⚠️ Women’s bodies—and lives—are being turned into battlegrounds in #Sudan. UN Women is on the ground to listen, stand with and support women and girls. Many women have shared unimaginable stories of death, fear, sexual violence, hunger, and months of escaping war—many with their children, with nowhere safe to go. Today, as we mark two years since this devastating war began, their voices are loud and clear. They are demanding justice for the violence they endured. And they are demanding that the world does not forget Sudan—or its women and girls. #KeepEyesOnSudan

230 million. That’s how many women and girls alive today have undergone female genital mutilation (FGM). This practice has no health benefits and leaves survivors with long-lasting physical and psychological trauma. It persists because of community and cultural norms and beliefs. But there is hope. When we unite for a shared cause, we can drive meaningful change. UN Women Regional Goodwill Ambassador Jaha Dukureh, who is an FGM survivor and works tirelessly to #EndFGM, knows this all too well. Learn more about how we’re taking action to end this harmful practice: https://lnkd.in/egZw9KaT #GlobalGoals
