Vantor's partnership with Google is shaping a new era of geospatial AI, unlocking a step-change in how analysts understand the world: not just detecting objects, but reasoning across global datasets in real time. We spoke with Bill Tinney, Sr. Director on Vantor’s Insights product team, to unpack exactly what integrating Google Earth AI models with Vantor’s spatial foundation means, including: ➡️ The breakthrough of combining Vantor’s near real-time and high-resolution imagery with Earth AI vision-to-language models, which turns analysis from a manual workflow into a dynamic, collaborative process. ➡️ The early success we’ve seen bringing these capabilities into our Sentry global monitoring application, where users were able to rapidly surface patterns and insights without domain-specific pre-training. ➡️ Why Vantor’s ability to bring these models inside sovereign classified and air-gapped environments is so important, bringing frontier models to the data that really matters. In contested environments, mission success starts with terrain truth. With Raptor, autonomous platforms gain a reliable way to navigate and operate with precision. Built on Vantor’s global 3D spatial foundation spanning more than 100 million sq km, Raptor enables drones to determine their position and extract precise ground coordinates using only onboard cameras. Keeping that 3D foundation updated is a high priority. Our automated production pipeline continuously refreshes it with new satellite imagery collections, ensuring operators always work from the latest representation of the world. The result is resilient navigation and mission-ready autonomy. Watch how Raptor turns terrain truth into mission advantage. Learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eQ_eE_Kd

Vantor CEO Dan Smoot joined Forward Future to discuss how geospatial intelligence and sovereign AI are reshaping defense and intelligence workflows.   He breaks down how Vantor’s global collection architecture—high-frequency satellite imagery paired with a continuously updated 2D and 3D spatial foundation—is enabling real-time applications, from change detection to GPS-denied navigation.   A standout example: applying AI in secure environments to identify and differentiate maritime activity at scale—tracking vessel behavior and anticipating where activity will emerge next.   This is where it becomes operational: workflows that once took days now run in minutes, turning global coverage into predictive, decision-ready insight.   Watch the full clip: https://lnkd.in/eHh-RUyW

Last week in Austin, Vantor sponsored the Tectonic Defense Summit, where one of the big themes was how spatial intelligence is shaping the future of warfare, real-time intelligence, and autonomy.   A few takeaways that stood out:   ➡️ The mission has evolved from data access to decision advantage. The question is no longer whether we can collect imagery—it’s how quickly we can detect change, generate insight, and act on it—and operationalize those insights at scale through platforms like Sentry.   ➡️ Speed is the new differentiator. Near real-time intelligence is becoming the baseline, with commercial capabilities accelerating the path from collection to action and enabling faster, more informed decision-making across the mission.   ➡️ Autonomy depends on context. As systems become more autonomous, the quality, timeliness, and interpretation of geospatial data will define their effectiveness—highlighting the need for integrated, AI-enabled solutions.   ➡️ Commercial and government collaboration is critical. Delivering mission impact requires tighter integration between USG and commercial partners to keep pace with evolving threats and technologies.   We were proud to contribute across the summit—from Susanne Hake’s panel on how satellites turn imagery into insight, to Derek S. talking about how operational terrain supports the warfighter, to Bill Tinney demoing our Sentry site monitoring capability.   Thank you to the Tectonic team for hosting a great event and for creating a forum for important conversations like these.

GPS interference isn’t theoretical. It’s happening now at scale. Recent signal interference across the Middle East is a reminder of that reality (CNN's article about it is linked in the comments). As regional conflict escalates, navigation signals are being jammed and spoofed—disrupting systems across aviation, maritime operations, and autonomous platforms. When GPS signals are degraded, aerial systems lose their absolute position reference. They become vulnerable to drifting far from their intended paths and destinations. In high-stakes environments, that can impact operations immediately.  The next generation of autonomous systems needs a different solution.  Vantor’s Raptor software provides GPS-independent positioning by aligning onboard camera feeds with our global 3D spatial foundation. Platforms determine their position by referencing the terrain itself—even when GPS is unavailable. In contested environments, resilience requires positioning without RF signals. You can't jam a map. Where should AI transform space operations: in orbit or on the ground?   It’s a hot topic of discussion in the space and GEOINT community. To make the biggest impact on today's missions, we need to focus more on the ground. The real opportunity is using AI to transform how fast you can process and deliver what the sensor collects so that operators can get intelligence in minutes, not hours.    Jon U., Vantor's Sr. Director of Mission Architecture & Engineering, spoke at GOVSATCOM26 about how Vantor is applying AI on the ground to dramatically increase speed to insight.   As we've recently shared with our Fastlane capability, we’re using AI-driven processing pipelines to compress the timeline from collection to decision so that operators can get the trusted intelligence they need to make decisions at mission speed.    Watch the full panel discussion here: https://lnkd.in/eXuBbUdr
