Leverage Connected Projects in Recruiter

Last updated: 4 weeks ago

Who can use this feature?

Connected Projects
and Hiring Assistant are currently available to a subset of LinkedIn Recruiter customers whose language setting is English and whose ATSs support Recruiter System Connect Plus (RSC+). We’re gradually making these features available, and you might not have access at this time. You can see if your ATS supports RSC+ here. You can learn more about Hiring Assistant here.

With Connected Projects, you can link LinkedIn Recruiter hiring projects to job requisitions synced from your ATS through Recruiter System Connect Plus (RSC+). Each Connected Project creates a single source of truth for your team to manage every applicant (onsite Easy Apply and offsite ATS applicants) in one place. If LinkedIn Hiring Assistant is enabled, Connected Projects provides the context Hiring Assistant needs to evaluate your ATS applicants alongside sourced candidates.

Working in a Connected Project

Inside a Connected Project, you have a single workspace where you can:

  • View all your applicants in one place: Connected Projects shows applicants from both onsite (LinkedIn Easy Apply) and offsite (ATS via RSC+) sources together, clearly labeled by application source, ATS logo, and current application stage.
  • Quickly focus your applicant list: Easily filter applicants by source or by their current stage in your ATS, helping you prioritize your workflow and manage applicants efficiently.
  • Confirm your hiring criteria (if using Hiring Assistant): If Hiring Assistant is enabled on a Connected Project that you own, you’ll be prompted as the project owner to confirm or adjust your role details and qualifications. This step ensures that Hiring Assistant accurately evaluates applicants, and is required to initiate Hiring Assistant applicant evaluations.
  • Get automatic evaluations and recommendations: After Hiring Assistant evaluates your applicants, you’ll see evaluations displayed on each applicant’s profile (within the Applicants tab), streamlining your decision-making process. More details on applicant evaluation are available here.
  • View applicant evaluations in your ATS: Hiring Assistant evaluations will be visible in your ATS via the Recruiter System Connect Profile Widget.

Requirements to use Connected Projects

  • Recruiter System Connect Plus (RSC+) must be enabled. Your LinkedIn Recruiter contract must have an active integration with your ATS through RSC+. Visit the "Leverage RSC+ FAQ" in the below Learn more section for more detail.
  • You need appropriate access to requisitions in your ATS. If you are not a Recruiter contract admin, you must be listed as the job requisition’s owner or as a collaborator to create a Connected Project. If no access control exists for a given job requisition, you’ll be able to view it and connect it to a hiring project.
  • Hiring Assistant must be enabled. To use Hiring Assistant to evaluate applicants from your ATS, your Recruiter contract must have Hiring Assistant enabled and you must hold the Hiring Assistant permission.

Important to know

Each RSC job requisition can connect to only one Connected Project at a time in a single contract. To change the connection, you’ll need to archive the existing Connected Project first, then reconnect the job elsewhere.

How Connected Projects are created

Trigger: An ATS job requisition syncs to LinkedIn Recruiter via Recruiter System Connect Plus (RSC+).

Scenario What happens Who can take action
ATS job requisition matches an existing enterprise wrapped job LinkedIn Recruiter places the requisition into a list accessible from the Projects page. From there, choose to link it to the matching enterprise job project (which will be surfaced as a suggestion) or create a new Connected Project.

Note: LinkedIn Recruiter never auto-creates Connected Projects when matches are found, even if automation is enabled.
- Job requisition owner or collaborators

- Admin

ATS job requisition does not match an existing enterprise wrapped job If automation is ON: LinkedIn Recruiter automatically creates a Connected Project.

If automation is OFF (default): LinkedIn Recruiter places the requisition into a list accessible from the Projects page. You’ll manually link it to an existing project or create a new Connected Project.
- Admin controls automation setting, which is defaulted to OFF

- Admin or job requisition owner or collaborators create Connected Projects if automation is off

Important to know

Automation is optional and admin-controlled. Admins can enable automatic Connected Project creation in Recruiter settings. If automation is off, you’ll manually create Connected Projects from your synced requisitions.

Access and permissions

Role or permission What you can do
Recruiter Admin - Turn automated Connected Project creation on or off for the contract.

- Link synced ATS job requisitions to existing projects or create new Connected Projects when no project owner or collaborators are identified.

- Assign someone else in your Recruiter dashboard to be the owner of a Connected Project.
Job requisition owner or collaborator (non-Admin) - Link synced ATS job requisitions you own (or collaborate on) to existing projects, or create new Connected Projects from those requisitions. You’ll be able to connect ATS job requisitions to existing projects only if you have full project access.
Hiring Assistant permission

- If Hiring Assistant is enabled on a Connected Project you own, review and confirm hiring intent and qualifications before candidate evaluation starts. You must explicitly tell Hiring Assistant to start applicant evaluation – evaluation will not happen automatically even if Hiring Assistant is enabled during project connection.

- View Hiring Assistant applicant evaluations within the RSC Profile Widget.

All other seatholders on a Recruiter contract containing Connected Projects - View applicants within a public Connected Project, including their ATS source, application status, and Hiring Assistant evaluations (if available).
