  • Success doesn't happen in isolation. It happens in ecosystems. Behind every promotion, every business launched, every degree earned, there's usually a network of people and institutions that made it possible: mentors who opened doors; organizations that provided resources; communities that said "you belong here". Professional networks that create connections. Mentorship programs that pass down knowledge. Organizations like NABA that have spent more than 57 years building pathways from the classroom to the boardroom. These support systems act as infrastructure — the foundation that allows education, earnings, enterprise, and entrepreneurship to thrive. These ecosystems multiply opportunity. One mentor becomes many. One connection becomes a career. One organization becomes a movement. This is why we all win.

  • Millions of Americans dream of starting their own business. For too many, that dream stalls before they even get started — blocked by something as basic as access to capital. This gap isn't new, but it remains persistent. The numbers tell the story. Black Americans make up roughly 14% of the U.S. population, yet Black-owned businesses account for just 3% of all U.S. firms — and only 1% of gross revenue. Closing it means expanding access to capital, networks, and knowledge. Enterprise matters — not just as a wealth-building strategy for individuals, but as an engine for economic participation that benefits everyone. This is why we all win.

  • Our earnings don’t define our worth, but they do reflect something real: our time, our effort, the investment we make in ourselves and our work. We often think of earnings as a paycheck, but they're much more than that. Earnings put food on tables, keep small businesses alive, fund retirements, and build the wealth that allows families to buy homes, invest in education, and create stability for the next generation. In 2023, women working full-time earned 82.7 cents for every dollar earned by men — this gap actually widened from the year before. For Black women, that figure drops to 66.5 cents. For Latinas, 57.8 cents. And while there is often a focus on the gender gap, the racial gap among men persists too: Black men earn roughly 75 cents and Latino men earn 73 cents for every dollar earned by their white counterparts. At this rate, pay equity won’t be achieved for decades. That's another generation of lost earning power and savings, and delayed wealth-building — for individuals and the communities around them. When everyone receives a fair return on their investment, we all benefit. This is why we all win.

  • “Leadership cannot just go along to get along. Leadership must meet the moral challenge of the day." — Reverend Jesse Jackson (October 8, 1941– February 17, 2026) Reverend Jackson dedicated his life to expanding opportunity and demanding that those with power use it as a force for good. His words remind us that as leaders we must choose conviction over comfort. At NABA, we honor his legacy of lifting others as they climb. Rest in peace, Reverend Jackson
