He was the SVP and GM for Cloud Security at Symantec, leading research and development for Cloud Security Products.Rehan came into Symantec with $4.7B acquisition of Bluecoat, where he ran cloud security. He came into BlueCoat via the $280M acquisition of Elastica, that he founded and ran as CEO. Elastica innovated CASB and drove it to become an important security category. Prior to that, he was the founder and chief executive officer of WiChours, an innovator in deep packet inspection centered packet core, which was used to deploy some of the earliest 4G networks. WiChorus was acquired by Tellabs for $180M. Previously, he was Chief Architect at Aperto and helped innovate multicore processors at Sun Microsystems. He was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur finalist in 2010 and Top 25 Disruptor in 2015.He holds an AMP from Harvard Business School, an MSEE from Purdue University and a BS from NED University. Pakistani-Owned Tech Company Sold for $1.7 Billion Securiti AI, founded by Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil, has been acquired by Veeam for about $1.7 billion. The company provides data-security and AI-governance tools used to protect and manage data across cloud platforms. Jalil will join Veeam as president of security and AI after the deal closes later this year. The acquisition is celebrated as a major success for Pakistani talent in the global tech industry. Need help escalating a critical ISP network-level issue affecting applications in Pakistan. We’ve recently observed that on PTCL and Jazz broadband networks, certain sub-domains (e.g. abc.xyz.com) used for our API endpoints and CDN delivery appear to be intermittently inaccessible. To clarify: - The platform is operating normally across other ISPs and networks - There are no application, server, or CDN-side issues - The behavior points toward a network-level or routing/DNS-related challenge These are highly technical matters and understandably not something front-line support teams are equipped to handle. For SaaS businesses serving thousands of merchants, resolving such issues is business-critical and directly tied to user experience and trust. We’d really value engagement from senior technical or network teams at PTCL.Official and Jazz who can help review and address this at the appropriate level. A student from Balochistan has won an international honor for innovating banana fiber. Muhammad Sarfaraz, a researcher at BUITEMS, won the Discover Natural Fibre Initiative (DNFI) Award on January 15, 2026, in Frankfurt, Germany, surpassing more than 100 global entries. His project converts millions of tons of discarded banana stems into high-quality textile material through a three-stage process: extraction, conversion into yarn, and fabric production. To enable large-scale production, Sarfaraz has developed low-cost machines capable of producing 1,000 kilograms of fiber from the waste of a single acre. With pilot projects already active in Sukkur and Lasbela, experts estimate that Pakistan can produce 500 million kilograms of fiber annually. The potential global market value of this innovation is $1 billion, promising sustainable employment for thousands of households in Sindh and Balochistan. #Balochistan
