“I ask you to envision what your future of San Marcos looks like, is it one that values natural resources for people, not AI?” Early Wednesday morning, the city of San Marcos, Texas blocked a $1.5B data center. We will continue see these types of blocks and delays. Data centers must have a robust stakeholder education and engagement plan in the communities where they plan to build.
