In partnership with National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) we are launching a 12-month programme for graduate students and early career researchers to inspire positive change at their institutions. The NC3Rs and Only Good Antibodies community (OGA) community are recruiting Antibody Champions to address the significant waste of animals in the production and use of poorly characterised and inadequately performing antibodies. Applicants are not expected to already be experts in antibody validation – we are looking for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from academia or industry who are motivated to drive change in research culture, improve research quality and minimise animal use.

🔍 The antibody reproducibility crisis continues to challenge biomedical research. Across labs worldwide, time and money is lost to antibodies that don't perform consistently. Their approach enables researchers to directly compare antibodies between different vendors. 📣 We are excited to announce that we are exhibiting at #SfN25 from November 15 -19 in 📍San Diego, California. ▶️ Visit the YCharOS booth # 3628 to learn more about our systematic and unbiased antibody characterization efforts. ✅ Our workflow relies on genetic - knockout and knockdown - controls to confirm commercial antibody specificity.

We looked at the cell biology of most of the genes/proteins implicated in ALS using only high-quality antibodies that gave no signal on knock-out cells, courtesy of YCharOS Inc. Lots of surprises and the lessons are: 1) look at the protein levels not mRNA levels, and 2) don’t assume your protein is expressed in the cell-type you expect! https://lnkd.in/gCXmiFCz
