  • 🙌 40,000 emails 🙌 That's how many emails Marriott’s CEO, Anthony Capuano, received within 24 hours of standing firm on DEI hiring and policies at the Great Place to Work For All Summit. He made it very clear: “The winds blow, but some truths remain. For 98 years, we’ve welcomed ALL and created opportunities for ALL. That will never change. The words might evolve, but that’s who we are.” The next morning his inbox flooded with emails from associates worldwide expressing gratitude and support. While some companies are rethinking DEI, Marriott is doubling down and showing that inclusive hiring isn’t just talk - it’s a core value. Companies who lead with DEI attract top talent and build ✨ strong ✨ teams that add value and drive innovation. Let’s keep building workplaces where everyone belongs: where opportunity is truly for all and where DEI is non-negotiable. Because that’s how we all win 💪 https://lnkd.in/ebF_hSk8 #womenhack #DEI #Leadership #InclusionMatters #FutureOfWork #womenintech

Sr. Director, Global Events & Sales Enablement @ WomenHack | Diversity Recruitment, Partnerships & Event Management

We need a more honest conversation about privilege. This graphic stopped me in my tracks. Because I’ve existed in the middle of this wheel for most of my life - never fully inside, never fully out. I’m a woman. An immigrant. Jewish, Russian-Ukrainian, and living in the U.S. during a politically charged time. Not a citizen. English is my third language. My degree? Not from a “top U.S. school.” I’m over 35. I’m plus-size. And I’m a mom. By many standards, I don’t sit in the “most privileged” section of this wheel. I’ve been the person whose name was mispronounced, whose accent was scrutinized, whose resume was questioned because of where I studied. I’ve navigated job searches that felt like a maze of barriers. I’ve seen opportunities vanish because I couldn’t be categorized easily. But here’s the thing: I’ve also had access to some privilege. • I am white. • I’m educated. • I had a roof over my head growing up. • I had access to an education and basic healthcare. • I’m neurotypical. • I had enough support to build a career and care for my child. • I made it to adulthood with a voice and the ability to use it. Privilege isn’t linear. It’s layered. The post that inspired this reflection described a tech session where folks were asked: “Do you think you have privilege?” Only half the room raised their hands. But when they were asked if they had access to education, healthcare, two parents, financial support, or regular meals growing up - nearly everyone did. That’s the complexity we need to embrace. We often focus on gender or race - and those are critically important. But look at this chart. Let’s also talk about: • Accent privilege • Citizenship privilege • Body size and beauty privilege • Family structure privilege • Formal education (and where it’s from) • Language privilege • Neurodiversity • Wealth stability in childhood • Religious/cultural privilege Most of us are navigating privilege and disadvantage simultaneously. And understanding that complexity builds empathy, not guilt. Let’s normalize conversations where identity isn’t flattened to checkboxes, and where we hold space for nuance. I’ll go first. Where do you see yourself in this wheel? And if your team is having real conversations about inclusion - not just on paper, but in hiring rooms - know that there are spaces like WomenHack helping companies connect with talent that doesn’t always show up through traditional channels. Representation starts with awareness grows from there. #Privilege #DEI #Inclusion #ImmigrantVoices #Leadership #Equity #Diversity #Belonging #WomenInLeadership #WorkingMoms #AccentPrivilege #DEIB #Hiring #WomenHack

  • It's not everyday that we get full-circle moments at our events (we've definitely had a few over the years!) but we always love it when past attendees return to our evenings on the other side of the table! Thanks for being a part of our evening in KW, Kayla Baker and Onimisi Ukanah! 💚 #womenhack Vidyard #kitchener #womenintech #DEIB

    Senior Talent Partner @ Vidyard!

There has been so much excitement at Vidyard over the past few weeks and I've been MUCH too slow to share some of the awesome things I've had on the go as of late! So here I go... 🎉 ☝ First up: WomenHack! DEIB is a big focus for us at Vidyard, and on March 27th, I had the pleasure of attending the WomenHack event in KW! The cherry on top? I had the pleasure of attending with my wonderful colleague Onimisi Ukanah. 🍒 Why was that the cherry on top? It was a full circle moment for us both! I met Onimisi through WomenHack a few years ago and had the opportunity to bring her on board at Vidyard - a real-life example of the value these events offer to both job seekers and companies. It was incredibly special to sit on the employer side of the table with her by my side. We had a wonderful time connecting with emerging talent, and Onimisi was able to provide a ton of team- and role-specific insights to the candidates who stopped by. No surprise - V-bot was also a huge hit! 🙇♀️ Thank you, Onimisi Ukanah, for joining me, and a big shoutout to Fiona Lau for the invitation and for putting on a stellar event with the team and event partners. ✌ Next on the list: BrainStation! I had the pleasure of speaking on two recruiter panels for graduating students. 💥 As a recruiter, I am so passionate about helping candidates access the information they need to succeed in their job searches, and these graduating classes had so many great questions. Thank you to everyone who attended and listened to our advice! 🌟 Dustin B. & Kristen Vautour were excellent panel buddies, and I'm so glad to be connected with both of them. If anyone has the pleasure of meeting either of them through a recruitment process, rest assured - you're in the hands of hiring partners who truly want to see you succeed in the right role! 🙏 Huge thanks to Alexandra Stancato, M.Ed and Mel Greene for having me! I look forward to speaking again in the future and would highly encourage any recruiter they reach out to, to jump in and take part. 🐶 And finally - what kind of dog mom would I be without a little appreciation for my EA, lunch buddy, Chief Step Count Officer (CSCO), and office couch enthusiast?! He leads from behind with daily naps, side-eye glares, and tail wags at the end of every meeting - always assuming I'm done working the moment I hangup from a call. 😂

💻 Tech isn’t just for the privileged - it’s for everyone. At WomenHack, we believe that your background, race, ethnicity, or gender identity shouldn’t determine your place in tech. Your voice matters. Your perspective is essential. But let’s be honest: Underrepresentation is still real. Women of color make up less than 10% of the tech workforce. Black and Latinx professionals hold just 2-3% of executive roles. This isn’t just a pipeline issue - it’s an empathy gap. Without inclusive leadership, we can’t create environments where innovation truly thrives. The future of tech depends on everyone having a seat at the table - not just as a guest, but as a builder, a leader, and a changemaker. ✨ That’s why we host global events connecting underrepresented talent with companies that are serious about inclusion - not just in words, but in action. Whether you're looking to hire diverse tech talent or find a workplace where you truly belong, WomenHack is where it starts. Let’s break barriers. Let’s build empathy. Let’s make space ✨ real space ✨ for every voice in tech. 🔗 womenhack.com/events #WomenHack #DiversityInTech #InclusionMatters #EmpathyInTech #DEIB #TechForAll

  • 🌈 Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, and at WomenHack, we stand firmly for DEIB — Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging — for everyone, across all genders and self-identifications. We’re proud to partner with companies that not only share these values but also actively create space, opportunity, and respect for the transgender and gender-diverse community in tech and beyond. Let’s continue to build a future where everyone can thrive. #TDOV #TransDayOfVisibility #DEIB #WomenHack #InclusiveTech #TransVisibility
