“There are only two genders. I never needed this before. I’m not changing how I talk.” Does this make you cringe? Me too. It's wrong and unkind. Most of us want to do better. But we don’t know what we don’t know. People often assume everyone knows what the words mean when they talk about gender. But many people don’t .  And most workplaces don’t teach the basics: → What does “nonbinary” mean? → What’s the difference between gender and sex? → How does someone transition? → What other pronouns might someone use? Inclusive communication shouldn’t be intimidating. It shouldn’t require a PhD in Gender Studies. It should be clear,  respectful,  and accessible to everyone.
