  • The next chapter begins now for graduating #TMCFYardie Destiny Gilliard! After earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in pre-law and paralegal studies from Fayetteville State University, she plans to continue her education and obtain a master’s degree in nonprofit management through a one-year accelerated program. 🎓“I wouldn’t be the graduate I am today without the Thurgood Marshall College Fund because they continuously poured into me academically, professionally and personally throughout my college journey. TMCF gave me opportunities to grow as a leader, build meaningful connections and step into spaces that reminded me my voice and dreams matter. During moments where I doubted myself or felt overwhelmed, they surrounded me with support, mentorship and encouragement that pushed me to keep going. Graduating summa cum laude with my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and minors in pre-law and paralegal studies is not only a reflection of my hard work but also of the doors, resources and belief TMCF provided me along the way. They helped shape me into a confident young woman who is prepared to create impact and continue breaking barriers.”

Today was a dream. 🎓✨ Walking across the stage today was a surreal conclusion to an intense journey. 🎓 Graduating as Salutatorian while completing two degrees and two certificates required a level of discipline I didn’t know I had. I’m so proud of the work put in and the results achieved. To the Class of 2026: It was an honor to stand with you today. Now, it’s time to take everything we’ve learned and make an impact. 🚀 #nationaltechnicalhonorsociety #TMCFGrad #DenmarkTechnicalCollege #Salutatorian2026

Excited to announce that this past Thursday I graduated from Chicago State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA 🎓✨ I am also proud to have graduated from the Honors College, an experience that challenged me, pushed me to grow, and helped shape my journey in so many ways. I leave Chicago State with nothing but gratitude, grace, and appreciation for the journey. I am officially an alumna and, most importantly, a proud first-generation college graduate. Words truly cannot explain how thankful I am to have reached this milestone. There were challenges, sacrifices, and moments where I wanted to give up, but I kept pushing and made it through. This accomplishment means so much more than a degree. It represents breaking barriers, creating new opportunities, and showing my children and family that anything is possible. Next up… I will be pursuing my MBA with a focus in Finance 📚💼 The journey continues, and I’m excited to see what’s next. The sky is truly the limit ✨🎉 #TMCFGrad

  • Their time as a TMCF yard ambassador may have come to a close, but their impact is just beginning. Congratulations to our University of the District of Columbia #TMCFYardie, Jhanine Walker on receiving a B.S. in digital media. 🎓“Through my experience with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, I’ve been pushed far beyond my comfort zone and into rooms that reminded me my voice belongs there. TMCF gave me opportunities to grow professionally, connect with like-minded student leaders and build confidence as a communicator and advocate. From speaking in front of hundreds of students to networking with professionals and peers from across the country, the experience showed me that showing up authentically and striving for excellence can open doors bigger than you imagined.”
