explicitly. ✅It is designed for real-world operational workflows, not abstract theory. 💥This makes UATF original, practical, and publishable as a global AI governance standard. 👁️🗨️How the UATF became user-centric and why the numeric scoring naturally emerged from the questions? 💥Recognizing that People do not think in numerical risk scores, they think in QUESTIONS and finding the equivalence between all the factors. 📊This was my first way of compiling the concept... A comparative example with other regulatory solution: 💡If the EU AI Act defines what is legal 💡UATF defines what is responsible and who answers when things go wrong. #ResponsibleAI #EUAIAct #FrameworkImplementation #fullstack #CrossIndustrySolution #behindtheprocess

As Miami continues to rise as a production capital, it’s worth noting how aggressive the local landscape has become for film incentives — particularly at the county level. johnparrino.com The Miami-Dade County High Impact Film Fund Program currently offers a cash rebate of up to 20% on qualifying in-county production expenditures. Unlike a tax credit, this is a direct rebate — paid out after a professional audit and compliance verification — and it remains one of the most strategic film incentive structures in the Southeast. To qualify, productions must spend a minimum of $5 million locally, conduct at least 90% of Florida-based filming within Miami-Dade, and ensure 60% of the qualified labor force are county residents. At least 70% of vendors and contractors must also be Miami-Dade registered businesses. The program allocates $10 million per fiscal year, part of a five-year, $50 million commitment designed to attract high-value productions that stimulate job creation, vendor utilization, and cultural impact across the region. Rebates are distributed only after completion and audit verification by a Florida-licensed CPA. Productions must also include an on-screen credit acknowledging Miami-Dade County. For smaller productions, a second-tier grant structure awards up to $100,000 for projects spending $1 million or more in the county, and up to $50,000 for qualified spends between $500,000 and $1 million — with similar local hiring and vendor requirements. While no legislative changes have been announced yet for 2026, the county’s 20% rebate, $5 million minimum spend, and $10 million annual cap are expected to remain in effect through the upcoming cycle — reinforcing Miami-Dade’s long-term goal to anchor film, television, and streaming production within its growing creative economy. Miami’s trajectory is clear: between emerging studio infrastructure, global accessibility, and a maturing incentive framework, the next two years could define a true film and content corridor for South Florida. THE BIRDCAGE (1996) A landmark comedy of identity, family, and performance — The Birdcage reimagines the 1978 French film La Cage aux Folles through the lens of South Beach in the 1990s. Set in Miami’s flamboyant drag scene, the film delivers both high-style farce and heartfelt social satire, centering on the clash between authenticity and appearances. Director — Mike Nichols Writer — Elaine May (screenplay, based on La Cage aux Folles) Starring — Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest, Hank Azaria, Dan Futterman, and Calista Flockhart Setting — Miami’s South Beach, Florida Budget — $31 million Box Office — $185 million worldwide Awards — Academy Award Nomination (Best Art Direction–Set Decoration); Screen Actors Guild Award Nomination (Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture); GLAAD Media Award Winner (Outstanding Film) johnparrino.com Photo Image via PinkNews

Behind many global artists is sharp strategy and disciplined execution. Cristiana Votta is the Managing Director, Partner and Artist Manager at Alegria Agency, representing artists such as Deer Jade and Mita Gami, while also working closely with Black Coffee through Black Coffee Entertainment. With over a decade in the industry, she has built a career grounded in vision, identifying talent early, shaping clear trajectories, and protecting artists as they scale globally. Her work reflects patience, structure, and long-term thinking in an industry that often rewards short-term noise. Beyond management, she actively champions women and emerging generations in music, contributing to a more inclusive and progressive ecosystem. Leadership like this doesn’t seek the spotlight, it builds it.

Why do artists often struggle to see real money? Many artists sign deals where advances must be recouped before they see royalties. If an initial album doesn't recoup the advance, the debt rolls over, keeping them in the red. Accepting perks like cars adds to this debt. The lesson? Understand the financial implications of record deals. Avoid unnecessary upfront expenses that increase your debt to the label. #MusicIndustry #RecordDeals #ArtistAdvice #FinancialLiteracy
