We worked with Reef Track to develop RT1, a wrist-worn navigation display, giving divers real-time orientation, distance, and route guidance underwater. Every design detail serves readability at depth: high-contrast screen, glove-friendly buttons, custom iconography that reads at a glance, and a silicone band built for saltwater, with the IMU on the diver's vest to keep the wrist unit lightweight. #IndustrialDesign #ProductDesign #ScubaDiving #DiveGear #WearableTech

On September 30th, we're hosting the next Defense & Design Coffee Club at our studio in Potrero Hill. A small morning gathering for founders, operators, investors, and ecosystem builders working across defense and dual-use. If you're navigating early government pilots, scaling into federal customers, or figuring out how a requirements document becomes hardware someone can actually operate, those are good conversations to have over coffee. Co-hosted with Defense Entrepreneurs Forum and Greta R. Spivey. Registration is capped at 50 and subject to approval: https://luma.com/nyig98hg #DefenseTech #HardwareStartups #IndustrialDesign

We're proud to share that Reef Track has been awarded bronze and Gridstack has been awarded silver in the IDSA International Design Excellence Awards 2026. The Melior Faucet, designed with DG TAKANO, was named a finalist. All three projects came out of close collaboration with teams who care about the details as much as we do. Congratulations to everyone involved. #IndustrialDesign #ProductDesign #ConsumerTechnology #DesignAwards

When failure is not an option, how do we design trust? This is the question at the root of many industries — think cars, airplanes, rockets, safety equipment, heavy machinery, food, baby & kid products ... and, of course, medicine. Last month, iF Design & award-winning industrial design studio, WHIPSAW, co-hosted an event during San Francisco Design Week. In the conversation between WHIPSAW's Principal & Founder Dan Harden, & surgical market leader Intuitive's Sr. UX Director, Ryan W. — they discussed the design imperative for building trust in medical systems, medical hardware, and medical interfaces/UI across the growing MedTech landscape, especially involving robotics & AI. "Intelligent systems must become responsive participants in shared space, not just tools to operate." This points to a new frontier for design — one where trust is built through ongoing relationships between humans & machines. Read more HERE: The article is here: https://lnkd.in/eY9ZpX3c ! Special thanks to iF's Head of West Coast, Bianca Fleischer & WHIPSAW's Saoirse Lewis for organizing. #leadership #design #medtech #trust #medicaldesign #systemsthinking

We partnered with OREA to design the first portable crib built for the outdoor enthusiast. It weighs less than 8 pounds, sets up in about a minute, and folds into a 22-inch carry-on, light enough to strap to a hiking pack next to a tent and a sleeping bag. Full project linked in comments below.

Staying home as you age should be simple. Building the platform that makes it possible isn't. The Helper Bees has spent years building a platform that connects older adults, family caregivers, and payers, quietly becoming one of the most comprehensive aging-in-place networks in the country. When they came to us, the goal was a brand that could hold all of that without losing the warmth at the center of it. We worked across brand strategy, visual identity, photography, motion graphics, and a full website build. Each piece was designed to work together, giving the platform a coherent voice across every audience it serves, from families in need to health plan executives. Check out the work, linked below.
