Production intelligence for the global visual effects industry

About us

VFX Callsheet is an intelligence and workflow platform for the visual effects industry. The platform centralizes project tracking, vendor discovery, freelancers, tax incentives, and bidding workflows — giving producers and studios the information they need to move projects into post-production efficiently. By bringing together data that is often scattered across multiple sources, VFX Callsheet helps producers identify the right partners, vendors discover new opportunities, and the industry operate with greater clarity.

  • Sharp piece from Trevor Hogg in VFX Voice on the globalization of VFX. Studios budgeting with a blended tax incentive so work can spread across Canada, the UK, Australia and beyond: a moving grid of rebates, currency, talent and capacity. That's exactly the idea behind VFX Callsheet tax incentive map. Access to the global grid at a glance. API for teams plugging it into their own bidding workflow.

  • Slack bot for VFX Callsheet is now live. Your team can now search 5,000+ VFX productions directly from Slack. No tab-switching, no logins mid-conversation. • VFX Callsheet now has a GraphQL API. Our first open-source contributor just shipped it: a full GraphQL endpoint alongside our REST API, so developers can query exactly the production data they need in a single request. One query. One response. No over-fetching. Filter by status, studio, location, VFX scope, genres; same data, more flexibility. Same API key auth, same credit system. Whether you're building dashboards, integrating with your pipeline, or automating your bid tracking, pick the protocol that fits. • Building VFX Callsheet started from a simple frustration I’ve experienced as a VFX producer: important information exists, but it’s scattered everywhere. Projects in development, vendor strengths seen through reels and interviews, freelancers, evolving tax incentives, and bidding workflows often live across emails, spreadsheets, and multiple platforms. VFX Callsheet is an attempt to bring some of that intelligence into one place, helping producers and vendors navigate the ecosystem more easily. It’s still early, but I’m looking forward to continuing to shape it with feedback from the community. https://lnkd.in/eRgj_Rxr

  • We just published the very first issue of the VFX Callsheet Newsletter. Issue #0 is our soft launch, a weekly intelligence briefing covering what's moving across the VFX production landscape: • Which productions just started filming • Who's entering post-production • What's gearing up in pre-production • Fresh announcements worth watching This first issue covers 10 productions: from The Land (Fox) filming in LA, to an Untitled Kennedy Project (Netflix) shooting in London, to Sharknado Origins (yes, really) gearing up. Starting March 30, we go weekly. Every Monday, straight to your inbox. The newsletter is free. The platform tracks 5,000+ VFX productions, 11,000+ studios, and is updated daily. If you work in VFX, whether you're a supervisor, producer, studio owner, or artist, this was built for you. Subscribe free: vfxcallsheet.com/subscribe Read Issue #0: https://lnkd.in/gg5kT5rW We'd love your feedback. What would make this more useful for your workflow? AI is accelerating parts of VFX production that used to take weeks. Previs, roto, cleanup, asset generation, the compression is real, and it is not slowing down. What it does not compress is the ability to recognize when something is wrong, push back on a creative direction, earn a vendor’s trust over years of honest bids, or know which supervisor on which project needs which kind of support right now. Those capabilities do not live inside a model. They are built through exposure, repetition, judgment, and accountability. The people and studios who will navigate this shift well are not the ones resisting the tools. They are the ones who stay legible, visible in the right places, connected to the right projects, and known for the right strengths. That is part of what VFX Callsheet is being built to support: a clearer map of who is out there, what they do, and where the work is moving. The industry does not need more AI noise. It needs better signal, more clarity about where everyone stands. #VFX #VisualEffects #ProductionIntelligence

  • Tax Incentive Insight Most people know about Canada, UK, Australia. Here's what surprised us digging into 40+ countries for VFX Callsheet: Italy is the only country with a real-time production tracking portal. The ON SET portal lets you see active productions claiming the 40% Italian Tax Credit in near real-time. No waiting for trade announcements. No cold outreach. The data is just... there. Meanwhile studios in every other territory are still relying on PDF bulletins, trade rumors, and personal networks. Italy's been quietly building one of the most transparent incentive ecosystems in the world. We mapped 40+ programs across 25+ countries so you don't have to. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gbi9vKqH

  • After 30 years working inside the VFX industry, I built the tool I always needed. VFX Callsheet is now live. It tracks 5,000+ productions across their full lifecycle, maps 780+ VFX studios on an interactive world map, and covers 40+ tax incentive programs across 25+ countries. There is also a real-time signal feed pulling crew moves, studio news, and production updates into one place. Core data is free. No paywall. The reason this exists is simple. The VFX ecosystem has no central intelligence layer. Producers discover vendors late. Freelancers stay invisible until someone asks around. Tax incentives shift with no easy way to compare. Bidding signals appear and disappear without structure. That fragmentation has a real cost. VFX Callsheet is an attempt to reduce it. Not a directory. Not a database. A production intelligence platform built by someone who has lived the complexity from the inside. Next up: a studio hiring heatmap, bidding signal alerts, and VFX crew data enriched from IMDb. The platform is early. The signal is real. If you work in VFX production, take a look. vfxcallsheet.com #VFX #FilmProduction #ProductionIntelligence
